I have no words. Well I do but they wouldn't be popular. I'm sure you know what I would say. I know the talent that has come through in the last 3 years and I know the work many have put in during the off season to be better. I also know why some moved to play for other teams. It definitely leaves one shaking their head.

In Luds defense. Last season they was 0-10 and they’ve improved on that. They haven’t won a district game since the era Racer is also talking about and they did that this year. So there’s that.

As far as Gladewater. Most know my stance. Year in and year out, the talent is there.....if you say otherwise, you're just simply making excuses. Not world beater talent....but more than enough to compete for the top 2 spots of the district. In the last 3 years, the Hometown boy is currently 9-22. Those 9 wins are Sabine(3), Spring Hill(1), Daingerfield(1), West Rusk(1), Atlanta(1), and White Oak(3). They should beat White Oak to end the season which will have them at 10 wins for the last 3 years with 7 of those 10 wins coming over White Oak and Sabine. 2022 - 3-8 2023 - 3-8 2024 - 4-6 and missing the playoffs. Gladewater has never been a bottom of the barrel East Texas football program nor should it be.

Seventeen kids quit. Unless the coaches are physically abusing the players there is no excuse for their actions. I know of this happening for no logical reason in communities 65 years ago and 45 years ago. People in those communities are still calling those who quit "quitters." I watched Coach Biles and Coach Willard coach Mount Vernon teams as well as they could have been coached. If not for injuries each could have won a state championship. I watched the video of the Mount Vernon-Malakoff game, and the Mount Vernon kids played their tails off. They were physically outmatched. If parents and/or school board members contributed to this situation they are true entitled quitters. The junior, sophomores and freshmen football players will suffer from this episode more than anyone.

I would think Coach Ludlow is safe. He scheduled wins in non-district and got them. Plus if you lose the coach, you lose the son. Genetics may be the best thing he has going for him at this point.

Not living in 2023 just an observation. I have seen ND play they are good but not near as good as their fans think they are. They beat: GW - really down this year WR - really down this year Troup- not very good, went toe to toe with ND for 3qtrs. ND is good, but not State Championship or even region 3 winner, good. Yes for the 15th time i have seen them play.

He said he did not get wore out. It was a matter of y’all came out and played! There were several missed opportunities on our side along with the ref really messing up the tempo at halftime with giving kaegan and aadin both personal fouls for saying “let’s go” and “come on!” Not sure why our kids can’t pump each other up and celebrate when they’ve done something good!? But in my opinion that totally changed the dynamic of our whole game. (Just my opinion) and not taking away from Overton at all bc They played an amazing second half. That was a tough and great game. Congrats Overton!

Former Longview and Spring Hill football coach Robert Bero contacted me earlier in the week and asked that we help promote their game/event. I don't have much more than that but Greater Houston-FCA reached out to East Texas Coaches Association about playing this game. Houston used to play someone out of Louisiana, but it was discontinued for whatever reason.

That really depends on your definition of a district champion. If they have the same record but one has a head to head win over the other, then they’re the champion. If there are three tied with the same record, then they are co champions in my book. So if Shelbyville and Garrison both are 4-1 after Friday, then Shelbyville is the outright champion. Same if Joaquin and Shelbyville are both 4-1. Joaquin is champion. But some see it differently. There is not a path for a three way tie for 1st in this district. There are a couple of scenarios that could wind up in a three way tie for 2nd or 3rd.

Should be a great atmosphere and excellent battle. This game has been a point of conversation in the community all season long, i know our fans will show up in force. I feel like you guys are going to bring a great crowd as well.

Again, talking purely about match ups here. Lindale is at their best when they are running down hill. Henderson very similar. Neither team can throw the ball particularly well. I think the Lindale’s front 7 will give them the edge in this game. However, I think if Henderson’s offense gets going I don’t think Lindale has the fire power to keep up in a high scoring game. Low scoring give me Lindale; if it breaks into the 20s give me Henderson

Here’s the scenario for each team: Shelbyville 7-2, 3-1 vs Hemphill- outright district champion with a win and a Joaquin loss. Could fall as far as 4th if they slip up and lose to Hemphill. Joaquin 6-3, 3-1 @ Garrison- co champions with Shelbyville with a win. Outright champions with a win and Shelbyville loss. Either of these scenarios gives the Rams the #1 seed. A loss combined with Shelbyville and Timpson wins drops us to #4. Garrison 7-2, 3-1 vs Joaquin. co Champions with Shelbyville if both win, but Shelbyville gets the #1 seed. Dogs drop to #3 with a loss. Timpson- 4-4, 2-2 @ San Augustine- locked in at #4 with a win. Can climb higher depending on wins by Garrison and Shelbyville. They do not have a path to the #1 seed. San Augustine 4-5, 1-3- vs Timpson : The Wolfpack can slide in at #4 with a win. They do not have a path to a higher seed. Hemphill 1-8, 0-4 @ Shelbyville- mathematically eliminated and playing for pride. They can wreak havoc on the final standings if they can pull the upset.

