Sam Houston ranked #1 in the coaches poll but #5 seed? SHSU QB throws 7 TD's against a 9-1 team with one of the better secondaries in FCS. Gotta win 2 of the next 3 on the road just to get to the finals. But records don't mean anything in the playoffs, you win you play next week, you lose you go home. If you are good then you can win on the road. ...or you could be SFA sitting at home with a 5-6 record......

Did that include any basketball related facilities since SFA has become a basketball school?? They gave up on football after getting beat by Sam Houston for 6 years in a row. When they hired a new football coach they hired one from another school in the same conference, a lateral move. When they hired a basketball coach they got one that had been an SEC assistant. So where are their priorities???

Charlie takes over the defense and OU almost sets a record against it. The defense is so bad that Charlie can't even fix it. Who is he going to blame the defense on this time?????

Surratt and his staff are really good coaches, combine that with talent and you see the results. But I've known coaches who have coached in the State Finals only to go 2-8 later on down the road. What happened? Did they suddenly forget how to coach?

I know a guy that works with Sam Houston football, was on the sideline, didn't actually watch the coin toss but if it happened nobody noticed. He said nobody on SH team ever said anything then or since. So if it happened nobody noticed.

Ain't gonna be Miles, that's for sure. Can't see him mixing with the OrangeBloods. Can you imagine some of the weird stuff he would say on LHN??? I'd watch just to see what stupid comment he would make.

Being demoted from DC is just like being fired. Like Charlie is going to turn around and give it back to him. Look at the OC from last year that got "demoted" after one game...ain't there anymore....look at the WR coach that took over calling plays.....he ain't there anymore....only one coach from Strong's first season that still has his original title and that's the LB coach.....all other position coaches from his first season are GONE.....Charlie got his assistants on a short leash....I guess its better to fire them than to get fired yourself

I guess you gotta pick something you are good at and go with it. For SFA that's basketball, for Sam Houston that's football, just like you said. Look at the football hires at each school the past few yrs. SFA hires a football coach from another school in the conference. Sam Houston hires a coach that has won a National Championship. Like you said, priorities.....

Charlie's vote of confidence the other day for the DC was a little premature, Charlie's gonna have egg on his face when he fires him tomorrow. "I thought you said the other day that I was doing fine?" A little disappointed in Traylor's special teams play....

yep, 15 yards short of a school record for total offense in a game for Sam Houston. The 7 TD passes might be one though. SFA didn't show much. 6 years in a row for a Sam Houston win...not much of a "rivalry" now.... Last yr and this yr combined records SHSU- 15-4 SFA- 7-9 I think the score pretty much sums up the disparity in the 2 programs now. Look at the score, how many times Sam has won, records the past few yrs, etc. Why is Sam Houston so much further ahead of SFA??????

SFA has 20 yards rushing...for the game I guess SHSU is going for 70 points and 700 yds total offense.

If Keeler wanted to score 70 and set a school record for total offense he could...but he won't risk injury to starters in the second half. Although the back up QB is a true freshman, he ain't bad

Better make it ALOT of whiskey!!!!!! 5 TD passes in a quarter and a half....... What was I just saying about the SFA secondary????????? SHSU school record for total offense in a game is like 660 yards, they are halfway there already.

WOW.........that's why SHSU has the #1 offense in the country in FCS QB has almost 300 yards passing and not even midway through the 2nd qtr. SFA O-Line and DB's aren't very good.... it may get better the second half but only when SHSU puts in their 2's and 3's
