Actually he WAS kinda funny. It livened up the board anyway. Maybe Scotty lost him when he was beaming him up.

No disrespect meant at all, but most of us here would prefer to be in the Marshall, Kilgore, Nacogdoches district. There's more history there and it's a much easier drive. We are much bigger than Paris & N Lamar and I think we're much better suited to playing the bigger teams such at Nac & Marshall. No argument from me on that..... but we must play the hand that we are dealt....just like you guys.

Should be a good game. I've made no predictions on this one & I won't. I still think we'll lose 1 district game this year & I said before the season started that Mt Pleasant was the game I feared. But SS has stepped up now, so there's 2 games to fear. The only prediction I made was that Paris would not beat us at Grim. And that was made before their troubles began. Nobody at THS takes MP lightly.

Well....that sounds dishonest. If MP beats Texas High then they are in 2nd place behind SS. If Texas High wins we'll be tied with them. Don't know about you, but we don't celebrate 2nd place at Texas Who. I guess they do at Mt Pee.

I agree with what you're saying.....I don't go around comparing scores. But when somebody with the talent & expectations of Paris loses by 30+ to a 3A team that's not an elite team, then something is wrong. It's not like it was fluke. Then they lay another egg against Lindale........>What do you call it????????????

Dang Uncle.....you are making me think I've shortchanged my own team. No...really.....no way are we as good as the last 2-3 years. This team has tons of potential, but this was the first COMPLETE game they've played. I'll have to see another or two before gushing over them. I think being one- dimensional the way NL is played into the way the game played out. This team has a long way to go before they get to a serious playoff contender. I'll still be a little suprised if we don't lose at least 1 district game. But I will certainly be excited if we don't. No disrespect, but Texas High has way more talent that NL. But IMO, the BIG difference was in the caliber of teams we've been playing. Evangel, Waxahachie, & Arkansas High got us ready for district.

I'm not SHOCKED by the Lindale-Paris score.....surprised but not shocked. Paris got their heads handed to them by 3A Pittsburg....the same Pittsburg that LE ran off the field. I'm not sure a victory over Paris raises Lindale to another level. A lot of us were sounding Paris warning bells at the first of the year. The talent is there, but I have never seen anything developing with that talent. It's a carbon copy of last year......only worse. I am not a Paris hater.....but if I was a Paris fan I'd be livid with the direction of the team.

I loved the Tomato Bowl. How unique is that? Flaming Js and dodging the train. I loved it !!!! And the people were great eventhough we thumped them. I'd love to play JVille every year.

And next year they'll say...."We hung with you" Really I expect a close game. MP does always play us tough, but No Lamar has the same history. Each year is different. I've already said that we would probably lose a district game this year & either this game or the Sulphur Springs game is most likely to be the one. We'll see. And like bordertown said......"The Eyes of Texas" is a song played sometimes like "Eye of the Tiger". It is neither the school song OR the fight song. It used to be played only at the Arkansas High game, but has become a fan favorite so it is played more often now.

Jerseys are similar, colors are orange but not burnt orange, fight song is different, coaches wear kahki pants & black shirts............besides that you are right. BTW....all were the same before Norton was even in college. Do I sense some venom in your pregame schtick???? We measure wins here......not "hangin" close. And yeah, I'd get tired of referring back to 2002 also. I don't think I'd bring that up if that's my best shot.

I wish it were.....but I don't believe it. The only team that Texas High considers a rivalry is Arkansas High and that has diminished quite a bit. As far as Texas Who.......you don't need to call us by name. Just say "Those District Champs From the Last 6 Years"......You should at least recognize us from behind, because you haven't been in front of us for years :lol:
