  1. District 6 Final Standings

    1. Caddo Mills

    2. Sunnyvale

    3. Quinlan Ford

    4. Dallas Lincoln

    5. Wills Point

    6. Dallas Roosevelt

Next week Lincoln will play Aubrey and Ford will play Van Alstyne. Other matchups still waiting on the Gainesville vs Krum game tomorrow.

Gainesville wins and they are 3rd with Sanger 4th. A Krum win will force a three way for 3rd. Sanger is +4 and has clinched a playoff spot. Gainesville currently +3 with Krum -7. Krum has to win by 5 to tie Gainesville at -2. If Krum wins by 6 to 11 they are 4th with 12 or more moving them into 3rd and Sanger 4th.

And CC also had an entire 2nd string playing during "trash time" against district opponents that continued to shut them out. So that is invalid my friend

Centerville and CC could pretty much name the score versus the rest of the district, so the comparison in those games holds minimum weight. CC good very well be the better team. I just think Centerville is slightly better until proven not to be.

Centerville has played an identical schedule to CC. Three tough pre district opponents and other than that a bunch of doormats. Getting down to comparing the 3 tough opponents is just splitting hairs man. Not being cocky man just stating the fact that these games mean nothing coming into fridays matchup that's just the only ammunition Centerville has on CC when comparing the 2 teams is mart, jefferson and crawford are "so much better" than Kirbyville, buna, and Coldspring which looking at records they are. If you lined em up I don't think so near as much. It's gonna be a great one either way man and no one is guaranteed anything

This should be a really good game. Though, all we have to compare is non-district schedules since all the other district games have been huge blowouts. Mart, Jefferson, and Crawford are probably 2+ Tds better than Coldspring. Jefferson is 3A-1 District 6 Champions after beating Tatum last week and would be rated as top 10 team in 2A-1 along with Crawford. Which Centerville shows up this game between the one that beat a higher rated Jefferson team and the one that lost by 15 to Crawford remains to be seen. Teague(4-1 in 3A-1 D8) is the team that is comparable to Coldspring and Centerville beat them by 15. The Calpreps computer still only projects a 3 point Centerville win though.

I’m going to say this is how the bracket looks Saturday morning:

    West Rusk vs Pewitt

    Hemphill vs Waskom

    Hooks vs Grand Saline

    Harmony vs New Waverly

    Daingerfield vs Anderson-Shiro

    De Kalb vs Troup

    Newton vs Hughes Springs

    Edgewood vs New Boston

In the games that affect standings this week.

West Rusk over Edgewood and Troup over Grand Saline to force a 3 way tie for 2nd. Points will turn it out as Edgewood, Troup, Grand Saline.

Hooks over New Boston, De Kalb over Redwater and Pewitt over Chism.

Daingerfield over Harmony and Waskom over Hughes Springs.

Newton over New Waverly and Anderson-Shiro over trinity.

I don't see Troup winning this week. Although, in that three way tie scenario Grand Saline is +3 right now and Troup is -14, with Edgewood at +11. Troup would have to win by atleast 9 to move up to 3rd.

Whoever is 3 and 4 won’t make it out of first round. Hooks and DeKalb are tough.

There be a three way tie for first in District 9 if Edgewood and Grand Saline win this week. Dekalb will have a tough match-up in the 1st round regardless. I think District 9 goes 3-1 in Bi-district.

CC always ran it with rotating 2 backs and 2 fullbacks ,  constantly keeping fresh legs in and then bust them with the fullbacks right up the middle

We ran the Fly-T at Boles under Wallace with mostly formations with 1 TE, X, and 3 RBs. The Z RB was the speedster that would often go in fly motion from the slot. The F and H were the more powerful runners. We ran alot of QB runs and almost every play had misdirection so the QB had to have a could handle of the offense while being agile and able to pass on occasion. The OL flipped sides with the more powerful linemen always lined up on the strong side and the more agile linemen always on the weak side unless in an unbalanced Tackle Over. We used both power and zone blocking schemes. Wallace still Runs the Fly-T at Quinlan Ford but now also includes some Double Wing, Double TE, and Wishbone.

