  1. 1-I totally get that. I was just trying to say that too often coaches get hamstrung because of crap like that. 2-not naming names. 3-I agree 100%. If Saben were a heart surgeon I would want him every time. I guess my point is this, and I absolutely have no dog in this fight, HS hired a first time HFC. In less than a year they are, or someone, seems VERY UPSET. What happened to hiring someone, especially a rookie, and giving them time to grow into the role?

  2. I am going to have to agree with this. When did "personal responsibility" become "bad".......Were they bad parents, possibly, should they have locked up their guns, yes. Do you really know if your child is having mental problems or if they are going through a teenage phase of different behaviors......I saw my daughters go through all types of phases while they were teenagers. The best I could do was talk to them, love them, but I still had to let them make their choices, good or bad.......And if they had done something "lawbreaking" I could go to jail for them......This is what is happening because we DON'T punish the REAL CRIMINALS in our country.....weak bails, no deportations......all leads to lawyers going after everyone, but those intent on doing "bad things" to others......SMH

  3. Also take into consideration the assistants he brought in, the prolly have no standing and can be let go without cause. They came in to this situation with their families and now are prolly looking again. Not a fun thing to have to do. As far as head coach maybe community looks at those who hired the man and how they went about it. Administration brought him to board to be hired did they give him full control or did they tie his hands. Hughes Springs used to have a school district that kids wanted to join and be a part of now it seems only the softball team is doing well. Just saying.

  5. Lots of reasons for inflation. $trillions of govt spending...supply chains have been a wreck since the pandemic...and corporate greed also plays a big part.

  6. That is most places now. People are focused on results and do not understand that there is a process to success. There is no way around it. It takes what it takes (to quote the title of a book). You can't shortcut hard work and in today's society we often don't understand that. You are 100% correct that we expect instant gratification. From social media, to Amazon, to Door Dash. Anything can be had in an instant....except for the results that come from hard work.

  7. Not in the mood to argue with everyone. But this is another state that is going way too far, which in the end will cost the conservatives votes, because those who might be fiscally conservative, and even moderately socially will have a hard time continuing to elect these types of individual. There has to be some sort of common sense in these decisions. And it sure is hard for me to sit back and use my religion to tell someone else they are doing something wrong.....because my religion tells me to disapprove.....

  9. It’s just hard to follow a person who has been at a job for a long time, whether coach, superintendent, or pastor. In this case it involves egos and a community who is not exactly sure what they do want. In today’s liberalization of American and the “me” generation it’s difficult to hold a coaching job unless you have the “it” to deal with all the mess. I lie HS and wish them much success.

  10. What is Biden's solution? Give away money to people who take out irresponsible loans? Invest hundreds of Billions into Green Energy? Send hundreds of billions to Ukraine and Israel to destroy things? All of these things, plus pandemic policies that he supported led to this inflation.

  16. Correct. The taking of innocent life isn't really the issue in their minds, it's the possessing and using the gun that's problematic.

  17. Yeah, I had to work with those people also. Especially at the end of the census.......and I was in the Nacogdoches area.....talking about some back country government haters.....any time you went to some of those communities, they'd look at you like "new genes for the gene pool"....especially around the Colmesneil area..................

  19. I know Benjamins key player did, MVP of the state football game. I'd imagine that's true for all the 1As just by numbers available. Not going to look every one up but Shelbyville every kid but one is listed on both max preps rosters. The point being football and basketball can coexist. Whether its sharing kids or not. And the idea of that football is killing good basketball coaches is a common excuse for bad basketball coaches to use. Does it happen? Sure. Do most HFC only care deeply about football? Yes. Do most basketball coaches only care deeply about basketball? Also yes. That's why this is an attractive job. Only do what you care about doing.

  20. This guy should be IMPEACHED for NOT FOLLOWING THE RULE OF LAW and instead of trying to destroy it. One impeachable offense after another, and the GOP goes after some bribery scheme, when they could get him for NOT defending the constitution.....IDIOTS everywhere. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/opinion/biden-gives-the-supreme-court-and-taxpayers-the-finger-with-his-latest-student-loan-bailout/ar-BB1llQQR?ocid=hpmsn&cvid=9b071a1088e94bdcb294737b41e0d2b5&ei=29 Biden is really not hiding the fact he’s intentionally trying to work around the Supreme Court and Congress to abuse the powers of his office to bribe young voters at taxpayers’ expense — all with a policy that solves nothing and costs everyday Americans dearly.

