  1. Congratulations to you SDC Aggies; a well earned victory. That was a butt thumping of the highest order. Dang it! Good game by the Ags.

  2. I wonder how many of them have replaced God with Government. So Government is their god.

  3. It isn’t Rocket Science. In 1940’s, 50’s and 60’s, a consistent 98% believed there was a God. In 2017 that number had dropped to 87%. This year it’s plummeted down to 81%. https://www.foxnews.com/us/number-americans-who-believe-in-god-drops-historic-low-poll Side Bar: I suspect it’s still 98% in a foxhole in a combat situation.

  4. Congrats to the Aggies. No doubt who was the better team. Early in the season, Texas was getting base runners home with two outs. That was not the case today.

  6. Glad to win a game. Ags battled today. Texas had their chances but couldn’t convert. Melendez was up with the bases loaded and took a tough strike 3 (which was low, admittedly).

  7. I agree on this. I do think that it's ridiculous that they were allowed in, but I thought it was ridiculous that many of those that were protesting on Jan. 6th were let into the security locks by someone from the control booth.

  8. Not only that, in an offense like the flexbone or the Slot-T, every player on the field, including the QB, has to be a good blocker. I don’t mean willing to go throw a block to spring a guy. I mean dedicated to carrying out a blocking assignment on every snap except when he’s running the ball or throwing it. In addition, it will require a big change in attitude from the O-line. In a spread system, the O-line’s primary job is protection. Most running plays employ a zone blocking scheme. In this system, they go from being protectors to being aggressors. I remember several years ago hearing Andy Evans on the radio going into a playoff game with one of the Slot-T teams (Franklin if memory serves me correctly). He said “there’s no way we can prepare for them in a week. We can show their plays with the scout team, but there’s absolutely no way to simulate the level of physicality that they bring to the field.” I’m sure if you spoke to coaches who have faced Waskom in the last ten or so years, they would tell you something similar. That’s the transition that Tatum’s kids are about to undergo.

  9. Texas was just never the same after Witt went down. There were brief flashes of a good team but never the dominant team as leading into the season. The Aggies strung it all together at the right time.

  10. A&M had a lot of luck with some Texas leaguers and got some gutsy pitching performances when it mattered. Schloss made a really good call trusting Dallas to stretch it almost 2 innings farther than I thought he could. Texas had a good team this season but never seemed to find that killer instinct to either put teams away they should or come from behind in clutch moments. They are really the opposite of A&M who doesn’t do really anything particularly well except work the count but finds ways to win games when it matters.

  12. Good game for the Aggies but Texas just didn’t have it after the Supers. Starting pitching wasn’t there and the hits weren’t falling. Not the season I thought Texas would have but they fought their way to Omaha and never gave in.

  13. Tough way for the season to end but maybe an appropriate way. The things that plagued the Horns during season showed up in both game in Omaha. Definitely a season that was frustrating most of the year but the offense was a lot of fun to watch and you ended your season in Omaha. Next year will basically be a new team and I expect to see Tulo hired away from this staff. Will be a lot of new faces and a lot of excitement.

  14. Republicans have already started promising investigation and a possible impeachment attempt if they regain control of the house. Are we in an era of never-ending investigations of the "other" party now?

  15. I was speaking more in terms of Tatum’s long term success than the results of one game. As far as Center, you are correct. They are very similar to Timpson pre-Therwanger. Everyone knew they had the pieces for success. They just needed the right guy to put it all together. Is Meeks that guy for Center? I suppose this season will give us some answers.

  16. Interesting. Will these insurrectionist be arrested and Congressional hearings held? Breaking into Congressional offices, and aided in this unlawful endeavor by none other than Adam Schiff. So when Congress finishes investigating Trump, I shall expect the same level of scrutiny be applied to Shifty Schiff (the appropriate name would require dropping the “f” in Shifty). I eagerly await this hearing, but since Schiff is a Democrat and therefore above the law, and they only broke into Republican Offices, I expect this insurrectionist act will be ignored. After all, prior to 1/6, Democrats were wrecking havoc in the streets, destroying, burning, attempting murder and creating anarchy with impunity. Being a Democrat allows you to pick and choose which laws you’ll respect and which you’ll ignore. Really funny how that works.

  17. I won't make any votes or predictions until I see our scrimmage vs Legacy. I do think our defense will be stingy enough to keep us in the game. We return the core of a defense that held Longview to 14 points while having NO offense to boot. I'm waiting to see if we will be able to score enough to even consider winning this game. It's been ugly the last 2 years on O. I'd imagine JA will keep it simple on our young Qbs by relying heavily on JQ and Bird in the backfield. If JT can consistently stop the early version of our running game, it's theirs to lose. It will be interesting to see where our offense is at heading into this game. Most notably the oline.
