Cooper Update: 12.15.22 Cooper had the colonoscopy yesterday. They did a biopsy and have started treating him for ulcerative colitis, while waiting on biopsy results. They have admitted him to Children's Memorial to treat this. The plan is to start him on steroids and a Remicade IV infusion. Cooper will most likely be at Children's for at least a week. He will be seen by a GI specialist while at Children's and they will not send him back to TIRR until they see improvement with his GI issues. The Remicade could be a long term treatment plan for the inflammation in the stomach he has been experiencing. Though this may seem like a set back, we are grateful to be in the hospital under the care of a GI specialists. Cooper cannot make progress with rehab until his stomach issues are resolved. He has lost a lot of weight. He is weak, and just cannot give full efforts in rehab. As always, we are grateful you all have been so faithful to keep praying for us. I know you are checking the page regularly for updates. Thank you all so much for your continued prayers. Specific prayer request: Wisdom for medical staff. Accurate diagnoses and treatment plan for Cooper's stomach problems. Adequate nutrition to ensure healing and weight gain. Pain relief for Cooper. Faith and strength for Cooper, Terry and Susanne. Some might be surprised to know that I have a son in law who is an Apache mechanic in the Army and a son about to go to boot camp in the Air Force. Both have the goal of getting training and certifications that will help them long term in the workforce. Pray they both stay safe along the way.

Did you miss the part where he said he told the kids last year was for the community and everyone else. But this year was about them and it was time for them to go out there and do this for themselves. Then he proceeded to say that his class of 2022 was the best class to ever come through DISD and he repeated the statement in emphatic passion and he said that it could only be topped by his 2023/2024 class. This is were its a difference of culture in how a coach relays his message to his players and his community. I know several folks that loved what Coach Todd had to say at the end, even him saying to call him “Coach Todd 2 Tymes” from now on. That’s a cultural reference that I’m sure went over your head.

I hear that played at games pretty often but wasn't sure what it was called either. Pretty good song for high school games. I wish they would bring back some of the old classics that pretty much set the atmosphere for games in the 1960's and 70's like "The Horse", "Hawaii Five-0" and "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" I guess none of those would be too appealing to anyone except old folks from my generation Some college bands like Auburn still play "The Horse"

Hey man years ago when Carthage won their 1st few state championships. Y'all use to come on here beat Y'all chest about Coach Surratt and how great he was. I thought y'all were full of bull . I thought they just have a great class and y'all would come back down to earth just like every other program. After that 5th state championship I was like nope. He is that good. Every since then I have never doubted what y'all say about him on smoaky.com.

Carthage turned the ball over 4 times. GR turned it over twice. Carthage had a long TD called back. But GR was good and played like a team that wanted it. So I think a bit of both.

Carthage turnovers and a td nullifying penalty played a factor but GR was really good

We lost in 1991. 2008 against Celina was a good contest. 2009 against Graham was really close. 2016 we pulled away from Abilene Wylie in the second half. 2017, 2019 & 2020 we put on strong performances.

Celina, graham, Kilgore and Wylie were all good games in my opinion.

Kind of what I was thinking...I would say Brock is in some pretty elite company. 8 Playoff appearances, 3 title games, and 1 title...those are some pretty good percentages. They have only been playing football since 2011!
