UPDATE: Richard Strickland hired at Paul Pewitt
AttaKid0596 replied to dillonpanthers's topic in High School Sports
They tried moving from their "antiquated" system for three years under Gentry, huge mistake. One of the best movies Abron made was allowing Kumrow to bring the slot-t back.- 281 replies

Paul Pewitt vs Daingerfield - MORRIS COUNTY REMATCH!!!
AttaKid0596 replied to Brahmaball's topic in High School Sports
So, what I get from this video is that if you run the spread offense, or any offense other than the wing-t, you will have better athletes. The spread doesn't require offensive linemen that can move and backs that "perform their assignments equally well?" That makes no sense. -

Coaching has always been a tough business. It's the nature of the business. I don't falt Gentry for leaving. Coaches come and coaches go, it happens everywhere and is usually nothing personal with the Kids. Most every coach I've ever known that has left a place actually lamented over leaving the kids, but because of the nature of the business there's TONS of other factors involved. Kids don't usually run off coaches; admin, parents, and lack of community support do. So, ya gotta wonder with so many leaving Pewitt , what's the cause? Why would a young man get into coaching? That's easy... For the kids, they love kids. What would drive a man away or out of coaching? Everything except the kids.

Kumrow first three years (2008-2010) per game averages: Scored 36 - Allowed 23 Gentry three years (2015-2017) per game averages: Scored 32 - Allowed 29 In 7 years under Kumrow, Pewitt's offense scored 21% more points than their opponents. in 3 years under Gentry, Pewitt's offense scored 7% more points than their opponents. Not counting 2014 due to massive injuries, from 2008-2013 Pewitt's Average points per game: Scored 33 - Allowed 23 while scoring 31% more points than their opponents. I'm not saying that Kumrow should return as the HC, I'm just saying offensive production was greater in the Wing-T/Slot-T than their time in the spread.
