I do not have a dog in the hunt Franklins is a very good team but I think they will have to bring it for 4 full quarters and have minimal mistakes to pull it off. Edna has a huge O line and can move people off the ball. I don't have a winner in this one but I think the whoever makes the fewest mistakes wins it.

Last meeting between these 2 teams was 2018 Brock may have had the most physical team in 3A at the time and was a hell of a game. This brock team is not as physical IMO. The QB is pretty good and has multiple targets to go to and the running back is elusive. however I do not think they have the speed on defense to match up with our offense. Im going with my Tigers 35-17.

GV defense has vastly improved since the West game, and weāve had a couple of players take it up a notch on offense. As far as English at QB, I like it. When teams do what Potts did and rush 5 and spy 2 itās a little less effective of course, but he still got his yards for the most part. Iām glad weāre implementing him more and heās touching the ball every play. It opened up the run game a lot when we moved him back out and I donāt think Potts played him properly out there so it helped. All about adjustments and figuring out the best way to get him the ball imo.Ā
English will by far be the best athlete on the field come Frisay night. It will all boil down to keeping him contained when he is at QB and having help over the top whenĀ he is a wide out. Not that he is the only weapon yall have but he is the engine that pulls the train. I am sure we will have something in place. If our line continues to play the way they have I like our chances on moving the ball and controlling the clock.Ā I predictĀ a 27-21 Tiger victory.

There are probably not any 2 teams that know each other as well as the Tigers and the Zebras. The coaches probably know what each kid on the opposing team eats for breakfast. Both teams have explosive offenses and have have the ability to score quick but I see this as a low scoring gameĀ compared to the previous games they have played. Give me the Tigers 27-21. Malakoff's kicking game gives them the edge in this one.

I will take my Tigers but will hold off on my prediction until later in the week

Confirm this if true from Cleburne paperā¦
GV and Malakoff have met seven times since 2018 and GV is 7-1. Doesnāt sound right.Ā
I believe that is correct.

For two such good teams this thread has died.

Not saying it won't happen but....no one has put up that many points on us all year. I look for this to be a low scoring game 28-21 Mally.
I guess we were both wrong.

We need to stay humble there is a lot football yet to be played. One Game at a time. Enjoy this win and back to work Monday.Ā
This is a special group of young men it may be the most complete team we have ever seen.

Let's face it .....both teams are pretty good or they wouldn't be here. The team that wants it the most and plays a clean game will probably be the one moving on. I'm sure both staffs have a few wrinkles added and have schemes on both sides of the ball just for this game. We will just have to wait and see who that is. Good luck to both teams.

Dave Campbellās has Malakoff as a 16 point favorite.
I pay ZERO attention to any predictions that is only an opinion and we all have one. It will all be settled Friday night on the field. I just hope both teams bring it and come out healthy no matter the outcome. May the best team win.

Back in the day Marcus was a beat of a RB. He keeps us all in stitches.

Agree. Ā And Winnsboro has a more mobile QB with a better group of WRās than Salado. Ā I really see the Raider uptempo offense being a thorn in the side for Malakoff as the game progresses IF Winnsboro can consistently move the chains and stay away from 3rd & forever situations.
I will agree up tempo has given us a few problems. Hopefully we gave ironed things out. This should be a really good game. Could come down to turnovers.Ā

Malakoff hasnāt played anyone with a pulse since Sept. Ā
Like I said. I could be proven wrong. Time will tell though.

Would you say Grandview had trouble throwing the ball against Malakoff back in Sept?
That was Sept and we shut it down after halftime adjustments.Ā

I expect this to be a story line Fri night in some way. Ā In watching the last two competitive games Malakoff played in September, their D was sucking wind in Q4. Ā I doubt the Malakoff starters have played in Q4 since. Ā
ĀIf Winnsboro can have some early success throwing the ball and moving the chains with their āOregon Duckā offense, things could get interesting the second half from a conditioning standpoint. Ā But the Raiders must play mistake free and find a way to get some key stops on D.
I could be proved wrong but, this is the best core of DB's and coverage LB's we have seen in the last 10-12 years. Passing may be tough unless the running game can get going.
