I was telling @Gametyme the other night (007 was right behind me), as good as Longview is now...this is only the beginning of a string of very good Lobo teams...

JR class all the way down to the 6th graders. Talent, talent, talent.

I see that pipeline isn't drying up anytime soon. Lufkin has a small window with these 10th graders because we don't have much coming up. They 9th graders have some pieces that should fit nicely in 2 years when they're SRs. I'm all in on my futures bet lol. Sorry im Iate bro you know I don't venture over here to often.

  2. You guys talking Texas recruiting are in my wheel house. I tried to catch up on what all has been said from about page 30 and on. I don't think Texas ends up #1. Alabama is probably going to finish at the top but a top 3 finish is gonna happen maybe 2 if we can go out and have a big season. Missing on Hill hurt. Not sure what to think of David Hicks. Gut tells me OU. Toviano is a mystery but I'm getting LSU vibes. Wonder if Texas circles back around for Bravion Rodgers. Texas in desperate need of an edge player. Wilson is probably a pipe dream but Akana I think is a reality. Jordan Matthews going to the Vols was also a bummer.

Went back and read...no where did I say that I got my info from a single Texas site. However, I'm sure they're more informed on Texas recruiting than you are. lol

But I guess the info that you get from A&M sites make you an expert, right?

It's 2022. It's not hard to get and properly interpret info, and you also don't know me or who I talk to.

Tell ya what, for instance, Mikal Harrison's pops is @Gametyme. Been talking football with him for over a decade. Why don't you tell him where MHP is leaning since, you're the expert.

Texas has a pretty good shot at finishing with the #1 class. You can be mad and call it fake news all you want, but that's just the facts and reality of the situation.

Sorry I'm late to the party lol. It was looking like it was going to be Texas but the spots are feeling up. They told him he would have to commit before Hale to guarantee a spot. Texas is still pushing as of now. Now TCU has emerged as the favorite if he doesn't choose Texas. Malcolm Kelley has been huge in his recruitment to the Horned Frogs. Houston still on the outside looking in and he loves Cal but it's to far from home. Oklahoma is pretty much out of it at this point. He is in no rush to make a decision.

Normally this thread is 7 pages long by now.......never seen the LP/Nac thread so quiet.

Most Lufkin fans have checked out. Lufkin should beat Nac fairly easy tomorrow night unless our offense wets the bed again. Which is possible I suppose. Lufkin is on the uptick. These 10th graders we got are going to special.  They probably got at least 5-6 D1 kids in that class alone and another 5 to 6 that should no doubt play college football at some level.

ESPN just released their top 300 rankings for the 2023 (JR) class.

Two from the district made the cut.

Longview WR Jalen Hale is ranked the #2 WR in the nation, #12 overall player in the nation, #1 WR in TX and #3 overall player in TX.

Wylie East DE Anthony James is ranked the #10 DE in the nation, #88 overall player in the nation, #1 DE in TX and #15 overall player in TX.

My guy checked in at #102 overall in the ESPN 300. I can't wait for the season to start. Temple is about to give Westlake all they want.

Agree....not confident at all in this staff and these seniors. Not just based on what I’ve seen on the field either. And Forget that rivalry bs y’all are talking about. I’ll be shocked if this one is close. But it’s 2020....

To see the meltdown from the Lobo faithful if they lost this one would be priceless lol.

Offense struggled imo, defense was on field too long. I’m expecting something similar in this one.

I'll have Nasty tuned up Friday night.  I'll need you to be my eyes again lol. I'll be at my son game as they take on Waxahachie.  The kid has had a decent sophmore season for Temple a little over 600 total yards with 8 TDs. I was telling PA 2020 has been weird maybe something strange happens at Lobo Friday night. Ill have Chad bring the magic 8 ball.

Yea....I don’t like picking a rival over my team, but i just don’t feel confident at all picking Lufkin or even picking a close football game. I just hope for the best.

At least North Shore and the Steelers are playing well this season, because LSU and Lufkin are giving me heartburn..

Lol them Bayou Bengals looking rough. The Longhorns haven't been much better. Lufkin is building for the future. Hopefully the coaching staff gets it figured out. I'd be shocked if Lufkin beats Longview Friday night.

Credit has been solid this year, But I’m sure Hale will still get his yards. He doesn’t really have the size and experience, but we will see..

Credit is going to be a good one. I played with his dad on the 04 team.  Good kid. Lufkin is taking lumps now but the future very bright.

That doesn't mean they're the better team. They have some really good athletes from what I can tell. Do they play with as much discipline or effort as Lindale though?

I'll be honest with you I don't know. I'm rooting for Lindale.  I just lived in that area for a 8 years when I was stationed at Ft Hood and have coached against some of those LBJ kids when they were 11 and 12. Some of those kids don't even live in the school district. The parents came together and made sure to funnel there kids to that school.
