Waskom right now has 23 JV and 24 Varsity which is fairly good numbers for the numbers in High School. Coach Lawson was expecting about 52 and we still might have that but not right now. Had three move ins one is on JV the other two are on Varsity but one on varsity may have to play JV this year. UIL will have to give approval so we will know in a week or two. Two are from EF and look like good ballplayers but I don't know them from squat just heard about them.

I'm late to the party District 9-4A D1: 1. Kilgore - Really good team, looked dominant in 7on7 2. Lindale - Looked very young in 7on7 but they are lindale and always reload and beat people with coaching and physicality on the OL 3. Chapel Hill - Lost OL, Backfield looking forward to CFB, I see them dropping games in the regular season, dont let them get hot 4. Pine Tree - Not sure, looks to be tough but cant put a whole season together 5. Palestine - New coach, new offense, no qb from what i can tell from last year, no stud rb 6. Henderson - "Night and day" supposedly, will believe it when i see it 7. Mabank - I love my school but not sure they will have a JV team by the end of the year after getting slaughtered that much Thoughts, glad to represent mabank on these threads

Coaches are generally paranoid by nature...but if I get a bad roster and don't have a kids name or get a kids name wrong and the parent complains....I direct them to Coach lol

I'm not following this... what are we talking about here? Examples? My experience says coaches tend to worry about rosters on two occasions: picture day and playoff games. Other than that, players can and will drop off or add on. Not sure what's the big deal. Is there a program out there who is abusing this?

I'm worried about Tucker. There is video of him working out (Which is a huge step in the right direction), but he still looks rough and far from returning. Having his bat and glove back would be huge for a playoff run. Pitching and hitting seems to be clicking at the same time right now, which will go a long way towards winning the division.

Nac has never been short on athletes. They just seem to struggle pulling it all together. There's no reason they couldn't/shouldn't be near the top of the district every year with THS and Marshall. But like you said...it's hard to change 50 years of losing. And that's why I think the community support lacks. But winning will solve a lackadaisical fanbase real quick. Best of luck to Nac.....except when they play the Mavs!
