To be fair this was during the Trump Administration. That McDouble is now $2.99 and you won't find a salad for less than $7. In California who knows.1 point

Why invest it in a foreign company ? Texas Instruments still exists and has been in this field for years. Maybe if it wasn't a foreign company more people would be on board with this. On top of that only 22.73 % of the jobs are only temporary for construction. Of the 4500 permanent positions how many of those will be held by Texans or U.S. Citizens ? Those could all be held by foreign citizens. You want to act like Biden is doing something good for Americans, but your article doesn't prove that.1 point

Blanco and Javier are the only two starting pitchers that are healthy the rest of the starters are triple A it is like playing in the majors with a JV pitching staff and just think Blanco is a big surprise he came out of nowhere to be a shut down pitcher, at least for three games1 point

And right now the GOP has a very slim margin in a lot of areas when it comes to the state legislature, especially in those districts where a GOP member won by less than 5% of the vote. Which means, they could be gone this November or next election. Are you going to be okay when the Democrats retake Austin and repeal their abortion law? I doubt it, because one good thing about Pro-Birthers, is they always find a way to try to insult people and control other people's lives, and want less government......It's freaking amazing they can't see the forest through the trees. So we're getting our own money back? And I thought tax breaks for big business was bad? isn't that what your side of the aisle is always telling us? I mean, aren't you, and many Democrats, always talking about how big businesses need to pay "their fair share" (yet also can't define "fair share")?1 point

Hard work, discipline, mental and physical toughness, selflessness and doing the little things right are more important than any offense or defense you run. Whoever does those things whatever they choose to run will work.1 point

Not apples to oranges. You are criminally punishing parents for the actions of their children, where do you stop? This country has gone down a dangerous road of allowing prosecution and civil suits of people who are not directly involved in things because we spend so much time looking to blame people for what has happened. This is nothing but a move by the left to infringe on gun rights. It's not justice.1 point

It's the same logic for many teenagers. Heck, I had friends in Middle School 6-7 grade that would get into their parents liquor and gun cabinets. If you don't think it happens with teenage boys in East Texas then you're wrong.1 point

Then it would be the same if you bought a 16 year old a car or let them use your car and they killed someone, because of a judgement error with their driving. I still can't blame the parents for purchasing their son a gun, and no one knows how he got it. His mom posted that they bought him an early Christmas Present, and I'm sure that he began to look for it. His father stated that if he knew his son was going to commit this crime he would have never bought the gun for him.0 points

Deeper in debt. The only thing we win is it weakens Russia according to this article. They're already showing that they are not as strong as most including myself thought they were. If that war ended today with either Russia taking over the whole country or Ukraine remaining sovereign we would see cheaper prices. By prolonging that war further it hurts Americans more.0 points

In the Austin area...sure this is a bad thing for some reason. https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/biden-administration-agrees-6-4-090030949.html Biden administration agrees to provide $6.4 billion to Samsung for making computer chips in Texas JOSH BOAK Updated Mon, April 15, 2024 at 6:06 AM CDT2 min read 278 WASHINGTON (AP) — The Biden administration has reached an agreement to provide up to $6.4 billion in direct funding for Samsung Electronics to develop a computer chip manufacturing and research cluster in Texas. The funding announced Monday by the Commerce Department is part of a total investment in the cluster that, with private money, is expected to exceed $40 billion. The government support comes from the CHIPS and Science Act, which President Joe Biden signed into law in 2022 with the goal of reviving the production of advanced computer chips domestically. “The proposed project will propel Texas into a state of the art semiconductor ecosystem,” Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo said on a call with reporters. “It puts us on track to hit our goal of producing 20% of the world’s leading edge chips in the United States by the end of the decade.” Raimondo said she expects the project will create at least 17,000 construction jobs and more than 4,500 manufacturing jobs. Samsung's cluster in Taylor, Texas, would include two factories that would make four- and two-nanometer chips. Also, there would be a factory dedicated to research and development, as well as a facility for the packaging that surrounds chip components. The first factory is expected to be operational in 2026, with the second being operational in 2027, according to the government. The funding also would expand an existing Samsung facility in Austin, Texas. Lael Brainard, director of the White House National Economic Council, said Samsung will be able to manufacture chips in Austin directly for the Defense Department as a result. Access to advanced technology has become a major national security concern amid competition between the U.S. and China. In addition to the $6.4 billion, Samsung has indicated it also will claim an investment tax credit from the U.S. Treasury Department. The government has previously announced terms to support other chipmakers including Intel and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. in projects spread across the country.0 points

Again, NONE of this would change anything! It is NOT a gun problem, it's a people problem. I don't understand why democrats can't understand this.0 points

I know Benjamins key player did, MVP of the state football game. I'd imagine that's true for all the 1As just by numbers available. Not going to look every one up but Shelbyville every kid but one is listed on both max preps rosters. The point being football and basketball can coexist. Whether its sharing kids or not. And the idea of that football is killing good basketball coaches is a common excuse for bad basketball coaches to use. Does it happen? Sure. Do most HFC only care deeply about football? Yes. Do most basketball coaches only care deeply about basketball? Also yes. That's why this is an attractive job. Only do what you care about doing.0 points

Oh, so this IS a bad thing for Texas and those who will have jobs here? What I was expecting, well, that and the straw man arguments. When did 'conservatives' get so terrible at 'whataboutisms' that have ZIP comparison value?-1 points
