  1. Both fresh Qb and Rb received offers from Texas Tech this morning.

  2. Why would max leave LSU to sit on the bench at A&M?

  3. That would be a stupid move for Johnson. He is not a great QB. He would probably not ever play or start at A&M. His brother can literally go anywhere he wants... so I am not sure why Max would leverage A&M. He should be looking at some place where he can play and start... leaving LSU in itself was stupid IMO, he would be the starter next season with Boutee, probably one of the best WRs in the nation, back from injury.

  6. Texas getting Ewers in his original class is pretty funny. Obviously he hasn’t played real meaningful football in a year but he had a few months with what I think is a very QB coach in Day at Ohio St. Enough talk about him, now he has to get to work. He has to win the job in spring ball and produce results. There are many things that Texas has to improve on as a team to be successful but we’ve spent 2 years talking about this kid being the next great Texas QB and now it’s time for him to prove he is that.

  7. I wanted to drop some rankings of my top 5 stories of the 2021 regular football season. Here you go: #5. Georgia's Defense- This was the story all year. It was so apparent that we had them as a shoe in for the SEC title this year and almost completely forgot that they may lose a game some day. Well, that day finally came. The shock factor wasn't that Georgia lost. It was how they lost. Alabama's offense and Bryce Young, completely dismantled the Georgia defense and left us wondering if they are even CFB playoff worthy. #4. The Coaching Carousel- LSU kicked off this madness with the Week 7 agreement with Coach O to open this job up. LSU thinking they could lure Jimbo away from A&M, also in turn got pay bumps for coaches at Michigan St, Baylor, as well as several others securing their stay at their respective schools. With big jobs like USC and Florida coming open, the fun really began. Napier falling to Florida, USC luring pretty boy brisket burner away, and Oklahoma coming open, left LSU scrambling eventually money whipping Brian Kelly away from Notre Dame. Oklahoma then hires their dude, well respected defensive guru, Brent Venables away from Clemson. Who knows what could happen during this bowl season to add more to this story. #3. Michigan- Harbaugh essentially being on the hot seat from the fans (never the school), looked to be on a great path in the Big 10. A well balanced approach with a solid defense, looking like a nuke headed right to Ohio State. Then Michigan St, gently reminded them who their biggest rival was, leaving the Maize and Blue faithful saying "here we go again." With the Big 10, essentially chalked up to the Ohio St/Michigan State winner, Ohio State handily beat down Michigan State, and called Michigan down to the ring for their beating. Harbaugh and company, flexed their discipline and left the Ohio State football team in shambles after that game then handily taking care of business in the Conference Championship Game earning their first College Football Playoff berth. #2. Gia and the Pole Assassin- Football, strippers, and a dancing monkey... That sounds like a scene from Varsity Blues right? Wrong. That is the University of Texas. If their 3-game skid wasn't bad enough, their controversial special teams coordinator added new distractions to the team with his Halloween party. Long story short, Jeff Banks' fiancee/girlfriend is/was a stripper, he co-stripper is a monkey. Her nickname is "The pole assassin" from her appearances on the Jerry Springer Show. She had a Halloween Party, a kid wandered off into her backyard, monkey bit kid, monkey had to be pried off of the kid. To add insult to injury, Texas lost 3 more before getting the monkey off of their back (pun intended) to defeat Kansas State to end the season. #1. Cincinnati- They did it. We finally had a "Group of 5" team run the table, beat a legitimate top 10 team along the way, and crash the CFB Invitational. The defining win coming against Notre Dame on October 2. Without any other notable wins, their chances came into doubt until their meeting with Houston in the Conference Championship game on December 4th in which their completely took control in the 4th quarter. With Oklahoma State coming up inches short in their conference championship vs Baylor, it secured the Bearcats' spot in the playoff.

  8. Great season by CH, the future looks very promising for the next 3 years. Someone had to lose this one and of course everyone hates to be on that side of things, but nothing to hold their heads down about, everyone gave their all out there.

  11. I do not think it really matters who the RB or QB is for either team. The winner of this game will control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Celina had a huge offensive line, but they were slow. The CS offensive line are big quick guys that will give the Gilmer defensive line their biggest test. On the defensive side, CS has very good size with quickness. The two teams matchup well and should be a great game.

