6A DII Region II Bi-District: Temple at Longview
Gametyme replied to LoboFan07's topic in High School Sports
What they can do offensively is possible control the clock and tempo with their offensive line. Temple has 3 kids in their 3rd year starting up front. #1 WR Quienten Johnston is a 6'4-6'5 Texas commit that has to be accounted for.Temple may be able to force some other favorable match-ups if Longview doubles him. Both RB's are talented and the QB is extremely dangerous in open field running. Their only real weakness is the QB throwing it. He's had some bad throws and poor decisions mostly in the two looses. Temple biggest challenge is the Longview offense. The defense has really talented kids but they're really young. At the end of the day they're 14 and 15 and that can be problematic going against a defending state champs with a seasoned QB. It's going to take turnovers to pull off the upset at the end of the day because they won't stop Longview like that. Players to watch on defense #17 CB Roman Jackson has 7 interceptions and was the only returning starter. #21 Freshman LB Taurean York leads the team in tackles. Highly intelligent will be a huge recruit one day. #7 Freshman FS Mikal Harrison-Pilot is 4th in tackles and has 2 sacks 2 forced fumbles and 1 interception on the season. He's a thumper with good ball skills. Will be interesting to see how he does on the PA fake and deep shots down field. All in all Temple has a chance but they going to need a little help. -

He can go. My kid basket ball skills are still real raw because we just played baseball instead. Recently got into the AAU circuit playing with TJ Ford's Bulls. I never liked basketball because I felt if you're not 6'7 you didn't have a chance lol. This kid Hale looks really good on the court and he's 6'2 already. Good looking kid This must be the calm before the storm . It's quiet. -

I think Schertz Clemens has a real good shot to beat Westlake and get to state. They knocked off Judson end of year. They're extremely dangerous. -

But had they got to the 4th round and beat you guys on a neutral field he's a genius and same if WB can manage to get back. I agree I don't think they do and it definitely blew up in Temple face so you do end up being donkey of the day lol. I have a little inside knowledge on that whole situation being semi-close with the Temple program. It was more about getting a home playoff game and getting the Lobos on a neutral field to put yourself in a more advantageous position. Which I really can't blame them for that. I know if's were fiths we'd all be drunk lol. -

I don't blame Westbrook. Post season clinched. Rest your players. Give the kids a chance to win a title. They know they had nothing for Northshore. I say that because if they loose a kid in a meaningless game then everybody is like ###. -

I know this is a little off topic but we have pretty much covered everything for the game. Do you guys think Alabama is going to back into the post season or do you favor 1 loss Oregon or 1 loss Oklahoma ? Assuming LSU beats Georgia and Bama can beat Auburn. -

As soon as Kordell didn't come out in the 2nd half. I knew out fate was sealed. -

I'll pass out on signing day if he puts on the OU hat lol. Honestly I'll support him wherever he decides to go. He's also played a lot of high level select baseball. He missed all last baseball season recovering from a broken wrist. He's not sure if he wants to go all in on football or get back to playing baseball in the spring. I had a coach that's sent kids to A&M and Texas tell me he's a 5 tool kid with major college baseball talent. Temple doesn't have much of a baseball program though. I'm for whatever makes him happy. -

I was more along the lines of thinking they both go play for the Longhorns lol but maybe we can work out a neutral site location where they both go play for Lufkin ? Sounds fair. -

3 freshman will be playing Friday night in this game. That is absolutely nuts for this level. -

The kid has "IT". Unfortunately for Lufkin we going to have to deal with that for 3 more years. We don't have any freshman like that. Got some good ones but not like that. -

I think when you see freshman at this level producing it's more then middle school now. He doesn't have much on Hudl but he looks smooth and can high point the ball. Nothing wrong with projecting potential. They not saying he's going to have the pro career Taylor had but they obviously have seen enough Lobo football to assume the kid has potential to be all-time. -

I can remember him with the eagles vaguely. I think it was the eagles almost positive. I can't remember anything football pre 1994. After that I'm a steel trap for the most part. -

Which is crazy to think about because I've seen some pretty good ones. Talley,McGee, Armstrong, Byrdsong, Freaking Hasty who I think is still scoring TDs on us. Howard was a stud at LB. -

Btw I called Haynes being a FBS QB when I saw him at SFA his sophomore year by just watching him in warm-ups. Then confirmed it with his play that day. He had the measurable's and the arm talent. I didn't think he would reach #1 dual threat status but not surprised but certainly knew he would play power 5 somewhere. It's ashame Jordan Moore doesn't have any offers right now. I have an idea why but I'll keep it to myself. He's power 5 material. -

It's really hard competing against the big cities. Jordan Moore is a heck of a hooper. Lufkin should fare ok being in 5A. They had a really good season last year. -

I'm not sure if that's a shot at LSU or Lufkin lol. You know kids like to ride the wave these days. I think he's eyeing Alabama. He will definitely be good enough to play there if he wants one day but I'm hoping he has a change of heart for my Longhorns. Honestly I'll be ok as long as it's no Aggie or Sooner. Maybe we can get Hale on the 40 acres one day lol Hook Em -

They not nearly that bad. Cove hasn't been good in a while. They have a decent freshman class coming up with the 2nd best QB in the area in that 23 class. Wouldn't be surprised if the dad moves him out to Ellison because of the style of offense Cove is running. Man who in the heck voted Temple in a blowout -

Looks really good. Especially that last jump ball both feet down. Is he still 14 ? He just might be the best to come through Longview at that position. Dorian was good and Malcolm was too but he looks way a head of them at that point.
