Sorry I couldn't take part in this Algonquin Sit Around Table discussion, but I was busy the last two days attending my youngest son's graduation ceremonies from Air Force boot camp. Very proud of him and the direction he is going in choosing to serve his country. Soon he will be in cyber intelligence, and I will be coming for all of you!!! (Joking!!!)4 points

Two hard rules in public education: if there is evidence of harm against someone, by them or someone or if someone may do harm to someone, you report it to 'CPS' or the police, and while you should let school leaders know, you are to report it directly. How did this come to light? My thought is that other coaches must have known, other teachers or staff, and possibly reported it and it was suppressed. 8 years and different leaders? That angers me.3 points

C&C - the best thing the young man can do is stay off social media, keep a low profile, put in the off-season work perfecting his game, and let the process unfold.3 points

Coming from a Lion that I don't take seriously at all as a person with brains of a sea slug, my response to you is a question: were you dropped on your noggin as a child or did someone hit you one too many times with a giant cartoon mallet? Serious question.3 points

Don't know any of those people, but it is freaking stupid not to report these incidents.....but that just shows that some administrators believe they are above the law, or they can look the other way.....2 points

If he can update the forum when it actually needed, then hack me! Just leave enough money to pay the bills and feed the kids2 points

Hahahaha. He used to get under my skin with his relentless trolling, but what works for me is just randomly ignoring every other post he makes, then patting him on the head for a decent moment. Keeps him off balance and more fun than raising my blood pressure!2 points

Just pictured you frantically combing through your Word of the Day desk calendar to come up with that post. Good for you, little buddy.2 points

Why do we act like 2 white people out of millions in this country are representative of a majority? Please explain. Heck I'd even venture to say they are a cuckold couple who get turned on by doing this. I'm 41 and not a single white liberal kissed my boots yet.2 points

I'm probably the only one rooting for Carlisle to hire Othell Robinson... just for the Smoaky banter.2 points

Somebody is a little upset and obviously does not like the dawgs hahahaha kids transfer to powerhouse schools quite a bit (Aledo, Pleasant Grove, Gilmer, Etc. just to name a few). Only reason this is news is because he is a big time recruit. I remember a few years ago, Duncanville had 4 star linebacker (that is now at Alabama) transfer in his senior year and don’t remember a whole lot of noise. Maybe the kids and parents just want to win and be exposed to good coaches.2 points

Everything about the Oilers uniforms just worked. The great oil derrick logo. The Columbia blue, the scarlet red and white just popped. Much better than that random, bootleg video game logo and uniforms of the Texans. They look like create a team rejects from Madden ‘97.2 points

Yes I realize that most of the time it is within the rules, just stating that most people will think it looks suspicious. And let’s just be honest, within the rules don’t always mean it’s actually within the rules, it’s just a way to break the rules and get away with it.2 points

I did the same thing Kirt. They are drawing the line at the 21st century1 point

BAYLOR .... Mike Singletary over Robert Griffin III MARSHALL .... Randy Moss over Byron Leftwich GEORGIA .... Herself Walker over David Pollock1 point

Also, I would say Charles Woodson at Michigan. Won Heisman and played a lot both ways. Oh I forgot 21st century1 point

By the way he got hammered in the replies1 point

True, but if we're drawing the line at 21st century I think we gotta look at hardware. Peterson was awesome, but left for the NFL too early. If he'd stuck around to win a Heisman I think he'd definitely be our #1.1 point

And for Boston College my vote would go to Doug Flutie. And ND has had better players than Te'o IMO.1 point

No, I didn't forget and I only made my statement to show that move ins and move outs happened long before SS got to Carthage and started winning championships. The fact that he hurt the feelings of a certain fanbase bc he called a timeout to score a td before the end of the first half in a playoff game and said fanbase is still salty and looks for any chance to throw shade at the Dawgs is an added bonus.1 point

Not according to him. Remember, it's not happening. There's no time to do it, he says.1 point

It's news because the kid is a D1 recruit...then you combine the fact he's going to Carthage and you have it being even bigger news1 point

A few years ago a kid from Pewitt tried to go to Daingerfield and was denied by the UIL, then one from Hughes Springs and again denied. Both had parents who lived in Daingerfield. The fact that Hamptons mom got a job within Carthage ISD and now he decided to move in with her is extremely suspicious. And I guarantee it will be investigated. Surratt would be a fool to let him play and bring bad press to his program.1 point

Surratt wouldn’t let him join the team if it weren’t all by the book.1 point

The clowns are trying to send more money to Ukraine, North Korea is firing off missiles again, OH stupidity and then super delayed response due to D indifference. D’s love America like Philadelphia Eagles fans love the Dallas Cowboys.1 point

This is where it will determine any success for Texas moving forward. First let me just say, I'm still not convinced Sark is the right guy. I'm still holding out hope, but he hasn't proven that to me yet. One thing he is doing, however, is recruiting well, and building depth! That's the part that lacked tremendously under Herman and Strong. Depth. I agree with you that Texas has superior talent than most of their competition over the last 10 years, but what they did not have was depth. That's something that has improved a lot over the last two seasons. I also agree that you must have depth to compete weekly in the SEC. Again, I think Texas is steadily improving in that area. That takes me back to Sark. He's entering year 3. He has talent. He has depth. He has mostly his guys now. Now it's time for him to show he can make the necessary halftime adjustments to put teams away in the second half. Five of Texas' losses under Sark, they had a halftime lead. And in each of them, they held a double digit lead in the 3rd quarter. Learn to finish those games, and we're having a different discussion as it relates to Texas right now.1 point

How convenient to “move” right after your basketball season ends lol.1 point

Poor talentless Carthage wouldn't be able to compete without the plethora of kids that flock to the Mecca just to play football. Awesome that Scott was able to get all these kids to move in and win three state championships in his first 4 years as a head coach. Must be tough on all the other schools in the State of Texas who only have the same kids that live there from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Pretty sweet that Carthage is the only place where anyone moves to.1 point
