  1. Seriously though, Overton looks much improved. A lot better than they did three years ago.

  3. GHS vs Maud stats G - Total Offense (45 points scored) 433 yds, 256 passing, 177 rushing G - Defense (13 Points Given Up) 3 Forced Fumbles, 2 Fumble Recoveries 2 Interceptions, 1 Defensive TD 9 Tackles for a Loss I think Overton is better than Maud
  4. Celina Bobcats 2001 in the State Championship game versus Garrison
  5. Grapeland finished with 469 total yards, 320 passing. Groveton finished with 512 total yards, 347 passing. Groveton has improved a lot since last season. I think they'll win their district, and make it at least 2-3 rounds in the playoffs.
  6. Did you mean keep the "peace"? And lol to your comment..
  7. 2003 was the last time they played each other. Grapeland lost to Groveton 53-21. Corey Murphy was one of the Indians main players.
  8. Grapeland had 306 total yards of offense in the 1 1/2 qrts played versus Kountze. Play Groveton this week, and it will be a test for the Sandies. Anyone from Tenaha know if Kerens still has that Bubba Faulk kid at RB?
  9. Game cancelled due to weather with 5:30 left in the second quarter Grapeland up 31-16. Looked good, but wish we could have played the whole thing.
  10. When you are trying to change things, sometimes it's good to change the schedule too. If you'll notice Elkhart, Lovelady, Alto, and a few others aren't on there. One of my favorite quotes from one of my favorite historical figures is descriptive of this as well: "You must not fight too often with one enemy, or you will teach him all your art of war." -Napoleon Bonaparte
  11. Red90, you're right about talk coming out of Grapeland every year before the season gets started. I think that's due to many things, and most of them are positives. People are aware that we normally have plenty of good athletes year in and year out, so they generally expect that it may make an impact on the football team's success. But this isn't always the case as we all know. There are some good reasons why the Sandies didn't schedule "ALTO" this year, as well as many other teams that are traditionally on Grapeland's schedule. You're right, Grapeland has been thumped more than a few times in the last two and a half decades by Alto on the football field, but the Sandies have returned the favor more than a few times on the court versus some "basketball teams" from Alto.
  12. Grapeland @ Brook Hill - Friday - 6:00 pm
  13. Palestine, Crockett and Grapeland
  14. This should be an exciting district. I'm interested to see how Tenaha's QB progresses this year, and how Therwhanger does at Timpson. Loads of talent, can he turn them into a powerhouse similar to the way he did Lovelady? Strange to see Wortham and Tenaha in the same district.
  15. Frankston, Garrison, Grapeland, Shepherd, Beckville, San Augustine
  16. Hubbard coached me in high school. He's a great man, and a great motivator.
  17. Game One: Groveton 9 Grapeland 8 Games Two and Three tomorrow starting at 1:00PM in Groveton.
  18. I'm looking for the following 2016 football schedules: Buffalo Colmesneil Overton Timpson Tenaha Wortham Mt. Enterprise
