All I have to judge Jacksonville on is their Maxpreps scores to date... and based on that I think a lot of folks are underestimating them. They beat Pine Tree (in PT) by a wider margin than Kilgore beat them at home. They comfortably beat an Athens team that by most accounts is "not bad". And they only lost by 5 to a very good Crandall team who throttled Kaufman who beat Lindale.... who we know is really good. I don't think anybody in this district can write Jacksonville off as a W at this point.

My kid played for DK in 18 & 19 - As long as I live, I'll never forget getting ready to start the 18 game in DK but moving it to NB because of lightning and field conditions. I think the whole town showed up.

McGuire had the gameplan that played to win the game in all 3 phases. On offense, they took advantage of 4th down when it wasn’t ludicrous to do so. On defense, they played a bunch of press man to take away the easy stuff and brought pressure at Card (a backup QB). They never wavered when down in the 2nd half and trusted the plan. Texas should have had the same defensive gameplan as Tech. Dare the backup QB to beat you with pressure in his face and tight coverage. Instead, as has been noted, Texas didn’t consistently send pressure and didn’t consistently play tight coverage. The result? Poor yard per play/attempt sure, but when Tech showed they were content to take the short stuff and go for it on 4th down, that approach was no longer sound. Tech game-planned like a team trying to win, Texas game-planned like a team trying not to lose.

Bout to have to start supporting DF. DF defense will be miraculously fixed moving forward. As stated by VG, DF will not face anyone with similar firepower to what DF has seen for the remainder of the year and this can include "Newton". Nothing has changed about DF objectives and "threat to win it all". I would not be surprised in any capacity to see DF in Arlington.

LOL..."this is a very good series"..."this is a stupid show". When we watched it, we actually enjoyed it. Though my understanding is the book differs from the series in a lot of places. That's what my wife tells me. We couldn't understand, at first, that Smith was "Obergruppenfuhrer". We couldn't quite understand what they were saying, so we called him "SuperDuperFuhrer" until we figured it out. I won't spoil it for you, but there are some interesting surprises and twists in store. Just keep watching. And when you finish with this series, watch "The Feed". I think "the feed" is only one season.
