They are relying heavily on the Knights of the Old Republic Video game too as influence. No way Rey is a Solo. She spent too much time with Han and Leia in the movie for them not to recognize her. Why she is Luke's daughter -- 1. Natural mechanic and pilot like Anakin and Luke 2. Starts her jedi training late like Anakin and Luke 3. Comes from a dessert planet like Anakin and Luke 4. In the battle with Kylo, the light saber coming out of the the snow to Rey was a direct reference to Empire Strikes back where Luke pulls his lightsaber out of the snow when he is captured by the snow yeti. 5. This is circumstantial = she is more natural to the force than her possible cousin Ben Solo i.e. Kylo Ren. She kicks his tail even though its her first time with a lightsaber. 6. When Kylo is interrogating her, he says he sees islands and oceans in her mind..... Where do we find Luke? 7. Finally, where is the map to find Luke? On the same planet as Rey. He obviously wanted her to find him.

(14-0) Gilmer Buckeyes vs (14-0) Celina Bobcats
BillSimmons replied to GTownballer's topic in High School Sports
Louie Gohmart, front on the sidelines, has personally sent the referee who called that taunting call to Git Mo. Not, a Gilmer in any form, that taunting call on that last Gilmer drive was awful. You never want to help decide a game like in crucial drive with a minor taunting call. I'm mad, and I don't even like Gilmer. -

I love stealing All American caliber QBS from Texas teams. Boomer Sooner -
^I'm sure TCU throws a little extra cash for staying in Ft. Worth.

Tough day for UT.

Henry and Cook.

The worst thing that can happen to the cowboys is go 7-9/8-8, win the division, get killed by the Vikings or Seahawks, and get a mediocre draft pick.

Henry has been special. He's carried that team. The number of carries he's had this year is ridiculous. McCaffrey is my vote by just by a hair. Both are deserving.

It is fun to think about, but it would never work. Money is the front factor to all of this. Teams are not going to relocate conferences due to money from the network stations : SEC, Pac 12, Big 10, Longhorn. It will be very hard to change from just the 4 game we have now. The sponsors and bowl names pay a stupid amount to the NCAA. It's not about being fair. It's about what is most profitable. The NCAA is happy as long as the OU's, Ohio States, Alabamas, and USC's are winning titles.

Bad news Astros fans = Chris Davis close to signing with Toronto. -
I like 4 teams. If you changed it, 8 teams would be the only conclusion. Byes cause problems b/c you begin to reengage with the #1 & #2 team bias. You open a can of worms that might be perceived bias towards certain teams over others. 16 is too much. Western Kentucky in playoff just feels like too much just b/c they won the toilet bowl conference. There is a middle ground. 4 team playoff worked this year and was probably perfect. Last year 6-8 was the better number. The number is fluid year to year. That is the problem.

It is a no brainer for Cumbie to go to Texas. I don't think TCU is going to be a national contender next year and he gets a promotion from co/oc to singular oc. If you flourish at the coordinator position at a big time program, that makes you a big name for HC positions. Lincoln Riley and Cumby -- two Tech guys running the offenses at the Red River rivalry. Mike Leech still running the Big 12 offenses.

Offered Rodriguez the job from Arizona. He turned it down. Muschamp was not the number 1 guy. I think they looked at it as the best hire they could get. Back luck for South Carolina. Nobody at SC view this as a win.

The Official 2016 Texas Rangers Thread
BillSimmons replied to Stoney's topic in Major League Baseball
^When he hits the market next year-- not if. He get a 6-7 year deal. And he's a year younger than Price. Talks b/w Pirates and Rangers are heating up for Moreland. Sources say that Rangers want bullpen guys and back end starters - no or little minor leagers will be involved. Chris Davis close to signing with Toronto Tolleson is on the trading block = 2-3 teams interested. -
Mayfield deserves to be there. But Henry & McCaffery is the real debate. Its a trophy in itself to be there if you are kinda top 4 or top 5 but not top 2. I'd rather know i'd be 4th or 5th and have fun in NY than be a close 2nd place and be upset the rest of my life.

With Gallo, you have a guy who can play 4 positions -- 1b, 3b, Lf, DH. The only real concern is his SO ratio, which is high. Gallo is not a huge disadvantage at 1b over Mitch. We'll see. I'm going to miss Mitch for no other reason than its fun to make fun of him with the word that rhymes with his first name. -

There is zero chance Yu Darvish resign with Texas after the Price and Greinke signings next year. He will get at least a Price contract.
