Rankings mean nothing. Teague must take it one game at a time. Nothing is a given and it must be earned. I'm going with the Lions.... the Teague Lions.

We can look ahead and discuss the "what if's". It's fun to predict future games. Elkhart will come to Teague looking for an upset. Osborn has maintained the "one game at a time" mentality all season. This week is no different. Lion fans will watch these seniors for their final home game. They are an amazing group. It should be a fun game with a mix of these seniors and some very talented under class men. They can make history on Friday. Go Lions.

Dowell was fun to watch. A very punishing runner. The Teague fans did appreciate his effort in the game. He will do well at the next level.

We do have some great seniors and we will miss them after this year. We also have some great underclassmen that will step up in coming years. We'll be ok. We'd rather you be a Tiger too rubber.

It was a great game between two very good teams. Malakoff's #8 is a beast. Both teams played a heck of a game while being officiated by some very bad referees. I read in a previous post that the clock operator was hired and was not a school representative. Whoever he was, he doesn't need to be running a clock. Fortunately we overcame those hurdles and put them away in the second half. Teague's defense is much improved from previous years. Coach Osborn and his staff have done a great job with this team.

The only prediction I feel safe in making is that Teague's defense will be improved.

It's not like Teague had a stellar defense in place. Let's just give Osborn a chance, he may fool you. As far as the hiring process went, many here were not pleased as to how it unfolded. Some have thrown their hands up, others vow to run for school board, and many are still in shock. Osborn is the new AD... like it or lump it. He will bring a more old school, tough, hit you in the mouth attitude to the program. That's how he taught back in the day and I'm sure he will again. Teague needs that. I think he will do a good job. Hopefully we'll get off of the "drama radar" for awhile. We need that more than anything.

If the first hire after Hayes left had been done correctly #t.allison, we would have probably flown under the "drama radar" all of this time. That's just my opinion, but here we are.

Good question... to which I have no answer.

Here's my opinion, like it or not. This hiring process was messed up. The end result is that we have a new AD/HC that is familiar with Teague and the kids. Is he perfect? Does he have a past? Maybe... maybe not. We all are not perfect and have done things we aren't proud of. We can't do anything about the past except learn from it and not repeat mistakes. With that said, it's a good hire for us. He will do a great job if given the chance... without interference from the Supt or school board. Let him pick his staff and coach the kids. As far as predictions go.... we are in no place to make any. Malakoff is the district favorite. Teague has a lot of talent. Sure we hope for championships, but we shouldn't even be discussing that. 99 and homegrown love their Lions. They both are passionate fans. They like to talk on here, but they also back those kids too. Like them or not, they are devoted to their school. Look we aren't proud of the past 6 years or so. We would have loved to have had the same AD in place. We don't enjoy being the talk of Smoaky. Do we agree with how this whole mess has gone down? H@#$ no we don't. Will there be changes made to the school board? Rumor has it there will be. Just give Osborn a chance. His rusty coaching ability might just fool you. He is excited for the opportunity and will do his best. He's a good coach. He's our AD and we need to support him, mainly for these kiddos. They have been put through the ringer, but are still working hard. Their heads are up. They have had every reason to quit or fail, but they are hanging in there. Pick my post apart if you wish, I could care less.

A good move for Teague. The kids will benefit having someone they already know and like. He has been in Teague many years and we don't have to worry about him leaving. Many have wanted him as the AD/HC since Hayes left. The hire is a good one. The defense just improved dramatically there's no doubt. Best of luck to Coach Osborn.
