Members of the All Star Teams are automatically on the All State Team. This is the first year this has been done but it makes sense. This is why there are very few Seniors listed on the All State Teams. most all the Seniors are on the All Star Teams!!!

Every pitcher has 110 pitches! You can do it any way you want. Terry from Groveton usually gets to 110 in the 5th or 6th inning. If Terry can hold down Big Sandy with a little relief help from Thorton and Thorton can start in the finals against somebody's #2 you can start lining up for the parade!!!

Every pitcher can throw a total of 110 pitches in the state tournament. You can throw 90 on Wednesday and you have 20 in the finals! And how do you know Thorton is gonna throw against Big Sandy? He's thrown the second game in every series. Even in the one gamer against Joaquin Terry started and Thorton came in to relieve. I'm betting Terry starts against Big Sandy. Either way it's going to be a classic!!!

Lovelady and Shelbyville will play a 2 out 3 series at Morris Frank Park in Lufkin. The first game will be Thursday at 6:30. The second game will be Friday at 7:30. If a third game is necessary it will be Saturday at !:00. May the best team win!!!

I wish they would play football, it would help all of their other programs! You can tell when they come on the field they've never really been in the weight room. It would help them in every sport!

Hey Colmesneil and Shelbyville The UIL told us its against state law to play on Thursday. You better check on that! Even if you're giving the STARR Test on Monday, Tuesday,Wednesday that Thursday is a make up day and its just like a regular testing day. That's what we were told!

Ok I'm all for a pitch count. Who is going to regulate pitches for all these select teams? The kids that I have coached that had arm problems were damaged goods when they got to high school. Every one of them had elbow or shoulder surgery before they graduated from high school and all of them were select team phenoms! The pitch count is good but it's not going to be a solution for these kids that play 80 to a 100 games a year for these select teams! Just my take.

Mark your calendar for Nov. 25. That's the 3rd round of the playoffs!!! Might as well reserve Nacogdoches High right now! Or better yet lets reserve SFA for Thanksgiving night and see what kind of crowd we can draw! I can't wait!!! High School Football at its BEST!

When you grab someone's face mask whether you're on offense or defense it's a PENALTY!!! PERIOD!!! It was a great High School Football game. You are still in shock that you didn't run over Lovelady like you thought you would! Nobody got cheated. There were calls that went both ways. Some were iffy some were well deserved. The facemask call was legit!!! Somebody won and somebody lost! It's Texas High School Football Playoffs!!! All but one team is going to walk off the field after a defeat. This was your night Shelbyville! You had a great year. Celebrate it. Don't make excuses. Your kids deserve better than that!
