Just befuddled by this entire situation

The parents on the school board and their friends must have saw at the school he came from let the kids act however they want and get away with whatever they want and thought, “I too would like my kid to not be held accountable.”

Is it legal for us to bet on how long it will take them to get back on UIL probation? Or how long the next losing streak will be?

The last guy literally got forced out lol. Just because you and your buddies coach the Harmony team in the Gilmer Little League doesn’t mean you know what it’s like to be a coach in real life buddy.

Regardless of what you think of coach prime he hit the mail on the head when he said in this profession you either move on while you can or stay long enough to get replaced. Something like that….. can’t fault the guy for reading the handwriting on the wall and getting out of a situation on his own terms.

Yeah….. and he should be absolutely ashamed of himself. Coaches that back door each other should be afraid to show their faces in public…. Just absolutely shunned. We all have families! I promise that job ain’t worth that much!

I think they have some potential talent. Other than it being an 8 team District they got a pretty decent draw. Played granger really close last year and got away from Chilton Bremond etc

I think you’re misunderstanding what I am saying. A butt kicker if a coach is just a good coach. I’m talking about someone willing to go out in the community, maybe do some stuff with that county sheriff that’s always on Facebook live, open car doors at the elementary school, things like that, fun things that make elementary school kids excited about being a Groveton Indian again. It just seems like they haven’t had that in a while. I don’t mean a soft coach…. Nobody needs that.

Super old school* my fault. but to your question I think there’s an interesting dichotomy in coaching ball these days. you can’t be too much of one or the other. Takes time. Groveton needs someone to spark the community, used to be a great place.

As someone that is very familiar with the program in the past and the community, they really need someone to come in and revive the culture as a whole. a super super fun ls school guy isn’t going to work here. Gonna need someone who isn’t afraid to oust the envelope.

The only “East Texas” schools I can think of off the top of my head if you could even consider them ETX anymore are Huntsville and New Waverly….. but their AD/HFC is big into the wrestling world and I think he started the program at both.

I actually hate it because I feel like I put a lot of work into it. (We throw the ball some) and I don’t actually get to coach my kids.
