From what a buddy of mine told me, Troy is definitely NO Hardin. Our Boys better not overlook the Trojans... They have a RB that can play. He is averaging close to 200 yards per game and 3 TD’s per game.. So Franklin needs to focus and take care of business cause when we play like we are capable??? Then IMO we won’t be beat. But if your not focused and looking ahead then u can and will be beat....

1972- Franklin- 14 Schulenburg- 14 lost on penetrations 5-2 State Semi-Finals... 1978- Franklin- 21 Lexington- 22 State Semi-Finals... 2015- Franklin- 21 Waskom- 33 State Finals... All 3 of these teams were extremely talented and I was at all 3 of these games. But the 2015 class is the winningest class in Franklin Football History... and they played for a State Championship.. So IMO they set the benchmark and will be considered the best team until someone gets to the State Championship and wins it.. I will say this our 2018 team has a lot of talent and have all the pieces in place to make a State run for sure.. They have really good overall speed, these seniors are battle tested (was freshman when we went to State Finals in 2015), Fundamentally sound in there technique, have depth, and will lay the wood to you... No quit in these kids!! and Are very well coached.. So yes there is lots of expectations on these young men this year and our community believe they can get to the big dance but we all know its takes a lot of things to go your way throughout the season. Most importantly is we will need to stay healthy... If that happens and we win the State Championship then we will be talking about the class of 2018 as being the best football team to come through Franklin.. Will be an exciting year for sure.. Ready to get it started...

There is a lot of very talented teams in these two districts.. I feel like Coach0001 says you just never know what 15-18 yr olds will do on any given Friday night so no predictions here... What I will say is it is a shame that these two districts have to face off first round. There are a lot of teams in these two districts that could easily beat a lot of teams in Region III...... and 4 of them will be out of playoffs after first round... Just sayin....

3A Div 1 District 10 Championship on the line. Rockdale 6-2 (4-0 district) Franklin 6-2 (4-0 district).. Who is gonna win District 10 ???????? Should be a great game and atmosphere... GO LIONS !!!!

Not sure we had 340 kids enrolled in high school first of sept 2017.. The cut-off for Div 1 last enrollment was 319.. So unless UIL moves the cut-off number this enrollment. I will think we will be a small school in Div 1 again...

Would love for Coach Johnston and Coach Hedrick get together and renew the Franklin/Newton rivalry.. Would love to see that happen.. Franklin always had the upmost respect for Newton's players, coaches and fans.. Classy program.. We could meet a neutral site maybe cause of the distance between the two towns.. Just a suggestion....

One thing that is a fact in the Rockdale/Franklin game coming up in a few weeks.. It will be very unlikely that the Tigers get the opportunity to score 3 TDs off of kick-off returns ( we won't kick it deep) or Pick sixes cause we don't throw the ball much... But in saying that Rockdale has one of the fastest teams I have seen in a long time... We will have to sustain long drives to chew up the clock and score to keep that athletic offense the Tigers have off the field to limit their opportunities.. Will be a fun game...
