  1. Whomever loses this game will probably see Gilmer in the first round, so that should be motivation to win right there. I say Gladewater wins, but gonna be close!
  2. Gilmer has lost only 4 home games in the last 15 + years. That streak won't end at the hands of BULLARD. Gilmer wins 25th consecutive game big.
  3. Gilmer 9th A 40 Melissa 0 Gilmer JV 51 Melissa JV 15
  4. Gilmer 9th A beat Gladewater 47-14 Gilmer JV beat Gladewater 38-12 Gilmer 9th B beat Sulphur Springs
  5. Gladewater can cry all you want about a spot, fact is, if the great Gladewater defense stops Gilmer on that last drive, ya'll win. They did'nt, Gilmer wins. If you are gonna blame the refs, fine, but also blame your defense for not making the stop needed to win. Move on.
  6. I agree Gilmer will have no trouble, but I dont think they will score that much. I say 45-12Buckeyes.
  7. Throw records out the window. I still think its going to be:1. Atlanta 1. Gladewater 1. Tatum 4. Center 5. Pleasant Grove 6. Spring Hill Center is the darkhorse. They are capable of upsetting any of those top 3 IMO.
  8. Yes. IMO the problem has been the lines. The OL can't block,so the QB doesn't have time. The RB's can't get to the outside, so lately the offense has been non existant. Simply don't have the personel to run that scheme. The defense is a whole other issue. No blocking, no speed and no intensity. I honestly think Friday will be the last chance for a win this season.
  9. Going to take the Panthers in a shootout. Hopefully the defense can make a couple of stops and the OL can give some protection for once.
  10. But yet they keep winning, imagine that.
  11. This is one of the three games on the schedule that I could go either way on. Tatum is still Tatum. Big, athletic, and fast. I agree if you can stack the box, and force the pass, you stand a really good chance. Gilmer will also have to cut way down on penalties. I liken this game to the L/E game. Think it will be a barn burner. Tatum has the horses to win, but since it IS in Gilmer, gotta go with the Buckeyes by 8. Does Tatum have a decent or better kicker?
  12. I disagree. Winnsboro had about the same number of kids as we did. They rotated some kids, but mainly starters played the entire game. I saw a coach that got fired up, got the kids fored up and got the crowd fired up! The offense will be fine, they looked good up tempo, Winnsboro was on their heels. It did'nt help the refs were taking forever to set the ball. Defensively we work. Winnsboro (no offense) was one of our weaker opponets. This weeks game will probably get out of hand quick, but SH is pointing in the right direction. It may not be this year, or even the next, but the kids are buying into the new system and are excited. Don't feel sorry for us, we may not win, but like Fridays game, this team will fight to the end! With that said, Van 45 SH 21
  13. Van by a lot. The SH offense is heads up by far better than it has been in years. I can't remember last time they scored over 40 pts. With that being said, our defense is attrocious. No speed to the outside, and db's not good. Coach Mercer has them pointed in the right direction, but will be tough against a hard running Van team.
  14. No doubt. SH WILL be better this year, I know that, however our district is tough. I still see 6th, but they may pull off an upset. All they have do is win two district games, right? We will see as the season goes along. I'm ready!!
  15. Agree. Don't forget about Nick Smith and Chase Tate. That kind of speed comes around everyone so often, and there is nobody on the current roster that can match it. I think Gilmer will have to tweek some things offensively to counter losing those guys, which a couple were 4 year starters. It's crazy to think they will be putting up 60+ a game. Alot closer games putting more pressure on the defense. This team will only go as far as the defense carries them this year. They should win that weak district again, no problem, but there will be some really good battles this year, especially in preseason. L/E, Tatum and Carthage are the three that come to mind. Time will tell.
