  4. Shelbyville, West Sabine and Cushing are my picks for tonight; Beckville will be tough to beat but Cushing will put up a fight. The other two games will be close; would like to see any of the three games but stuck out on an ROV boat near Trinidad. Safe travels God all the teams and fans tonight and pray for all the young men's safety and health tonight.... Don't want hear about life flights anymore in the future.
  5. Nac by 21 if the QB can execute; he should know how to run the option when needed to.
  6. Happy to hear it was not as bad as first thought for both young men. Safe travels for fans and team from Beckville on the way to Cushing.
  7. Anyone from Beckville or Cushing have the final score of the JV game last night. I heard JR high Beckville won it but I do not know the score; heard JV game was tied at the half. Also, it is good to hear that the two young men injured last night was not as bad as we first thought. Prayers for their full recovery and for safe travels tonight for Beckville fans and team traveling to Cushing tonight. JV score?
  8. Well....this answers some questions and puts things in perspective....I was not at the game...I know Cushing was down 20 - 8 at one point....turnovers early....someone at the game told me it was 27 - 21 at the beginning of 2nd half. Anyway I hope all the players got out without injury and the Bearkats have a safe trip home.
  9. Where can we watch this game online? This is the first I heard of this but say its about time.
  10. Ready to see how this one turns out...I am taking Beckville by 7. Will be a good thing for all of us in the district to get a win before preparing for district in two weeks.
  11. Does anyone know if Evadale or anyone close to them ever broadcast their games on the radio? It seems with the technology today every game should at least be able to have a video feed available on the internet with a little help from the schools or a network of rabid football fans with an internet cam. I am sure this is going on in many places...I just have not found it yet.... Well, prolly not for the games deep in the middle of East Texas like this one....we are probably lucky to get cell signals out there....lol It #### being stuck on a rig with not even a radio broadcast on the internet. Where I am we got the internet and bandwidth all day.
  12. Lol...it does have that weird ring to it. I hope it rings true after the next few weeks...starting Oct. 10.
  13. Wish I had the total defensive stats for Cushing's games...Being the first two only amounted to five played quarters and -29 yards to Sabine Pass and 29 total yards to Wortham, I would say they have given up a total of 400 over the last two games if that much...Now, the real stats start in two weeks when district play starts....albeit Evadale will most likely be tougher than all the last four teams combined. So, the Bearkats have one more tune up before meeting Beckville at their place October 10th.
  14. Very good analysis above. The order in which it may come down to is in the right order for now being the SoS. Like I said in an earlier post things will get exponentially more difficult from here on out after week five. Evadale is two time better most likely than any team Cushing has faced thus far just from a little tradition on their side. Beckville as of late has handled Cushing with ease along with everyone Else in the District. I believe Beckville is being coached by Lucky Gamble now if I am not mistaken....he wins wherevever he goes...I thought he had retired. Anyway, it will be fun watching the District play out...just hope everyone has all their players healthy after the bye to get this thing started.
  15. 5-5 is hardly the best record they have had in the last 30 years. Louie Johnson, Ronnie Pat Durham and Ed Smith have all had winning programs during this time....Juaquin, Beckville and Shelbyville have all been beaten by Cushing during this time, too. And if you think Cushing will go winnless in this district this year you are mistaken, also. We will wait til the games are played but evry team in this district better have the right attitude come time to play this team cause it will not be a cakewalk like the last few years. Cushing will not just barely win Friday night but win convincingly....Evadale does not have the depth or the size Cushing has and will get run on all night.
  16. Alto - I have played at "The Pit" back in my day in a rainstorm....somethin' about that field that just gets to you. I have not been there in several years...do they still have the concrete Home stands or have they been replaced? When you roll upon that field at night and see the fog or the glare of the lights coming from lower than you are used to you know it's gonna be a "one of a kind" night and game.
