If this is deja vu, Waskom played it's toughest game in the semi-finals.

I'm thinking Franklin's offense is too much for EB. I may actually go to this game since it's in Cypress. I'll be the guy with the Waskom State Championship shirt on.

Some of the kids on this team faced that high flying Refugio team in 2013, then as Juniors faced Newton and Sonora in 2014. So I think you can definitely say these kids have seen it all when it comes to speed, size and talent. They beat a 4A team in Center who went 3 rounds into the playoffs and lost to Gilmer (defending State Champs). There's legitimate reasons why people think Waskom has seen way better teams than Idalou. I think Waskom wins big, but Idalou didn't get this far by mistake so Waskom has to treat them as if they were Newton, 2013 Refugio etc. etc.

I live in Houston and said that I would definitely be at reliant supporting every team from (903). But I'm pulling for Waskom harder than everyone else.

Well like Junebug, A lot of these kids parents are from Waskom and have family that live in Waskom. Most of the kids who played last Thursday parents went to Waskom in the mid-late 90s

From what I've been hearing in Marshall, a lot of their kids are interested in playing in Waskom. Don't know if it's just a rumor or not.

This game is starting to remind me of Friday Night Lights with Newton playing the role of Dallas Carter. I only say that b/c no seems to think Waskom can win this game.

Seeing as how Newton keeps bragging about a 3A beating WOS, I don't see them standing a chance against Gilmer. Trophy probably already reads "Gilmer" on it

People have the idea that just cause a school is bigger they're automatically better... There's a lot of 4A teams that would lose to a lot of 3A teams. I'm willing to bet this year's Gilmer team would've beaten a lot of 5A playoff teams. If you wanna crown Newton, then crown em. But nonetheless this is why we play the game.

This is the game everyone wanted to see. Speed vs Speed. This will be the ultimate matchup. Waskom's tempo was slowed last week for only the 2nd time this year since week 1 and they still managed the big plays. I'm looking for Keeling take of the collars and release the greyhounds this week as Newton will do the same. These guys better be well rested cause there's gonna be a lot of offense in this game.
