  1. I was at that game. PG only had to make one more play and it was over.
  2. We will see. Little bit different district for Gilmer to play in this year. "Rolling" won't be as easy as it has been in the past.
  3. I actually was surprised at the size that Atlanta has this year. Not normal for us to have that many kids over 6ft tall.
  4. Alright. Let's hear it. How did everyone look after the scrimmage?
  5. It's getting ever so close! If it weren't for the Olympics, I'd be miserable waiting on Friday haha.
  6. Haha not sure we will get to that point. Something about the natural grass that everyone loves. We did however get a new tunnel to run through. Pretty ecstatic about that.
  7. I will be honest, I was not impressed with Atlanta's outing against Texas High. First 2 drives, Atlanta moved the ball with ease. Our D1 DE/OL did not play. QB was not allowed to rush at all, which I believe contributed a lot to our later offensive stumbles. Hard to do reads when the defense knows the RB will get the ball, but we still bit off 5 yards each time. Was not happy with the way our defense looked. Very poor tackling, and not a lot of hustle. Not sure if it was just because of scrimmage or what. Definitely missing our secondary from last year, mainly our corner and safety. We still have the safety, but he's our QB so I'm sure he will be very limited in playing both ways. We also dropped about 5 easy passes, and missed some wide open guys. Overall, I think they will make the necessary adjustments to get us on track. We where playing a 5AD1 school so during the live quarter, T-high was subbing in constantly and our boys are just trying to stay in there haha. One thing Atlanta does have this year that they've been missing, is SIZE. A kid that moved from Pewitt got hurt last night, but he is a monster. His presence is definitely felt on defense.
  8. I hope I'm wrong, but I definitely see Carthage getting away with this game in the late 3rd, early 4th. My reasoning is that I know they have some kids coming back, but the loss of Centers will be a significant blow, in my opinion. In the 2 games that I did get to watch, one which Centers did not play, and one which he did. The game he didn't play, offensive gain was near nothing. The game that I did see him play, that was absolutely 95% of their offense. Just my opinion, but I'm pulling for Gladewater nonetheless. I'm sure they've got something to surprise me though, they always seem to have. Good luck to both!
  9. That was an enjoyable game for the winning team haha.
  10. Oh come on now. Going with Henderson because of an old rivalry? That should give you a reason to pull for us! ;) Good luck to LK! Hopefully they can make another bid for playoffs this year!
  11. Supposedly we have a HUGE sophomore kid that will be playing varsity this year. From what I understand, his grandparents didn't want him playing varsity as a freshman, and he very well could have started. I'm so anxious to see this kid in action, as well as see how #43 has developed since last year! It's that time of the year again guys! No more boring weekends haha!
  12. Man the love for District 7 R2D2 is awesome. Love hearing Atlanta's name come up as a heavy hitter. Glad we're back in the mix again. Great show guys!
  13. Yea man. Met a guy that actually was assigned to block him from Gladewater. He said the guy was a monster. That's what helped us so much against Gilmer really. He could get pressure on anyone.
  14. Go Tatum! Really hope to see them do well this season! One thing is certain, it can't be worse.
  15. Atlanta's QB started a few games last year. Played in some playoff games. He started against Pitt, L-E, P-G, Gladewater, and Center. Also played the majority of the game against Lorena in the playoffs, and the end of the game against Gilmer. He's got some experience, and his a good pass/run threat. Hopefully he's developed well!
  16. You're right, may bad. Don't know why I had 2014 on my mind haha. The team's defense improved tremendously as the season went on. Anxious to see if they have built off of what they did last year. We will however miss #17 on our d-line. That kid was special.
  17. Don't forget that Atlanta has a couple of D1 prospects on defense. This is almost the identical defense that held Henderson this exact same explosive offense to 28 points last year. 2 good teams with a lot of starters coming back. They're strengths clash. I cannot wait!
  18. I knew there was a reason I liked you.
  19. Lol I think you meant "Gotta see what -A- 3rd round opponent WOULD look like" :p Just pickin man. I hope to see y'all bounce back this year. Tatum's one of my favorite schools to keep up with.
  20. Surprised it wasn't between Gilmer and L-E. Both are very good games though. I will be at both too ;)
  21. I hope I'm wrong, but I just see this as a rebuilding year for Tatum. To really get a feel for their new coach and his system. The good news is, it can't be any worse than last year. Sure pulling for you guys though!
  22. LOL well we've been cursed on homecoming in recent years, so that may be a positive for you guys.
  23. You wouldn't know it by watching there, but that was a very smart move not to make the play. If he had, L-E could run the time out and end the game. With them scoring, if we stopped the 2 pt conversion, we had a chance to win. Unfortunately, they got the 2, but we did drive down the field and score. So all you can really think about is what could have been. We where missing 6 starters that game. I'd like to think this will be a great game. I haven't seen Atlanta practice or scrimmage yet, so I'm not all that sure what they're bringing to the table. I know the coaches seem excited (which what TRUE high school football coaches aren't?) so I'm optimistic. We should definitely have a passing threat this year. We will see! Aug. 26 is only 32 days away!
