  1. You're wrong big boy. Wait to stick it to your home team. Man.
  2. None of the above scenarios mentions Jax having a chance. If they win out and eat Hallsvile and Henderson, they're in the mix . . . why weren't they mentioned? Or, am I missing something? Jax has lost WH, Nac, and Kilgore. But, if they win out, thye would have beaten Marshall and Hallsville. What then ? I'm so confused !!!
  3. To use the words "can't" and "won't" in this district this year shows you haven't been paying attention.
  4. Yeah, I played for Jax back in mid 70s. The 11th team was . . . Chapel Hill. What a tough deal. Every game was a district game. No non-district games.
  5. Carmen Boyd-Anderson from Jax -- offered bt Nebraska, TCU, Iowa State, etc...
  6. Amazingly, if Jax wins out, WH wins out, and Kilgore wins out, Jax is in the playoffs and Marshall would be out. The Mavs still have WH on the road, but Kilgore at home. Nac is still alive, too, after their win over Jax as is Hallsville, despite their loss to WH last week. We're hoping for a WH, Kilgore, Jax sweep for the last 3 games.:smileybanger:
  7. Jim Canter, the head football coach and AD for Jacksonville High School from 1971 - 1979, passed away today after a long battle with cancer. Coach Canter was 59-38-1 in his 9 years at Jacksonville HS, including appearances in the State Quarterfinals in 1971 and two (2) State Semi-Final appearances in 1974 and 1975. He also had a district co-champion team in 1979. Great man, great coach . . . he will be missed.
  8. Yeah, BUT . . . if Marshall loses to WH and Kilgore and Jax wins its last 3 (PT, Hallsville, and Hendrson), then it's WH (bg school), Kilgore, and Jax. Also, if Nac beats Marshall or WH, they're in the race. In other words, there is still way too much football to be played. Yeah, it's unlikely, but possible. WH and Kilgore are
  9. I'm hoping WH wins out and Jax wins out in 12AAAA. That would put WH, Jax, and Kilgore in the playoffs. Plus, WH would get TX High the first round. Ouch.
  10. I thought heads up didn't matter, only points. If Jax and Mavs have two losses each, then it comes down to points, not who won the heads up game, am I wrong. If so, please explain 'cause I got confused as heck last year (until Jax was stripped of their wins and made the whole points thing mute). Hmmm . . . good question. I'll find out and post. But I think it's what I said because the only way points come into play is if there are three teams that beat each other (Jax, Kilgore, Marshall). In my scenario, I believe it's heads up because again, under my scenario, Kilgore would have beaten Marshall and Jax beat Marshall -- so points are irrelevent.
  11. Hey. you'll do anything for your team, you know?
  12. Mavs are starting to roll just like the last 3 years in this district . . . watch out WH !
  13. PREDICTION: This district will come down to points. 21 pts is the max tiebreaker, i.e, . . Jax beat Marshall by 7 and lost to Kilgore by 2, etc... The best case scenario for Jax is for them to win out (5-2), WH to win out (7-0), and Kilgore to win out (6-1). Marshall would have 2 losses like Jax but the Indians beat the Mavs. Between Marshall, Jax, and Kilgore, the Mavs and Bulldogs control their own destiny. Jax does not. Thus, Jax must win out to have a chance to get in. No easy task with road games at improved Nac AND they have to go to go to Hallsville.
  14. I hope that WH runs the table. Cuz if Jax win their last 4, they're in the plyoffs. Could be tough as WH still has Marshall. All I can say is . . . . Go WHITEHOUSE, win 'em all !!!!!
  15. As far as 3 losses in a row for district games, you have to go back to the 1995 season when Jax went 3-7 and obviuosly missed the playoffs. Lost last 3 district games in a row. BUT --went to Quarterfinals next 2 years in a row and made 9 straight playoff appearances before last year's ineligible player fiasco blew the 10th in a row. By the by, Jax lost their first 5 games (all non-district) of the 2003 season -- Copeland's first year. However, they won the next 5 (all district games), including 24-20 over Adrian Peterson and Palestine, enroute to a 5-0 district championship. Lost in Bi-Dist to TX High. Jax 30 Nac 14
  16. There are so many "all-state" teams -- which one ? The most common one is the AP.
  17. Thanks, it's all in fun. Good luck WH and Jax.
  18. The players have already been talking about it and laughing! They realize that the new wildcat head in the middle of the field is real nice and gives the field a new and very improved look. The also realize that the indians dancing on their NEW trademark, don't hold a candle to someone dancing on the indian head in the tomato bowl. They are kind of hoping it happens so they can laugh about it! There will be NO stomping on team's logos. Just play the game and leave it on the field, please.
  19. This was all in fun. Good luck to both teams tonight !
  20. Jax kicks off, WH tackled, game over, Jax wins again, Homecoming Queen cries
  21. Whitaker scores, power run, 2pt conversion good !!!!!!! Jax 35 WH 34
  22. Boyd-Anderson scores from 20 yds out, Jax going for 2 with 11 seconds
  23. Jax at WH 20, 3rd and short, 42 seconds remaining
