  1. Well just know that I never questioned Quinn being the starter - and I had my reservations about Murphy the entire time. I do think he is still a very capable athlete, but he's going to have some growing pains. I'm just not on the "WE HAVE TO GET ARCH IN ASAP" train. I don't understand why people are that way.
  2. They're not even close to the best team in the Big 12 man. Come on, y'all can't possibly kid yourselves into believing some of the stuff y'all post. Say whatever you must to make yourselves feel better. When Texas lost in 2016, they were at historic lows. Maybe not the worst team in the country, but it was the worst Texas has ever been, Kansas still toted out the goal posts. Texas beat Kansas like a drum with Jalon Daniels, and without. Texas didn't even know he wasn't starting until the day they played Kansas. No doubt preparing for a different QB for a week plays into the opponents favor. Anyways, nothing alike. I honestly don't even think it's the same Kansas. Totally different school. Backup QB is a first round prospect, but starter would be a first pick no doubter. I wouldn't read much into this.
  3. Well it's no shock. They've played terribly since beating Texas. I'm just glad we're not the only ones Kansas tore the goal posts down for anymore.
  4. I never understood what everyone saw in Murphy in the spring game. He looked OK but in my eyes, he had a lot of arm strength, threw really hard, but had no touch. Never really saw him use his legs. Some of the issues he has though I feel like they can work on and correct. Some of it comes with experience as well. No 1 game isn't an incredible amount of experience, but it's a start. Most of Murphy's issues I feel like were mechanical though. I didn't see a ton of forced throws. Mainly him throwing off his back foot was his biggest issue. The pick, and 2 almost picks, were just him throwing off his back foot. Ball just fluttered up.
  5. Nah it's very similar. They tore down the goal posts and stormed out with them. Same thing happened in 2016, and Texas was 5-5 then. Kansas isn't a very good team. On top of that, they are playing with a backup QB. Jason Bean has lots of experience at this point, because Daniels has been hurt so much, but he's still a backup. OU got beat by someone they had ZERO business losing to, just like Texas did when they ever lost to Kansas. I remember all the hoo-ha last year about Jalon Daniels being undefeated as a Jayhawk. We gave them a big ole 55-14 pankin' with Daniels at the helm.
  6. So upon further investigation, Texas was in the neighborhood of 4/5-5/6 each time they played Kansas and lost, whom only had 1 win up until that point. So Texas would have been at historic lows, and Kansas at near historic lows.
  7. It matters not. Probably bad. Texas wasn't ranked #6 either.
  8. Well OU, welcome to the "We're supposed to be back but lost to Kansas" club. We (Texas) have been here for quite some time LOL!
  9. The infatuation with Arch Manning is nothing short of sickening. I'm so sick of hearing about him, and everyone hinging on when he will get time on the field. Texas has an incredible QB room. If Arch doesn't see the field till next season, AWESOME! I'm in no hurry to rush ANYONE out on the field when they're not ready. It's just wild to me to think that whenever he does get to go on the field, DKR will ERUPT, and then everyone will more than likely be disappointed watching a true freshman run some vanilla play-calls to get his feet wet. Putting him on the field too early though, could take many steps backwards from when he is truly prepared to take the offense over. I wasn't upset at all with Malik in his first start. He had some issues, but it's all stuff he can work through. I do think there are some parts of his game and athleticism that we didn't get to see, maybe for good reason. I think we will be alright with him, and I think it opened eyes as to how well Quinn plays and runs the offense. I think Malik has a few mechanical things they will straighten up this week, and come out hot Saturday.
  10. Adolis Garcia must surpass David Freese's postseason RBI record. It's destiny!
  11. Well he is a former coach and college baseball player too. I'd value his opinion before I listened to any fan of either of our teams so
  12. I guess I should have gone tonight. I've been to 4 Rangers games this year, and they won all 4, including Game 2 of the ALCS.
  13. The Rangers have been incredibly streaky this season. Hopefully, the new streak started last night! SHOW UP SEAGER - IT'S TIME!
  14. So I'll tell you the way it was worded to me. This was by a Braves fan, mind you. He had already walked the previous batter, the difference in 2 runs as opposed to 3 (i.e. the next batter homers) wasn't as great of a risk as Adolis at the plate. Adolis had just pimped the home run in his previous at bat. It was the first pitch. It was center mass. Rangers closer had already had to warm up and get in the game. Ranger's bullpen was already thin. Dusty had to be approached to move after he was tossed. All of these are strange coincidences that would have aligned for it to not be intentional. The 1 runner wasn't a huge difference when you're down 2 already. With the batters coming up, the odds were in the Astros favor to possibly go ahead and walk Adolis anyways. Adolis had just "showboated" the home run his previous at bat. We already know the strong feelings these 2 teams had the last time they thought he took too long to round the bases. The pitch was center mass - not a near miss. Not a graze, didn't even look like the pitch got away from him. Nothing in the pitcher or catcher's demeaner even led you to think it wasn't intentional. Jose Leclerc was already warm, now riding the bench. The Astros knew that the Rangers didn't trust anyone else to come in and close the game out other than him, thus not only did the altercation take forever, with them taking advantage of an already emotionally high situation with a batter known for being emotional, but Dusty refused to leave, thus keeping Leclerc on the bench for an even more extended period of time. All in doing this, getting tossed from the game to maybe give his batters some sort of edge in a game where they didn't seem to have much life left until this point. That's the way it was worded to me. Maybe not exact quotations, but you get it. The biggest thing for him was the fact that the pitch was just so dead center on Adolis that you just very rarely see pitchers miss like that. The stars just didn't align for him.
  15. That was a huge play for Houston by the way. I'm sure you all saw the same thing I saw.
  16. Also though, the game was rough, I'm so tired of seeing this happen. Like, I get the old saying "you can call holding on every play," but my God. I saw this as it happened, just happened to see a Twitter post about it as well. This is ridiculous, and beyond the threshold of "holding on every play."
  17. We need 2022 Scherzer tonight! Or even earlier career!
  18. The more I talk to people though, the more I start to slide towards the fact that Abreu hit him intentionally. That could just be the homer in me, and it did work out in the Astros favor minus the impending suspension. It's the amount of coincidences that have to align for it to not be intentional that pulls me that way.
  19. Everybody cheers when Altuve gets hit by a pitch. Even his own fans. It's all about perspective. The reason I find it funny about Garcia is just the fact that they blame him for Abreu getting suspended, as if it was in his control. His reaction may have been, but that's it. Everyone boos Altuve because he's made their baseball lives miserable. Not much worse than a child-man going yard on your team as much as he does.
  20. I'm anxious to see if Malik has the ability to put some touch on his passes. Literally every single time I've seen him play, whether it be spring game, or getting some in-game reps, the throws the ball so hard.
  21. Technically we only had 2 possessions after going up 38-6, which just furthers your argument. At most Malik gets 1 more drive of work? I think he's just upset that you said he forgot something. Sark may have wanted to put Malik in on the 2nd to last drive, but beings Texas stopped them with a TOD inside Texas 20, I'm sure he kind of wanted a "put it away" sort of drive and get them some breathing room.
