How will you guys look next year? Serious question.

Good question. I’m not real sure tbh. Optimism says we’ll be fine, but realistically I think we’re going to be a couple of years away from another string of solid seasons. I know i know, I’ll take some heat for saying that but I’m just being honest. I guess for the next 2 seasons we can just keep saying “we’re young” lol, like another program continues to say over the past few years lol. I do think we’ll be fine. These seniors will definitely be missed and will never be duplicated. It’s hard to replace that caliber of talent.

    Rough outting for D7.

I did expect this game to be close, but not a shootout. I elected to not go at the last minute, and made a mistake. Great season Jeffy. Good luck Koff!

Razor you missed a hell of a game! This is what high school football is all about. 2 really good teams battling to the end, but 1 had to go home with the L unfortunately. My Dawgs may have lost the game but they came away with something more important and that was character! The fight, heart, and teamwork can’t be taken away. Very proud of this group of young men! Also to Malakoff, y’all have a very special team with the same characteristics I listed above. If you’re gonna lose a game then losing to a team like y’all and in that fashion....then that’s the way to go out! Good luck to y’all all the way through.

What a game! No complaints here. Mally got 2 stops for the whole game and our punter didn't see any action. We got 1 stop and that's basically the difference.  Funny how none of the Gladewater and some of you others didn't have much to say. Just cause Jefferson didn't dominate West Rusk, we didn't have a chance. Our 3 losses we had the ball and a chance to take the lead at the end Our defenses.....I'm lost for words!

Other than that, the 2nd round curse continues.......

I’m with ya 96, a lot of crickets lol. Of course they’ll start up now since this is over, but sure was quiet during the game.

And yes....the curse continues....just can’t get over the hump

There been a hand full but not this many in one game. #5 is the difference in this years Jeffy's team. Can't stop the run at all

He should’ve been the QB last season when we played y’all. Even though we only had the ball for 6 plays the whole game he definitely would’ve made a difference

G-Water beats H S.  and that makes our whole district weak. Why we all got to be weak? Glad we didn't have this #### on the Jefferson/West Rusk thread.  Nothing but respect on both sides.

Good job GW! I honestly didn’t see this happening. Man was I wrong.

The panic is what has me worried...lol. we didnt last night thank the lort!!

I’m not gonna lie, when I saw y’all were up by 2 scores and then all of the sudden it was tied up, that was my 1st thought lol.

We lost one game in district. How did 2 games expose us? We did beat ATL..lol. that being said Jeffy had their way with us though. If they have that gameplan watch out...but I dont think Winny has Dee black...

You’re right I don’t think anyone has a Dee Black and I’m not trashing y’all by no means. My point is simple, whether a loss or near loss in the last 2 games of the season raises eyebrows. Yes, y’all did only lose 1 game but everyone and anyone can be exposed especially when giving up the amount of points y’all did against Jefferson and Atlanta. With that said...I think y’all will handle business as long as y’all don’t panic and definitely tighten up on D. Hooks has the playmakers, but Winny has a very good coach.

  8. I’m gonna go with Hooks, but very hesitantly. These last 2 games have really exposed them. I know the level of competition had something to do with it, but I’m also wondering if they’ve peaked too soon. Gotta go with our district foe, but I know Finney will definitely be going over the past 2 weeks of film on Hooks and will be looking for weaknesses. Hooks is big up front and contrary to popular beliefs...they do have speed. Very interesting matchup to say the least.

I know you guys will be a force, never said you wouldn't, that's not Jeffy. Even last year when we played you guys, y'all played till the end of game, reguardless that you knew you were getting beat. I liked that. You guys played a good game last week. I joke around with you guys or at least with you about it. Some of the Jeffy fan base are kinda touchy though. Lol  We'll be ready to play whomever, we are not scared. Just seems that district 7 #1 seed has an easier road until the 3rd round, imo. That's why I said that.

#1 or #2 don’t make us no nevermind, just glad we’re in. This is going to be a great game I wanna believe. I want to say Atlanta bc of tradition, but my gut says Hooks. I just think Hooks got away from their game way too soon.

That's surprising. I figured you guys would want to be the #1 seed. Unless you want some revenge from last year if hooks wins. 😉

Tiger, we’re just happy to be in the playoffs. Seeding don’t matter, revenge would be great, but I’m just happy to be where we’re at! I will tell you this though, you are outside of your mind if you think Jefferson will ever back down! Y’all can beat us 5 years in a row and we’ll still show up. We don’t backdown, we may struggle in round 2 lol, but it’s not in our blood to just rollover and play dead. If you think so then you don’t know us! I read a comment you made a couple of weeks back about Jefferson not wanting a 2 seed because we’ll have to play Malakoff again...but I’m here to tell you better be careful what ya ask for😉

I think Hooks caught Jefferson at the wrong place and wrong time. Every home game has been a blowout for Jefferson.  If Hooks gets back to form, I think they pull this one off at home. I'll take Hooks in a close one 28-27. Just think, a good Atlanta team or a good Hughes Springs team has to stay home

I with ya 96, I think Hooks had a good 1st drive and then it just unraveled after that and the Dawgs took advantage in a big way! Hooks panicked and got away from what has got them here. I think that game woke Hooks up and I see them getting it together at home on Senior night. Sorry Atlanta, but I’m going with Hooks in this one. 34-21.
