Mount Pleasant doesnt play as well on the road. Think MP scrapes together a win but long bus ride and low crowd could hurt.

Apparently I'm blocked until 2099 and I'm unable to chat on the app. Is this having for anyone else?

Going to be another long year if they lose to Mt Pleasant.
I'm curious what the Pittsburg folks think about the game this year

Do they play MP again?

Dragon stadium
i like the turf upgrade in 2015 set to get another field this year. The pressbox situation didn’t please me but beggars can’t be choosers. We were supposed to get a brand new pressbox but had to settle for a remodel of the existing one.
the stands are terrible we need to replace them imho.
pros: good parking not a far walk to the stadium. Better lighting
cons: the scoreboard could be bettervisitors Locker room is small.
the bleachers need to be replaced.
Concrete ground level with 6 foot fence was unique to me. This stadium is like a lot I see in this era. Spacious and clearly designed but without much character to the school and action. I think in the coming years we will see more gametime social areas (covered patios, food trucks, etc). These get people to the games earlier and will spend more money.

Did we really wait that long ?? They have the new AD and his coaching staff is basically in place. Allman was basically replaced in Jan the kids went through the off-season with an interim. Two months basically without a permanent hire. I think we were all impatient. They will do spring ball on schedule so we just will see what happens. This might be a rough year we have a tough non district schedule and a tough district. It will be hard.
For me, yes. Know where you are at on the last game of the season and make plans accordingly. It wasn't like Allman was a devoted Nac resident.

In all honesty....in spite of the colossal failure that the district suffered in the first round of the playoffs last season.... I think most of the teams in the district are on upward ticks.
Last season was a fluke for THS. Since dropping to Div II....they have been pretty dang impressive. Marshall, Hallsville, and Whitehouse all appear to be headed in the right direction.
PT and MP are just mysteries to me. Both have plenty of athletes....but they just can't seem to pull it all together.
Nac...... wowzers. I know they are suppose to name their guy in a few hours....but they just seem to be a mess right now.
Yup, I know the board is tired of my critique of Nac but its unfair to their kids and community. I hate to see that.

It has for awhile. We were awful for a few years. Last year was the first time in awhile I had high hopes. And truthfully I did not see the team progress as the season went on. We had more talent than we showed and did not improve as expected. You have to figure in the QB going out for the year but I was thinking we would go another game or 2 before being eliminated.
I agree. This past season I thought there was electricity flowing through the backfield with both backs and a great OL. Mixing in some solid individual WR efforts and it all seemed there. I recognize and can appreciate the burden of losing a QB. Realistically, our district is not a powerhouse DoD and I thought they still had more than enough firepower for a deeper run. At the very least I believed they would mow through the district. With the resources and pedigree Texas High should be one of the few teams each year that gets through two or three rounds.

My Questions:
1. Do any current 4A schools move (back) up to 5A? Obviously Lindale, Jacksonville, and Sulphur Springs have all dropped from 5A in the last couple of alignments. Kilgore has also been in this district...although not so recently. Barring a huge increase on the lower end of 5A.... have any of them seen enough growth to possibly move up?2. Are there any more 5A schools on the bubble of moving down? Again....barring a huge increase, not really. There are 10 ETX schools in 5A right now and six of them are all hovering around the 1500-1600 mark. Lufkin, Tyler, and Longview all have over 2000. Without looking....my guess is that Pine Tree would be next closest to moving down...and they are well over 200 from 4A.
3. Are there any 5A schools that could move up to 6A? Once again... this is really contingent on how much the lower limit of 6A changes. If I recall correctly.....the 2020 6A cutoff was 2,020...and it only increased to 2,025 in the last alignment. Longview and Lufkin both missed the cutoff by less than 40. Tyler missed it by less than 50. Have any of them had enough growth to bump up again?
4. Can Texas High return to 5A Div I? Historically...... THS has been on the bubble of 5A Div I and Div II. They spent the first several years in the upper bracket. But a decline in enrollment from 1900-ish to 1700-ish has put them firmly in Div II. The question is.... is the 1700 a blip or a trend? Will they remain lower and stay in Div II....or do they return to the 1900 and bubble into Div I?
Interesting stuff......
I think the biggest thing in the coming alignments....is the possibility of splitting the other sports into divisions.
My biggest wish?
Having TWO FULLY East Texas 5A districts. That was always the best IMHO. But with Jax, Lindale, and SS all in 4A now...that's going to be a tall order to make happen again.
I hate that Lufkin and Nac have to go south. I'd rather see them playing Whitehouse, Tyler, Jacksonville in district.......
Then you see them face off against a "north" 5A team like Texas, High, SS, MP, Longview, Marshall, etc in the first round of the playoffs.
Wishful thinking on my part I suppose.
Wishes
Texas High moves up
Return of teams that went down to 4A like in past district recent history
10 team ETX district - no predistrict games
Pine Tree
Hallsville
Marshall
Sulphur Springs
Mount Pleasant
Greenville
Lindale
Whitehouse
Jax

That was typed wrong I was trying to say we didn’t have to worry about depth back then. Now you do. 2020 was Allman’s best year and we still had to play kids both ways but the talent on that team made up for it. We should know something next week according to some sources. Not sure what they are about to decide but the community is tired of waiting.
District leadership in Nac is the issue. Wish-washy and no backbone.