  12. I've watched LBJ several times this year and have been impressed with their coaches. It is not easy coaching in the inner City. They do not have the advantages that most suburb teams have. They deal with academic issues, kids with very little home life, the lure of "the easy way"..... many other things many don't know about. They also deal with inferior facilities, coaching while teaching large class-loads in a high stress environment. I think the coaching has been outstanding! Getting those kids, with those #s to the state championship game is awesome! People have raved about the job SOC has done this year, and deservingly so. They have a great story. LBJs story may be even better.

  13. If the QB can improve his passing accuracy like 15-20% next year's offense might be the best we've ever seen at CH

  14. Correct. I'm merely reflecting the fact that you referred to CNN (a channel you say you don't watch) as "the good guys". This article alleges otherwise. When you post a Fox News article about someone at Fox News doing the same or similar, you'll see equally scathing criticism from me.

  15. Is this the only East Texas team to make the State finals (Gilmer) Man talk about beast football (yawn) (sarcasm) I love how you east texas folks talk about how good yall are and then boom only one team makes the state title game out of east texas. More teams out of Central Texas and DFW and south Texas every year. I get it Carthage makes it usually. China Spring 42 Gilmer 28 China Spring Lorena Franklin 3 Teams winning state in Central Texas.

  16. Visits are like an old school Youth Camp to me. You get there and everything is awesome. You make decision on an emotional high then you get back home and 2-3 weeks later and the shine wears off and you go right back to normal. Also recruiting just happens way to soon. Kids should not get to talk to schools until the 2nd semester of their Junior year. This is generation also just loves themselves too. It is all about attention.

  17. Not to mention a very talented freshmen class that haven’t lost in like 30 games. They will also be bringing some nice size in the trenches. If the Qb can get more comfortable throwing and we can balance the offense a little better watch out. Somebody correct me if I’m wrong but i think we return all skill positions and a outstanding kicker.

  18. Universal Pre-K for 3 and 4 yr olds... would the parents still get childcare funding for daycares etc or would they be forced into public schools? I feel that this is more government taking control of your children and forcing them into government funded school systems essentially making daycare (small business owners) somewhat obsolete. I am on the fence on that one. Child care subsidies... I am okay with this, but they can't overlap the universal pre-k. If you get funding for Ages birth to 3, then once 3 gets here you go to public pre-k. You don't get to double dip off of government funds. Paid FMLA... no. If the funds come from government, hell no. If government forces private businesses to pay it, hell no. If private employer wants to do this, I am all for it. However, this sounds like dictatorship policies. Insurance for the uninsured... I thought we had this? Doesn't Medicaid still exist? Not for expansion of this. Child tax credit... no Medicaid for all... no, socialism at its core and we all know how that will get paid. MORE FOOD STAMPS... I literally saw a woman and Brookshire's with $300 of groceries and didn't pay a single thing. Screw that. No.

  19. That was a damn good game, and nothing against waskom cause they are a well coached team, but franklin was just better.. waskom made plays when it mattered to make it interesting at times, but you could tell it was just a matter of time b4 franklin was going to take over that game... waskom had a 80 something yard run early by #7 for 6 and a 60 yard run by the QB early 3rd... other than that franklin stopped them from scoring... waskom is a damn good team and I've watched them 3 times this year in the playoffs and they usually score at will with #7, #20, #15, #23... IMO #7 is waskoms best player and other than that 84 yard I believe option they ran he was almost silent and it's hard to stop him... I think it'll be good thru halftime... I'm sticking with 35-14 lions Good luck to both these schools, both deserving to be on the big stage

  30. One last thing about Kenny Canady. I can promise this man loves Jacksonville. Shows up to almost every girls athletics home events. He has zero reason to be here except he shows love and support. He is never to busy to speak and say something positive about your kid. I for one always feel better about my kids wellbeing with him around. Happy Sunday to all.

  37. The most important aspect of this is not the talent level. It’s the experience level. Alabama is use to this stage. They can take a punch out the gates and survive the storm. cincy probably can’t emotionally handle this. If bama jumps ahead by 10+ early or Cincy makes a big mistake, I can see this one being a blowout win for Alabama. I’m actually glad cincy made it though. And I’m hoping they lose by 30+ so we can put this ridiculous mid majors deserve a automatic playoff argument to bed.