    I’ll always be a wing T man!

Wing-T is best when you have many backs that are threats when running and with different styles. Defenses can key on 1 or 2 guys and slow them down, but when you have multiple options that can score on any play and others that can get a first down when needed it is hard to stop. Good blocking from your OL, TE and X helps alot too.

Is the Wolfe City QB #10 going to be back for this game heard he had been out awhile could be a difference maker in this game. Also hopeful Rivercrest #33 is ready to go he continued to play Friday night but was hobbled. If Rivercrest can jump out early I think they can win if it stays close Wolfe City can pull it off. Definitely the winner has a better chance of winning a playoff game.

#10 has been out since getting injured during the Chisum game. He  was still on crutches during the Boles game, but he might be back this week or next. #2 came back for the Boles game but was mostly playing defense.

  9. Was looking at the Caddo vs Sunnyvale scoretracker and Stats. Sunnyvale outgained Caddo 337-164, but the difference in the game was the Caddo special teams and turnovers. Caddo had a Kick return TD, an INT return TD, 2 blocked punts with 1 returned for a TD. Sunnyvale missed a 30 yard Field Goal and Turned the ball over on downs twice at the Caddo 34 and Caddo 24.

Sunnyvale's Tds were after Caddo's only 2 turnovers. Sunnyvale scored the first points of the game on a 4 yard rushing TD after intercepting Caddo at the Caddo 5 and finished off the scoring with a 90 yard Drive after recovering a Caddo Fumble. Caddo's only offensive Td was a 38 yard TD run after Sv's first ToD. Caddo also had a 25 field goal after recovering a Sv fumble at the SV 12.

My goodness, surely caddo is better than Pittsburg.

Caddo beat Sunnyvale by 16 so they are obviously better than I thought.

I was basing this on seeing Caddo and Sunnyvale was Ford. Caddo didn't look very good vs Ford while Sunnyvale was beating Ford 35-7 before Ford scored two 4th Quarter Tds. Caddo had only 33 total yards in the first half, and finished with 174 yards. Caddo's 6 play 83 yard TD drive to end the 3rd Quarter was the only good drive of the game, but it was enough to give them a 7-6 win. I guess Ford just had a really good game plan because no other team has held Caddo under 29.

  11. QF ran 658(13.7 avg) yards and 6 Tds on 48 carries in their 43-13 win over Wills Point. Wills Points finished with 257 yards total and 187 yards passing. WP 6'3 240 Lb Fr. QB Eli Rice threw 2 TD passes. Jr. RB/DB Zalen Morales lead Ford with 16 carries for 303(18.9 avg) and 2 Tds. QF Jr. RB/DB JJ Jorzig ran for 200(20 avg) yards and 2 Tds on 10 carries.

  12. Week 10 Finals

    District 5

    VA 65 Gv 18

    Sanger 45 Farmersville 14

    Krum 54 Bp 28

    Aubrey bye

Van Alstyne clinched the #2 seed in District 5 with their win this week and will have a bye next week. Farmersville and Bridgeport are out of the playoff race leaving GV, Krum, and Sanger fighting for 3rd and 4th. Gv clinches 3rd with a win over Krum next week. Sanger gets 4th with a win over Bridgeport and a Krum loss. Bridgeport or Krum wins could result to going to tiebreakers.

    District 6

    Caddo Mills 30 Sv 14

    QF 43 WP 13

    Lincoln 57 Roosevelt 19

Surprising win by Caddo Mills to clinch the District 6 Championship. Seeding 2-4 in District 6 remains unsettled with Lincoln playing at Sunnyvale and QF @ Roosevelt next week. Wills Point and Roosevelt will finish 5th and 6th after their losses this week.