  23. Can't agree with this. We have a society that believes if something happens to them, then they remedy is to punish as many people as possible for what happened. I think the parents were terrible and did a bad job here, but we have to stop shifting blame for people's actions to others. The person who pulled the trigger is at fault here. Plain and simple. Now we are arresting parents, suing gun manufacturers, suing schools. It's ludicrous. We make excuses for violent criminals all over the country, just to turn around and go after people who weren't directly involved. There was no conspiracy here. This is a bad precedent, but exactly what the left wants to be able to continue their march against the 2nd amendment.

  25. And this again lies at the feet of our government. Their sole purpose in our economy should be to make sure that companies don't hold monopolies and that fair competition exists. Companies are in business to make money. And most are going to try and make all they can. They have to be held in check by the market, not by government price fixing. Larger corporations have used buying in bulk to negotiate better deals forever. The supplier knows he has larger guaranteed volumes selling to the larger company. You and yours like to complain about our food industry monopolies while Brandon is using the government to shut down Amish farms who sell meat that didn't go through FDA approval to KNOWING customers. You don't think that government overregulation has played a huge hand in the situation we have now? Where the meat prices are basically set by a handful of slaughterhouses across the country. The government has been so focused on regulating small businesses into oblivion, that they have failed at their job of preventing large corporations from controlling the market. Now it is easy for corporations to "fix" prices because they know it benefits the few to work together. As with soooo many things, if the government would have focused on enforcing the rules that were in place from the beginning instead of trying to come up with 100 new ones, we would not be here. "I'm from the government, and I'm here to help."

  26. Eh maybe. Or its an excuse. A lot of basketball only schools from 1A to 4A lost to schools with football. Lets look at the state tournament for small schools: 1A: Jayton, Benjamin, and Gordon all had deep football runs. 2A: New Home, Thrall, Shelbyville all have football, 3A:Holliday, Ponder, Cole and Hitchcock all have football. 4A: Stafford, Silsbee, and Randall have football. I think its more so no one really wants to invest the time and effort into something they don't enjoy (if they coach football). Or if there is an opportunity to be around a school and culture that matches what your passion you want to do it. You get to be the AD and your the primetime of the community. Also yes you don't have to share kids.

  29. To be fair, that's not just the left. That's most of our elected officials. Some even create problems with legislation, then complain about the problem they created, and blame the other guys for it, but don't do anything to actually fix the problem. The problem is, as a whole we as the citizenry have voted for this. And I'm not sure we can (or want to) fix it.

  30. Either an older coach that is trying to up his retirement will take it or a young coach that believes they can do what no one else has been able to do will take it. In any case, it takes A LOT, to fix a program and more often than not is has little to do with the coaches.

  32. The only way to regulate profit margins are through communist, socialist, and imperialist governments and essentially all that you would be doing is taking those profits and giving it to government to piss away again
    1 point
  33. Companies/Corporations have a standard that they set for themselves where they at minimum do not change the money made in profits each year. That is a problem with the stock market, you want higher income each year that you are invested in these companies each year so it causes 2 things. 1) More sales to increase profit or 2) Increased prices to cover the lack of or stalemate of sales There is such thing as "greedflation" but it is enabled by the government. 95% of Americans (this is a made up number) would not take a pay cut to increase the value of their company. Why would you expect the company to take a pay cut to assist Brandon and his inflation?

  34. Let me get this straight.... so the wealthy gets tax breaks which is is meant to stimulate the economy, you know, trickle down to us. They raise minimum wage and even though the tax breaks were out into to place for that, they raise prices and have the PEOPLE take on that cost which in turn let's them keep their money in their pocket, the people then points fingers at the working man/woman and Americans defend this system? The wealthy truly has you guys brainwashed. This is just as bad as our tipping system

Not anymore Alto was 0-10 awful I’d say year before that they were pretty good , but they need a lot of things to change for them to get any better they’ll be lucky to win 3 games this upcoming year if anything like last . By the way kids on last year team for Alto based on what I saw had a bit of an attitude problem.

  46. Parents should responsible for their children. You knew there was a mental illness issue. You didn’t check your surroundings and didn’t do any preventable actions. You didn’t talk or get him help. You weren’t the parent. This is the parent fault.
