I hope he stays with us,but he's hendo home grown and played ball there,had some pretty good mentors and an exceptional drive to win.He would have no probs coaching at that classification level,he played at that level himself.Give him the normal hendo athletes and he'll produce you a winner,people tend to forget that at his present school,most of the players play both ways all game and it's hard to maintain high level energy every snap when your kids are on the field for 48 minutes .As for me personally I've know him alot years and wish him the best of luck whichever decision he gets to make,one of us is getting a helluva coach

Why does it matter what the color of the head coach skin is? Have you thought maybe no white coach applied for the head coaching job at JT. It seems to me you be worrying about the wrong  all the time. The only thing that matters is JT having a capable coach to lead this young men.

I will say that I think all of those privates and charters in Tyler more so effect enrollment than it does the football programs. Also, let's not act like Tyler's 4 ISD zones are cut up the same way Longview's are. Go 4 minutes to the East of Longview High, you're in another zone. Go 4 minutes to the West of Longview High, you're in another zone...lol In other words, the 4 ISDs in Longview are well within the city limits....not just the outskirts. 3/4 stretch well within Loop 281.

Woods also coached in inner city OKC at Millwood and Marshall...and he did win a state title as a head coach. Folks I talked with in Oklahoma said he did a very good job at Enid and they improved each year he was there

This is nothing new for Tyler either. They had to be separated by sheriff deputies a few weeks ago at Marshall and was pretty much banned from ETX hoops summer tournament for trying to fight the little Whitehouse team after WH beat them in a mean nothing tournament. When the fb team played legacy was some of the worst sportsmanship I have ever seen. Kids flipping off the stands and everything. Tyler has some good players but they don't seem to know how to act. Judging by post on FB by the Tyler Paper and CBS the parents make excuses and Coaches look the other way for the sake of winning. You can change the name all you want, but JT going to JT.