Just watched some of Fleming’s tape, he can sling it. It looks so natural. Shelbyville got a QB farm or something?

Here's the playoff bracket as of today 11/21 for region 2 3AD1 from top bracket to bottom in order and I have included game locations tba: Winnsboro vs Liberty Eylau-will play on Friday in Mount Pleasant at 2 pm Jefferson vs Malakoff-will play on Friday in Tyler at Tyler Rose Stadium at 2 pm District 5, Mexia is 1st, GV is 2nd, Maypearl is 3rd, and Whitney is 4th District 6, Palmer is 1st, Pottsboro is 2nd, Whitesboro is 3rd, and Pilot Point is 4th. District 7, Koff is 1st, Winny is 2nd, Commerce is 3rd, Minny is 4th District 8, Jefferson is 1st, Liberty Eylau is 2nd, Atlanta is the 3rd, Tatum is the 4th.

I will add some more thoughts and keys on this one next week but i think the most interesting dynamic will be how does each team respond with some adversity since neither has seen any resistance since 2nd-3rd week of September

#20 is going to be the next Dude for EF but he is still young and it shows he dominated lesser teams but has not showed up as much against the better teams in district light get to bright for him but he made a few plays tonight. Also #10 at WR another freshman will be Difference maker I think next year we don’t utilize him enough to me he makes plays when given opportunity but I agree we need to find NuNu some help but he sure is fun to watch never know if he tackled or not till you hear the whistle

Nu Nu is a top notch player but he needs some people around him, he wears out during the game playing both ways. We give Espy rest on offense now with Agundez so he will have a little left in the tank, but again Nu Nu can ruin a game for a lot of teams, he kept us on our toes

Midlo continues to show their prowess as one of the consistently successful programs. No one takes them seriously, they are “down”, and yet, here they are again. 8-1. Playing a wk 11 game for a district title. Guaranteed to host a rd 1 playoff game. Keep stackin em up.

In district 10 Little Cypress-Mauriceville locked up first place by virtue of a 43-40 over Huffman Hargrave tonight as well as edging Bridge City 21-18 last week. Hargrave and Bridge City play for second place next Friday. Fourth place is between Vidor and Lumberton with both at 3-3. Vidor, who beat Lumberton, plays at winless Livingston. Lumberton rounds out district visiting LCM. So I'm guessing it will be Vidor in the fourth spot.

I’d have to think really hard to remember if we’ve ever had a comeback like that. I’ll be honest, I didn’t like our chances at halftime. I knew we could move the ball, but we needed some stops. Our Defense turned it up and had a “bend but don’t break” second half while the Offense did what they always do. Heckuva team effort. Great win Mustangs!!

Last Center turnover was Belin backing up to go deep, loads the ball, it drops to the turf and Athens returns it 40 yds for the score. Belin walks to sideline after he fumbled. No attempt to chase. Didn’t come back in game after that stunt. Athens broke their will tonight.

Lindale played really well tonight. They’re own coaching lost the game for them which for Lindale is pretty crazy. Our coaching normally is a bright spot

That was the biggest boneheaded move by the offensive coordinator but it wasn’t the only one. After Lindale scored and then got the interception he put the regular offense back in instead of the power offense that was working and we went 3 and out. Just bad decisions

definitely shouldnt have thrown on that last play before OT on 4th and 1. but..shoulda woulda coulda. tried to catch PT cheating to the line. risk/reward type play. PT battled back as well. that 4 man backfield was giving them all kinds of fits tonight. that pass was like the only pass of the 2nd half for lindale pretty much. maybe the 2nd.

Hmmm. Looks like JT has a shot. There is some potential tie break issues, but a win by JT against Red Oak gives them a chance to make the playoffs.

The Ponies are back to competing with Queen city for the Rudy Poo Poo king of Cass county. They were actually starting to put a football program together the past 10 years until they ran their coach off the season before last.

Thank you so much! He works hard. This kid has been putting on his own practices and exercising without being asked literally since he was about 7 when we first put him in sports! He’s been obsessed ever since.

At the 2a level 4 out essentially equates to 8 out as most go both ways and well with limited numbers depth or lack there of can make a good team bad real fast

That's so true, but when a school district "offers" job to said parent and kid gets to go to school there, there's the loophole to "beat" recruiting and IDK if anything can ever be done about that

No established coach will touch this job after this. Kids literally quit before playing Malkoff, shows they are scared. Parents supported it shows they are weak. School Board members involved, shows they are entitled. On top of this MV community will play the victim.
