West Mesquite and North Mesquite are done.

Longview has clinched a spot and can clinch the #1 seed with a win on Friday.

Forney and McKinney North will each have a chance to clinch a spot with a win on Friday against one another. Both just need one more win to get in.

Lancaster needs to win their final two to get in, as well as have Tyler lose one more. With their win over Tyler, they’re in the best position for the final spot facing off against North Mesq and Lufkin to end the year.

Tyler also needs to win out to get in. If they lose Friday, there’s a slight chance they can get in on points in a three way tiebreaker with Forney losing out and creating that 3 way with them, Tyler and Lancaster. If LT were to lose another, technically would get in with going 1-1 with a win vs Forney in final week and the Jackrabbits losing to McNorth.

Lufkin could get back in there if Tyler loses out, Lancaster wins this week vs North Mesq, Lufkin wins this week vs West Mesq and then the Panthers beat Lancaster by a certain amount. If Lancaster loses this week vs North Mesq, then that three way tiebreaker scenario is out the window and Tyler would have the tiebreaker.

It's going to be tough for Cujo to get in in all reality. Winning out clearly is the most wanted option. Getting in with Forney, Lancaster, themselves finishing 4-3 is really is the only true way I can see it actually happening.

North Mesquite no doubt could throw a lot of things off with facing Lancaster and McKinney North next week, but sorry, those are just for sure wins for those programs.

Tyler should of went for the TD at the end vs Lufkin. That would had put them in much better position because it's going to come down to the Lufkin and Lancaster game and in that 3 way scenario they're already eliminated. They will have to beat Forney or Longview now to get in unless we really think Lancaster will lose to North Mesquite.

  2. I'm surprised Tyler didn't go for a TD at the end to help them in a 3 way tie breaker just Incase Lufkin beats Lancaster. They essentially eliminated themselves unless they can beat Longview or Forney. In a hypothetical 3 way Tyler sits at -4 and Lancaster is at +7. That means they can't catch Lancaster regardless of the Lufkin outcome. If Lufkin were to beat Lancaster by 6 points that would put Lufkin in the playoffs. I did not understand the kneel down. That was a huge error by Woods. Maybe I'm wrong on the tie breaker situation but I believe it's a point differential between the 3 teams tied and then head to head if teams are tied after points. Maybe someone can help me out.

    Watched a bit of it.

The Lufkin radio guys are hilarious on the stream. But yeah, McNorth ran some good draw plays on 3rd and VERY long. Combine that with poor tackling (sorry...it was BAD) and that turned into a few big conversions and points of McNorth.

The tackling was the worst I've seen in some time. Probably since some of those Stafford defenses.

Yeah I love the way Big Nasty calls the game. He is a treasure.

    I do what I can 🤣

Man your boy looks the part. Can't believe Lufkin doesn't at least try to create packages to get more '25s like him on the field.

He can play too. He outplayed every OLB in the spring besides Menefee but the other kids have varsity experience was the excuse his position coach gave him. Not surprised his position coach played at John Tyler. The DC does have plans for him next season. I took him to the U of H mega camp and a Colorado St coach showed interest in him and started following him on Twitter. Coach Meekins at Houston also showed interest but wants the tape. Meekins is the one that recruited his brother. He is probably going to skip basketball this year and just grind straight off season. Just going to trust the process.

Yes. Our corners are not really good and do not play well by themselves. I do not understand why our defensive coordinator will not put two safeties deep. Ever since McKinney north every team now knows just throw it deep and lets your receiver get it. If lufkin is smart they will pass the ball because our secondary is our weak point on defense. They can’t cover!

Luckily for you the Lufkin OC isn't smart. He will run inside zone and more inside zone and then more inside zone. We have some really good WRs I mean some legit play makers but they're misused for the most part. Green is an idiot simple as that.

Didn't know Lufkin had anything besides Young 👀 Could make it a little more interesting 💭

Yeah we have some really good WRs particularly #18 Krisean Preston. Big kid that can move and make high light catches. Only problem is we have a OC that doesn't know how to feed him the ball. He did catch 3 TDs last week so maybe Green with use his brain this week. He's a P5 talent without a doubt.

Lobo defense may give up some plays just cause, but McNorth defense won't have an answer at all.

    52-21, Lobos.

I agree you saw first hand they won't have anything for you guys. I appreciate you consoling me after the loss 😂. I won't tell any of your fellow Lobos you had on a purple Lufkin shirt

    They struggled with Lufkin too.

But all bets are off come game time. Who beat who by how much doesn't really apply. Lobos have to come to play. If they do, McNorth has no chance. If they don't come to play, it could be bad.

We even led at some point in the 3rd. We gave up 3 or 4 3rd and 20+ conversions and they converted 2 or 3 4th downs. You guys shouldn't have any problems with them. They probably have the worst defense Lufkin has played all year.

The outcome of this game is not in doubt. However, NM has always come out swinging on the Lobos. I hope we put this one away early.

They held Kedren under a 100. I wonder if they're capable of loading up and making Tatum earn it. We couldn't get them out the box because we struggled throwing the ball and our offensive line is not nearly as good as yours.

Never easy at someone else's house...

I'm interested to see how you guys defend that sophomore RB they got. He is as good as any I've seen at that age. If he can't get going they don't have a chance. The Riggins kid at LB is a stud #2. He's going to talk the entire game. I bet him and Tatum will do a lot of chirping in between plays. Longview should win by a few scores imo.

He needs more touches as the single back out of the back field as that appears to mesh really well with dibolls blocking scheme. The 3 back set they tried I don’t like much

He is a talented kid. Was underused at Lufkin.

That was one of the weirdest games I have ever seen. I’d really love to see them get Scott more active in the back field. He’s way too good of an athlete to get so little touches. #12 is a great RB.

Scott is the Lufkin transfer. He is a really good football player. He would had been the starting FS for Lufkin had he stayed.