  39. I look for them undisciplined Buckeyes to play well, yea they'll make some mistakes but so will CS on the big stage, everyone has seen the Carthage game with CS, sorry but the Dawgs QB had an off night, some of the passes were not in the same zip code, say what you will but Tennison can throw darts, and he can do it under pressure, and i got a feeling you'll see him really use his legs Friday, un like most of the season, yes CS is good, but they have to stop alot of weapons on offense, that has really gotten on another level as the year has progressed, can Gilmer get a few stops, im gonna say yes, the defense has gotten better aswell, so gauging the Buckeyes on early season games, would be pointless, same with CS, or any other games both have played, games have to be played, and both are capable of winning this game, and anything can happen...I think you see Brandon Tennison use his legs and keep the chains moving, so give me the Bux by 14!

  40. · Epilogue To a Season The drive to Mesquite Stadium was going to be a long one, but was made enjoyable by the fact that the Wildcats was in the Semifinals for the 5th time during the era of Keeling. Little signs along the way that said Corrigan Camden check, Troup check, Newton check, Daingerfield check we knew we were headed in the right direction and that was Buc-ee’s. Meet up with friends and talked about where are we going to eat as we walked around the store in our Wildcat gear drawing questions like are Ya’ll in the playoffs still? The decision was made to eat at Texas Road House which was only about 5 minutes from the gladiator colosseum. As we ordered from a waitress who talked so fast you couldn’t understand her so I turned her over to my wife to interpret. I settled on the pork chop but suddenly I wasn’t so hungry as my thoughts went back to the arena and the Lions whom we had come to tame. I was cheered up when my wife said I have a Fifty-dollar gift card we can pay with as the anxiety of the game faded a little with that financial news. Time to leave and head to the Stadium and get situated with friends surrounding me isolating me from screaming kids and rattlers. Then all the sudden news came that Keeling had the virus, but then I see our Coach come onto the field sick or not, he wasn’t going to miss the battle. The captains walk to the middle of the field and flip the coin and Waskom wins the toss and elects to kick and received the ball in the second half. I whisper to my friend or he to me if we can hold them and get the ball and score, we will be in the driver seat and that is exactly what we did but those Lions proved to be resistant to the whip and came right back causing the crowd to grow silent. As the bleacher coaches began to strategize Waskom went into halftime down 14-7 but we had the ball first in the second half but before that the latrine would have to be utilized. The second half started off with Waskom driving against the brutal defenders when our Spartacus broke lose for a long gallop invigorating the big crowd of coaches and onlookers from Waskom. Score now was 14-14 and the big mo was in our favor as we entered the 4th quarter of battle. As the two adversary’s battle the Lions once again pounced upon those Wildcats and went up 20-14 but the Lions pigskin deflated on the extra point going wide, the irony was strong with that miss, suppose we drive down and score and win this game 21-20…..My dreams was fixing to come true as we was driving the chariot straight to the finish line like Charlton Heston in BEN-HUR when a pesky Lion with deep claws pried that precious game right out of our paws. I felt despair fall over me but wait we still had a chance but it seemed the Lions was only teasing me by putting that pig on the ground and taking it back. It was not to be as those Lion came away victorious as both teams left their swords on the field and shook hands in a display of true sportsmanship. As we dispersed from the arena many thoughts came to my mind, what a great season these Wildcats & Staff gave us, thankyou to the Seniors that made this possible and the dedication of a coaching staff that put many hours into workouts and traveling along with reviewing and pouring over game film and formulating a game plan. To the players who are junior and below you still have a great nucleus coming back next year and you know what I will be setting there on the hot August day watching you work out from my airconditioned truck. 41. @Mavchamp‘Jacksonville is NOT divided. We’ve experienced a series of losing seasons, only 3 playoff appearances in the last 10 years. Just because a few people get on here with their opinions about Jacksonville football does not mean our town is “divided.” It is not. I have observed is a lack of expectations in our football program that started way before Coach Coleman and his staff got here. People forget that in 2012, 2013, and 2014, ‘Jacksonville only won 8 games. Coach Coleman and this staff did not get here until 2015. So this lack of expectations did not start with this coaching staff, they inherited it. ‘Jacksonville went 2-8 in 2015, 6-5 in 2016, and 6-5 in 2017. So 14-18 in first 3 years playing much larger schools like Tyler High, Lufkin, etc…. Then Marshall, Texas High, etc.. no excuses. None. things have not worked out well in the last few years. But again, this town is not divided. We want to win just like everyone else. How that happens …everyone has an opinion.
