One last thing in my departure. You really need to chill. Be proud of your kids by all means but do not make them your gods.

You are beginning to sound like you are bragging instead of being proud of you children!

Just defending them. Everyone seems to be taking shots. I should care less coming from people on smoaky.

  2. My kids won't play flag either. We'll stick to basketball and baseball till 7th grade since those take the most practice and can't be picked up as easily as football. Also, since I get paid to review game film I'll happily review your sons for a fee

Please do not need you to look at my son film. How old are your kids ? My kids also play baseball and basketball. 9 year old averaged 16.5 ppg in 10 game last season playing in Harker Heights scored a game high 34 one game. In baseball he can run down fly balls hit in the gap or do the splits at 1B to pick a ball out the dirt. I am not even going to mention he can nearly hit one over a 200ft fence. Na I already know my kid is blessed.

  3. Yes I do have kids and I am far from jealous. Comparing kids in little league is ridiculous because kids have not developed yet. My kids will not play football until the 7th grade because I would prefer them to not have permanent damage when older.

    Nothing wrong with flag dad.

Btw did you check my you tube linked my son rocked him didn't he ;)

  4. Well I hate to be the one to tell you that you are in for a rude awakening if you doubt Oak Ridge will become top notch! They won 7 games this year and made the playoffs. Coach45 is part of the process not the head of the process. As soon as they get a QB to implement the nascar offense there, watch the trend change! They will get into the 10 win arena year after year. The problem will come with the D.

Oak Ridgless will not get into that arena they stack their schedule with cupcakes and got hammered by the only good teams they faced this year and they tried running the no huddle nascar against Lufkin and it did not work. They do not have close the athletes he had at John Tyler now even close.

  5. As as outsider looking in I'd have to say the current staff at Oak Ridge has done pretty good considering how the Ridge was before they got there.

All they did was pile wins against cup cake teams.Big game Bob got them to the playoffs before and actually had a team that gave Lufkin a semi decent game one year. Coach Rush was 1-9 year one so yeah I guess they are winning the games against the weaker teams now.

  6. In your great little league Lombardi opinion, what is wrong the coaching softball?

All I ever said was I worked with children in little league and had very talented kids. That are a head of the curve vs their peers. Do you have any kids ? Sorry but I was too busy doing Army type stuff instead of getting smoked coaching at Oak Ridgless.

It is common for parents to be jealous because their kids are not as talented as others.

  7. In your great little league Lombardi opinion, what is wrong the coaching softball?

Leave softball for a woman to coach just seems odd for a grown man to coach softball. If I had daughters I would support them in softball but I would much rather a woman coach them. To teach his own. I am more embarrassed for the guy coaching at Oak Ridgless. Those guys like to run their mouth as good as Coach45 and just like coach they can't really back it up. Oak Ridge fan base is a joke a bunch of spoiled kids that try to be like The Woodlands but are nothing like The Woodlands. Only bad thing with Lufkin moving down is I can't watch my boys smash poor Oak Ridgless down again. So I can enjoy The Woodlands doing it and then Westfield sending them home early again.

  8. WOW.... and to think this dude can coach circles around me. Sorry I wasted my time and got this started. LOL

continue to take you beating at Oak Ridgless and have fun with softball lol

I am pretty positive I could coach circles around you.Your just some fat hick that thinks he knows what he is talking about.

  9. I use to be a big fan of going OOS (except Louisiana), and still am if its the right matchup. But I'm definitely a firm believer in playing Texas powerhouses now. Lufkin is the only school in ET that would be guaranteed a spot yearly. My list would be realistic and consist of both teams we've talked to for non district games the past 4 years and teams that would challenge us in the long run. So my wish list would look something like:

    Week 0: The Woodlands

    Week 1: LT

    Week 2: Allen

    Week 3: Lufkin

If we were in a 6 team district then I'd like the 5th opponent to be from Houston or Centex/Austin. We've been exposed to DFW since forever and San Antonio/Valley schools not named Cibolo Steele...eh. I'd tolerate it though...Longview almost set up a two year matchup with Harlingen for 2012-2013..deal fell through.

70% chance that Longview won't have the juggernaut non-district schedule they usually do the next two seasons because of the drop in classifications. Won't be near as weak as the 2008-2009 seasons..but not as strong as the other seasons. All of the big named programs we've been in contact with are filling up their schedules quickly.

Harlingen should be thankful it fell through. Would have been lopsided Lobo wins.

  10. I have prepared some stats for those of you that like to look at those kind of things. Although I am an Argyle homer, I want to be educated for this game as a fan so that I can try to look at the game objectively prior to the game. All DOD friends welcome in the Argyle section to shake those "shakers" with us!

    Fairfield

    Opponent W/L 84-91

    Opponent Average State Rank 426.6

    Average Points Scored 57.3

    Average Points Given Up 9.2

    State Rank 19

    National Rank 141

    Argyle

    Opponent W/L 106-73

    Opponent Average State Rank 321.9

    Average Points Scored 51.7

    Average Points Given Up 12.7

    State Rank 11

    National Rank 84

By the looks of the above numbers, both teams have dynamic scoring offenses and shutdown defenses. Upon further analysis, Fairfield has not played nearly the teams that Argyle has, on the whole. Fairfield's best 4 wins came against Navasota (ranked 68 in TX), Rockdale (ranked 134 in TX), Connally (ranked 141 in TX), and Sinton (ranked 174 in TX). Argyle's best 4 wins came against Graham (ranked 30 in TX), Gilmer (ranked 37 in TX), Nolan Catholic (ranked 96 in TX), and Celina (ranked 111 in TX). Argyle has more quality wins than Fairfield. Now, this may not mean that Argyle will win, obviously, but it does mean that Argyle has been tested by teams closer to their talent level more often.

Going to keep digging into the numbers... Go Eagles! ... Argyle that is. smile.gif

Max preps is usually a terrible way to justify ranked teams.

I do not know a whole lot about 3A football outside the normal powerhouses. I will be rooting for fairfield because of the East Texas ties but I am kinda expecting Argyle to win this one with Ian Sadler in the end. This kid could play at any school in Texas including 5A powerhouses like SLC and DeSoto.
