Neither team has beaten a good team. New Waverly is the closest thing to a good win on either schedule. Truly a toss up that could go either way.

I didn’t say it was going to be. I simply said if they both play their A game. Both have shown that they tend to not play clean, solid, 3 phase football.
My personal opinion is West Rusk is quite a bit more talented, but are very beatable if they don’t bring their best effort.

Really good 1st round game here. Hooks is playing good overall ball. Troup has scored a bunch but really struggled to stop anyone.

Edgewood scores lots of points. How they handle De Kalb’s pressure is going to go a long way towards determining this outcome.

District 10 Wins: Elysian Fields, Harmony, Tenaha, Hawkins, Queen City
Losses: Jefferson, Cooper, Winnsboro, Mount Vernon, Troup, Atlanta
comparing those 2 I’d say district 9 should fare well in bi-district.

West Rusk vs Pewitt
Hemphill vs Waskom
Hooks vs Grand Saline
Harmony vs New Waverly
Daingerfield vs Anderson-Shiro
De Kalb vs Troup
Newton vs Hughes Springs
Edgewood vs New Boston
In the games that affect standings this week.
West Rusk over Edgewood and Troup over Grand Saline to force a 3 way tie for 2nd. Points will turn it out as Edgewood, Troup, Grand Saline.
Hooks over New Boston, De Kalb over Redwater and Pewitt over Chism.
Daingerfield over Harmony and Waskom over Hughes Springs.
Newton over New Waverly and Anderson-Shiro over trinity.

Harmony has earned the right to battle it out for a district title. Long ways away from lots of chatter around week 4 about people claiming “careful” what you wish for etc. good job by Coach Jenkins and staff to keep the ship afloat and sailing in the right direction.

Good grief that was pathetic from SFA. 1-6 and they did WHATEVER they wanted for pretty much the entire game.
And such a brutal play call at the end.

Your first paragraph is my biggest gripe. Texas has killed it with their quick screen game. Where was that in the 2nd half?

Troup isn’t very good on defense. This thing is liable to wind up like Lindale - Chapel Hill last night.

Waskom will have the most athletes out of all involved. They aren’t the last few years Waskom but they are still there. Type of team who if they put it all together can really get after folks, but don’t think they’ve clicked all the way yet.
Harmony is very similar to New Waverly in how they play, but NW probably holds the athletic advantage. Harmony does have some big size, more so than Waskom for sure.
Any combination of these games would be good ones. Id think Waskom would be the “favorite” over either of the 2, but not by much and then Harmony would be the other dog to either of the 2.

West Rusk should be fine in this one. The things West Rusk excels at are probably what Grand Saline struggles the most with. Would be very surprised if Grand Saline fines a way to pull this one out and my goodness what a shockwave that would be in the region If they did (but they shouldn’t).
And that’s not to knock grand saline. They are putting together a good year after missing the playoffs last year and control their destiny to the 2 seed which is a notable achievement!

Correct. 2nd round game. I would guess 3rd is probably the best bet, but your first round game gets real interesting at that point. If I’m picking which team I have to play out of De Kalb or West Rusk I’d think De Kalb would be the common pick.

I don’t think there is such a huge gap between these teams as people are making it out to be.
Gladewater and Tatum compared to Anahuac and Woodville is probably a push or close to it.
Center probably beats both Jasper and WOS this year.
Timpson is the one that you really don’t know how to compare them to anyone because of size.
Folks should probably just realize that if both teams bring their A game, it could be a dandy.
