  1. Traylor turned it down, not enough money and was skeptical of the assistant AD tag.
  2. Wrong school. A little further north.
  3. There's going to be a drop in talent the next 2 years at PT. I believe the frosh were 1-8 and the JV did not win a game. Collins record was already 5-15. If it got any worse over the next couple years he would never be able to get out and would have a hard time going anywhere as a HC. PT will always have a hard time hanging on to quality assistant coaches because the salaries are low, so even if you have a great HC it will be tough for him to keep a good staff with any consistency as coaches will look for higher paying jobs. With that being said, I've heard there is quiet a bit of interest, including from a very big name assistant who doesn't live too far away. Word is they want to have the new guy in place by the end of the first week of July.
  4. Great series all the way around. Really wish these two districts were sticking together next year.
  5. Sulpher beats PT in baseball 12-1 in 5 innings.
  6. Congrats to the Pine Tree boys and Lady Lobos on winning the area meet. Boys PT- 98 Nac- 70 JT- 69 Hallsville- 68 Whitehouse- 62 Marshall- 57 Lufkin- 46 T-High- 45 Longview- 35 Greenville- 25 SS- 20 Lindale- 20 Jacksonville- 3 Corsicana- 2 Girls Longview- 100 T-High- 93 PT- 77 Hallsville- 68 Lindale- 57 Marshall- 52 Mt. Pleasant- 48 Whitehouse- 42 SS- 32 Jacksonville- 20 JT- 12 Greenville- 10 Corsicana- 7 Lufkin- 2
  7. My fault. I thought I had heard the DC had taken a HC position. I apologize. Was Harrington the JV QB? I think it will be tough to replace two WRs like Dabbs and Patton, to go along with a 4 year starter at QB. Hard to lose that kind of productivity offensively and pick up where you left off.
  8. Who is the heir at QB for Marshall, Hurd? I think Marshall may struggle a little next year with everything they lose, including their DC. I have them finishing third, and wouldn't be surprised if they get tested by one of the 4-6 teams. T-High has to be the favorite, although they lose something like 10 on defense and 5 on offense. Hallsville loses their top 3 on offense (QB, RB, WR). Sulphur Springs was young, but not very good. They were dominant at the lower levels tho. MP is returning it's OL and stud RB, but need to find a QB or they will be very 1 dimensional. It will be interesting to see if PT can continue to get better under Coach Collins. They looked like a much better coached football team than before, but they also lose their QB, top WR, 4/5 OL, and the majority of their defense. Greenville is a big ? with their new staff. They lose the heart of their offense with the RB leaving, and there really wasn't much else.
  9. Softball- PT 16 Marshall 8 Baseball- PT 7 Marshall 1
  10. Definitely don't have favorable match-ups once in the playoffs. The new 15-5A is one heck of a district.
  11. Depends on if #29 is playing for Hallsville. Watched them last week, he can be a game changer. Went out of the game early in the 4th.
  12. Yea. Got his ankle rolled up early 3rd and didn't come back in. Not the best passer but he can run.
  13. I don't know if I would say "blew." PT had 3 huge plays called back in the 1st half. They have a huge kid playing QB for them. JV final was 7-0 Marshall.
