  1. A couple of things will happen. 1) Those PAC 12 teams are going to fan out and I believe only Utah and Oregon will be standing at the end. 2) Notre Dame and LSU will creep back in the top 10 at some point. 3) at some point this season, someone is going to fall in love with a Troy etc that is 10-0 by beating JUCOs and put them in this top 10.

  3. The Texas D grew into form late last year. That has continued this year. This defense/ST ranks in the top 20 in 3rd down conversion rate, 1st downs allowed, KO return yards, net punting, red zone defense, rushing defense, scoring defense, sacks and TO margin. This is where Texas makes hay this year.

  4. I donโ€™t care if they played a bunch of middle schoolers. 5-0 is something to be proud of especially with their history. Feel good story.

  6. Good points. They played very competitively last year, four games they lost by a combined 18 points and two others by an average of 13.5 points. They have turned the corner offensively his year. Their quarterback has passed for 1089 yards (sat out 5 quarters) As a team they have rushed for 1035 yards through 5 games. Of course, it's a new season now with district play starting next week. They will have to step it up no doubt. It's a very tough district. Guess time will tell.

  7. It is "doesn't have" and yes there are "oldtimers" on here...played for Overton in the early 70's and have followed East Texas football for 50 years...most schools go through cycles, up years, and down years...my son played on the Overton 1995 state semifinal team...my grandson played on the 2016 Bi-District chap team...MUSTANGMANIA played on the championship teams in the early '80s when Bo Tarkington was HC...Mr. P played under Mike Cylde in the early '90s on several playoff teams...so yeah a few "oldtimers" are here.

  8. Interesting Note: Apple Springs has a football team but no band. Lufkin Hudson has a band but no football team. For many years, this one included, the Hudson band packs up on Friday nights and plays at Apple Springs football games.......

  11. This Measuring stick game for Tyler High last week's loss was heart breaking to McKinney North I think Cujo will bounce back but I don't know what to expect from this game Lancaster stayed with Longview for about Midway through the 3rd quarter and then the Longview match the gas put the game on cruise control Tyler High still have some tough games left on the schedule they got a Lufkin,Forney and Longview if they can win one of these 3 games then they will be good going down the stretch I think Tyler High will be fighting for a 2nd if somebody can trip McKinney North up in the next couple of weeks and Tyler High will have chance to finish behind Longview, next 4 weeks is going to be pretty interesting in this District I'm going to be paying attention on my Friday Night Football app week in and week out to see how things shape out I'm rooting for Coach Wood rest of way , He his turned Tyler High around his 1st year on the job.

  12. The player who started the rukus on our team was ejected and will sit out first district game, I was five feet from where it all went down,i watched all of it unfold.what a parent across the entire stadium thinks they saw and what we,who were basically sitting 10 feet from it saw are different, your guy took our qb down hard and way out of bounds,no biggie, but when he tried to get up your player shoved him back down and flexed over him, major mistake on his part.Sometimes actions have consequences, and they are immediate.Note to visiting team's,if you are gonna do that dumb stuff,do it on your own sidelines because on ours you are gonna get checked.

  16. There's an early Sunday game in London. If you forget or don't wake up in time to make a lineup change, I'll do a lineup change . If You'll let me know ahead of time kind of who you would want to change that may be better.

  27. Killing it at Georgia Tech currently. Leads the ACC in passing. Glad he got out of that mess in College Station. Haynes is the goat. After him, I'd go Aaron Johnson, Joel Armstrong, Bivins Caraway and Pete Robertson in that order.

  29. While at Longview, definitely has to be Haynes King. Not even really close honestly. Holds practically ever passing record there is for the Lobos, not to mention help lead Longview to the 2018 title at the stateโ€™s highest level. After playing at Longview, well thatโ€™s a different story.

  34. When your HC runs his mouth all summer about "best QB room in the country", "offense will be 14 pts better" , "fastest team around", "best DL" and all that and then keep taking jabs at TX and OU you better back it up. Tech got a lot of bounces last year and every break imaginable in the Texas game. They may be lucky to get bowl eligible. But everything runs through Lubbock.
