  2. EF still has a good coach, but they also have a school board and a few "last" names in the community that run the show. I mean think about it, 3 yrs ago they interviewed for the AD position for months. Got down to the final two and end up hiring a coach that nobody even knew was in the race, but you can believe "somebody" knew he was in the race. That's how things are done in EF and that's why kids are leaving. Waskom & EF are only minutes apart, but the school and programs are worlds apart.
  3. The offense went from a one RB set w/about 70% passing to a two back set with more emphasis on actually trying to establish a running game.
  4. If your starting QB suffers an injury there is no position to be won. Just the same derogatory tone as always..
  5. Not sure if I'm doing this right, but lets be clear. He broke his ankle in the second games of last years season, so there was no competition for the starting position. He played on a broke ankle for four weeks, play was very limited very and he would not tell anyone he was hurting because he did not care what position he played he just wanted to play. Also, the offense was changed when he got hurt & the backup qb took over. As far as right now he is still recovering from having bone marrow taken from the bone of his right leg to be put in his broke ankle in addition to 5 screws and a plate. So get your facts straight, he did not loose anything, he suffered an injury. Ryan is an excellent qb, but if your going to comment at least post the truth
  6. Prayers needed for Logan Hughes, surgery tomorrow. Bone graph, plates and screws to correct the ankle he broke last football season during the EF vs Jefferson game. He will have 12 weeks of no weight baring on his ankle, crucial that all goes well so he will be ready for the upcoming football season. Thank you in advance!
  7. Yes he will be able to play.. His dad lives in the district & his mom (me) is having to move out of the EF school district. The move had nothing to do with football, just circumstances beyond anyone's control
  8. Now you want to clown, knee slapper.. To be clear I got a private message from someone who did not like what I said. Not sure what type of flirting you called yourself doing, but glad your married otherwise you might need some practice. Probably a good idea that you just stick to football, as a comedian I would say epic fail... Oh dang a women who knows football and can be a smart###, bet I really get the pot stirred now. I mean in all honesty I was just glad you didn't insinuate I was toothless like the LSUfan poster did one time. I kind of took that personal cause I have a lot of $ invested in my mouthful of pretty teeth!
  9. Lol...I am calm & yes i know for a mom to have a clue is unheard of, but I don't get butt hurt. I just get private messages after some of my post. I have seen Kevin play, my son used to play with him, I havnt got to watch MJ. I know speed, agility, and the ability to find the hole are factors when it comes to running backs, but to say who has the better blockers would probably open up another can of worms to be argued because we all know those kids making the blocks are not a factor. Kind of like the O line, receivers and type of offense isn't a factor when it comes to the QB... And yea stirring the pot is fun, I get on here and post from time to time because sometimes these guys let me down and tend to get boring
  10. I never said my son was the better QB, I said they were both good, but two different styles. All these kids excel in different ways, that doesn't make any one of them better then the other.
  11. Okay... Been biting my tongue, and a couple of posters I want to speak to so just posting. Let me start off with I can be referred to as varsity14, or you can call me Jessica, the mom of #11 who plays for EF, the injured QB who has been criticized one to many times. Gonna try to keep it short, but that's not likely, but I assure some will be left butt hurt and some will sit back and smile. First I don't know everything about football, but as a female I know enough to be dangerous, and enough to know that some of the comments I see on here cannot be chalked up to anything outside of sheer stupidity. I let it slide when "thegreat1or2" made some comments about EF's #11 a few weeks ago because first of all his uncle is my brother-in-law, and two because I have yet to figure out how someone can critique another player when up until this year the only game he saw him play in was the game he played against him in. I think comments were based on hearsay and that hearsay was probably based upon a little jealousy that I don't think I should dwell on, which is also why I think he back peddled when he got called out. Now to Wildcat1 or 1wildcat, the poster who made the comment about going up against #7 vs #11 and one or two more deragotory post "Lord please forgive me" I ask for forgiveness because you are my elder and I know I should show some respect, but you sir have no clue. I mean in all honesty I shouldn't have to say this, but when you have to play another player due to injury and especially in the QB position adjustments have to be made to better suit the player having to fill the spot. Now I am not a rocket scientist, but if you have watched #7 and #11 even a blind man could see you got two very different style QB's. Another thing, #11 played two games this year, both games were against two very defensive teams, that doesn't make him the weaker QB and it #### sure doesn't give you the right to call him or any other kid out on this forum unless your giving them props which all the kids and coaches deserve. I assure you sir that you could not handle the adversity #11 faced last year at barely the age of 15 being a freshman starting on EF's varsity cause honestly that's just unheard of, I also promise you that if you knew about the heart #11 plays with, the love he has for the game, the time he and his dad have invested in addition to myself and his sister you would probably feel like a much smaller person then what I see you as at this point. Your dogging a kid who has been playing on a broke ankle, a kid that ran 85 yrds to score 6 on a broke ankle. I mean you might be a pro when it comes to football, and despite my not caring for your comments, I find them comical because I know my son has gotten about ten letters from OSU & he is only a sophomore, just turned 16 the end of June. Anyway... I know you have been offered a cup of coffee, but what I want to offer you is the opportunity to come play catch with #11. I promise you sir after the second catch you would waive the white flag. Why? He is a passing QB, there are not a lot of those around which is why running game is so crucial for many teams. Both he and #7 are good QB's but very different styles so in all honesty for you to compare them is just stupidity. I pray when he goes back to the doctor he is released, I know his coach wants him at 100%, but my biggest prayer is that I can personally hand you the crow you will eat come next year and his senior year!!!
  12. You think. This thread and every other thread. Commenting on another post just didn't work the way I wanted, but thanks for clearing that up
  13. Every thread turns into a Waskom thread. Being confident is fine, but nobody else can talk about their football program because it turns into another Waskom discussion.
