update on the score?

Thanks for the updates. Would have much preferred it be Gilmer vs. Van, just because it's two East Texas teams and we could play in Tyler at Rose, just like we have before. Oh well, Gilmer vs. Aubrey it is. Any idea where that game will be played..........maybe Mesquite?

Surprised by the halftime score. Thought Van would handle Aubrey, and that's no disrespect to Aubrey. Just think Van has a solid team.

Sunnyvale out coached Gilmer, period. Gilmer had 10X the athletes and talent. All credit goes to the Sunnyvale coaches and their kids buying in and listening to their coaches. Pathetic performance from Gilmer coaching staff.

Gilmer coaches getting it handed to them. Sunnyvale coaches are much better prepared for this game than Gilmer coaches. simple as that.

Yeah, the QB to WR is bad for them. Sunnyvale coaches have done a great job scheming for Gilmer's run attack. All Gilmer has to do is throw the ball down the field and/or scramble the QB and I think it would open up.

Yes. Play calling is terrible. The lack of backside containment by the Gilmer defense is all that has kept Sunnyvale in the game.

99% agree with that............ we got at least a 1% chance not to get smashed by Carthage.............. But we have no chance against that offensive line on defense.

Gilmer wins easily. We have played Sunnyvale a couple of times over the past 5-6 years, and it hasn't been a problem. Our defense has gotten better, it still sucks, but it is better. And our offense is fantastic and Sunnyvale simply can't outscore us. That is unless our coaches call some stupid plays, which they have done this season. It's really simply, run Will Henderson out wide, and throw Te'erick Tate deep.

If you got something to say, then say it. If you know something, which for you, I highly doubt given your mental capacity, then say it. Otherwise, well, you know what you can do.

If that's the case, then why didn't Tennison play defense on Friday? I'm not questioning your authenticity, just asking. If he did play defense last night, then I didn't see it and I apologize.

As always, you are spot on in your analysis of the game. If this team had just half of a defense, they would be a legit State contender. Hell, if they had any of the decent Buckeye defenses of the past 20 years, I would say they would be one of the favorites to win State this year. But this defense is so terrible, it's frustrating. And I have one MAJOR complaint with what Metzel is doing......He has started to rotate the QB's..... I don't understand this at all. Why the hell is he having his starting QB, who is a JR. this year, and was the starter last year as a SOPH. trade time with a SR. this year at the end of the season and the first round of the playoffs...... It makes no sense whatsoever. The senior QB is gone next year and he does not play defense because he is slow. Why the hell have they started subbing QB's? The only other time the Buckeyes have done this was the 2018 season and it was an absolute disaster. And I like the Sr. QB, he's got a dang good arm and can move OK when needed, certainly not like Tennison, but he can move a bit. If he was able to contribute, he would be playing on Defense, but he doesn't have the skills, so he really has absolutely nothing to offer to the Buckeyes this year. It is very frustrating that the coaches have done this with the QB's. It's a terrible idea to have 2 QB's for Gilmer. I don't know what they are thinking. Anyway, just play Tennison at QB, run Will as much as possible, throw to Te`Eric as much as possible and hope you can out-score the other team........that's the Buckeye playbook for the play-offs as far as I can tell.

Wasn't expecting it to be this easy against Center. Thought they would hang around till at least the middle of the 3rd quarter......NOPE, they were out of the game half way through the 2nd quarter. I expected more running from the Center QB......that was a mistake not having a game-plan where he ran or had the option to run. He had a great fake where he pulled the ball from the Center RB at the last second and made a great run down inside the 10 yard line. Just give him the chance and he would have picked up a lot more yards and I think would have at least kept Center in the game in the 1st half. In the first half, the Gilmer defense settled down and played GREAT for them, which isn't saying much, but they did contain and stop Center after their first two TD's. The Buckeye offense could score at will, so when the defense tightened up, it was over. Glad no one got hurt, would be a shame to lose a kid to injury in a game that was so lopsided. We are playing next Thursday in Tyler, and I encourage any High School Football fan to come to the game for one sole reason, you get to watch Will Henderson run......He is the fastest High School Football player I have ever seen in person.... I'm not saying he is the fastest of all time or anything like that, just that I have been watching this great sport for decades and decades, just like most of you, and he is the fastest I have ever had the pleasure to see on the field. If you love this sport, like I think most of us do here on Smoaky, then do yourself a favor and come watch a really good kid with some of the most amazing speed you will ever see in a High School Game. Safe travels for everyone.

Huge tragedy that unfortunately we have had happen numerous times in Gilmer over the past several years. For the kids, just play your best and listen to your coaches, for the fans/community.....support your kids, simple as that, win or lose, just support the kids.

If both teams play to the best of their abilities on offense and defense and nobody gets hurt and the refs don't get in the way, and turnovers aren't a factor, I think the Buckeyes win a high scoring game by a couple of touchdowns........something like: Gilmer 63 Center 49 Something like that. And the scoreboard could easily go the other way in this one. I hope it doesn't but that is the facts. If Gilmer or Center turns the ball over, penalties, injuries, etc............. and get 2 or 3 scores behind, there is no coming back because the defenses are so bad. I'll give Gilmer coaches a tiny bit of credit with moving some starters on offense to the defense also and playing them both ways. They had to do it. The old way of only playing one way in Gilmer simply could not succeed this season. All things equal, Gilmer should win this in a high scoring affair. Just hope it's a good game, and the refs stay out of the way, and nobody from either team gets injured, no matter who wins. Going to be fun. I'll be there Friday. Rain or Shine.
