SFA seems rather confused on their athletics overall…. Pass on local ftball talent yearly. They had a national acclaimed track team and in 6 months the 4 members of the relay team left and so did several coaches after Olsen retired. Facilities need major upgrades. I would guess lack of money and donors are the biggest reason for lackluster interest in many areas…

You say Ganado would donkey stomp them…. How does a team that bad make it to state championship then?

I would not judge one team’s performance based on their opponent. I believe a good team can make another team look less impressive. Timpson has done that to many opponent this year…This will be an epic battle. It will be the speed of Timpson and wizardry of Bussey vs the power,size, depth of Tolar…. I hope it’s a classic

Do yourself a favor and check out Peyton Brown… 6’3” 235lb 4.62 in 40yd dash…. Lots of kids will be making a business decision when he is running downhill at em…. His highlight video shows him hurdling a guy at that size…. This game is gonna exhibit some awesome athletes…. Oughta be fun to watch no matter who you root for

This matchup is extremely similar to last year’s championship game…..also saw where Tolar enrollment is 284 so they will be moving up next year….. seems like I remember Tolar having a really good young RB that is big…. Is he their difference maker or who is their stud player or players?

Tolar vs Timpson is my pick…. And Tolar is extremely similar to Hawley from last year….. Reg 3 will have their work cut out for them for sure…..

As good as this team is, am I crazy to think that 2 years ago when they had Courtney at RB was their best team….? They just happened to run into a fully loaded Shiner team that year

It was last year but one team held Timpson in check with smash mouth style run….. Score was like 25-27 I believe…. Gotta stay disciplined and play mistake free on offense. Long drive and score TDs…. On defense have a spy. Defense ends don’t rush up field too much and create big alleys. With 8 out key on QB and hit him every play no matter what. With 6 out they don’t have a WR that is physically overwhelming. 3 is quick but is often wide open on busted coverages with poor technique from DBs…. All this is easier said than done. 1 mistake and 10 will house it on ya. Also need a couple turnovers from Timpson. Bears are a seasoned explosive team and it’s their championship to lose. They are clearly the most explosive team left in playoffs but the games still have to be played. It will take a Herculean effort to beat em……If I was a betting man(and I am not) I wouldn’t bet against em raising the trophy this year but they are still HS kids playing and anything can happen…. And when it’s all said and done Timpson still has 10….

While it was certainly a luxury all year to have 22 and 5 on sideline for defense all year for the Dawgs, I just don’t see how ya don’t get em out there against good teams in certain situations…. And the decision to throw the ball before half thus stopping the clock and giving Timpson time to counter and throw deep ball (never let someone get behind you DB), really hurt Garrison in the ultimate ending of the game…. 10 for Timpson gets lots of praise but them Bears play some pretty serious defense as well as a unit…

Capacity is 14,575…. I would say easy 10,000 here

All of which means nothing and has no bearing on this game at all.

Everyone speaks of 10 for Timpson and he deserves all the accolades but the emergence of 8 has a massive impact on Bears winning the whole thing. He is quickly supplanting himself as one of the best RBs this area has seen. Speed and power. Throw in 56 and 14 on defense and they just have too many kids that win individual battles. Also 3 on offense has proven himself a more than capable weapon in passing game. Their overall team speed and aggressiveness reminds me of the Alto teams several years ago. While Garrison is a great team I just feel Timpson is on a run of generational talent that comes through and for 2A schools it’s just difficult to match…. Timpson will have to suffer an injury or have multiple turnovers to end their run. I have Bears by 14…..

Coin flip…. Perhaps Garrison’s ability to throw the ball some is what gives them the ultimate advantage in the end…. Both are big and physical and hard to run against

Just for smack talkn sake, Logansport La is doing all kinds of talkn that they would smoke this Timpson team…. Truly some delusional folks in this world… Them and HG must be smoking the same bag….

Only problem with this game is the winner may have some injuries because this oughta be an absolute war… Timpson gets a team that more than likely won’t be full strength

Here we go, calling for the coach’s head. This didn’t take long. #2 is amazing. The rest are just ok ftball players. Nobody else besides #2 had a run longer than 5yds….Playing weaker competition all year inflates stats and expectations. The teams that have knocked Bville out the past few years are good teams….They’ve had More than one good player. And it’s been the defense that’s let Bville down in recent years and not the offense. Tackling athletes in space has led to Bville downfall. It showed again last nite…. That’s an athlete problem, not a coaching problem…. Cats had a good year and got as far as they should have, given the match ups and playoff route.

Pretty amazing that 5 and 22 don’t play defense for Garrison…. What a luxury…

Good season Bville…. Tough match up with this district two years in a row…. Bearcats demolished every team up north but the 2nd place team got em again. #2 is awesome to watch. He had 4 yds that was simply snap to QB and run left or right….

Garrison will have to limit mistakes they have made in recent years in big games. No doubt the Dawgs are loaded with talent but they have had early exits from playoffs recently and it’s the mental side of the game that’s cost them. Special teams and turnovers will be a big factor in the end result of this one…. On paper Dawgs win but give Bville a couple extra possessions and it will come down to the wire
