  3. Your quote included '97. I'm not sure what the common denominator is between '97, '04, '09, '19 and '22....outside of they all wore Lobos across their chess and wore green. Maybe there's a hidden common denominator involving the '75 team too... One common denominator is all of those teams faced a lot tougher comp than Van Alstyne and Glen Rose.

  13. Exactly. Every President that has ever lived has had classified documents in their possession after they left the White House from Washington to even VP Joe having classified documents in multiple places. I would bet that 99& of those documents aren't even relevant today. Yet, the media and the left DOJ wants to act as if National Security was at risk. I'm not saying he didn't have any, but their lack of importance is what makes these charges political to me.

  22. I hope you right my friend.. but it could very well be a close game with us and centerville, we lost a ton of skill kids as well .. but what will help us is , we are moving up a pretty salty defense to go along with the few starters we return from last year, our JV defense only lost 2 games last year and only allowed 21 points all season I believe.. everyone else they shut out .. could possibly be starting a freshman RB this year .. if this kid stays with it and keeps a good head , he will be a stud in a few years ! Shoot he ain’t bad now… should be an interesting season.. I’m ready!!

  24. I think on paper that ATL and Tatum are the favorites but I think our kids will run under the radar a little during the preseason games (the gauntlet) but will be competitive in every district game. We lost our most dynamic player but overall I think will field a better team. The off-season has been good and the kids worked hard. Lots of new coaches who are young and hungry to help the kids.

  30. I’m still going with Atlanta and Tatum as district favorites based on last year. I also believe that Sabine could be a dark horse this year. Jefferson will still be loaded with athletes, as usual, but will they will be young! Those are my top 4 picks.

  35. Newton was the only reason they didn’t win state that year .. daingerfield had athletes all over the field, but newton had a team that doesn’t come around often .. they are few and far between.. for 2 years newton was unstoppable.. but daingerfield got revenge that night at SFA… I still remember that play where the daingerfield QB scrambled and out ran everyone to score and take the lead and eventually win the game .. newton and daingerfield has had some battles over the years !!

  38. Cooper/ Honey Grove. One of the oldest & most bitter rivalries in Texas. Still remember the “burning of the broom” in 1994 I think it was. Cooper’s O-line was nicknamed “the broom” because of the sweep play & how they’d blow people off the ball. Honey Grove won that night & some of the HG students brought a broom out to midfield & lit it on fire after the game.

  43. Suck it up buttercup .... get out and do some work .... it's always been hot in the summer in Texas ..... the only thing that's changed is kids aren't acclimated to it .... you can't sit in the air conditioning all day listening to CNN and LSDMSNBC telling you it's record breaking heat EVERY YEAR and then go outside and expect not to pass out from heat exhaustion .... get your mind right and get the kids acclimated ... I hired a couple of high school boys to help me cut down and pile a couple or acres of dead 10 year old pine trees Stihl chain saws, axes, logging chains and tractors .... we started around 7:30 and worked until about 2pm .... one boy quit after 2 days and went back to his air conditioning .... the other is still working with me and I'm almost 70 .... Cooler full of water, Gatorade and plenty of snacks, regular breaks and a good lunch ..... it will make a man out of you .... or you can go back indoors .....

  44. I’m working in it every day. I will spend next week in College Station teaching live fire training at the largest fire/ rescue training school in the world. I will be 50 in less than three weeks. There’s a guy that I work with at the fire training school that is in his 70s, that took time off from his retirement gig as a high school football official so he could watch his grandson play, that will be there all week, gearing up in full firefighter PPE and going into burn rooms where it’s hot enough to bake chicken. Saying that it’s too hot to practice football outside is just ridiculous. It’s an opportunity for kids to learn how to manage the elements and take care of themselves in it. Learn proper hydration, taking frequent breaks, steps for cooling down, etc. 99% of them will not play football past high school. But many of them will need to be able to do manual labor. The real world is a tough environment. Better that they learn to deal with it now. GOOD TIMES CREATE WEAK MEN WEAK MEN CREATE HARD TIMES HARD TIMES CREATE STRONG MEN STRONG MEN CREATE GOOD TIMES Do we want today’s high school football players to be a generation of strong men or weak men?
