Announcement is supposed to be made Monday. Yes, word is they had more than a few highly pedigreed candidates. I'm wondering how this crop compares to the batch that applied last time Rhoades left. 'Cause I heard some qualified applicants got turned away that time in favor a guy who probably came cheaper and could be more easily... controlled.
If it's who most seem to think it is, there will definitely be a reboot. If they let the guy coach, and help him with parents.

This week to meet with board for the hire. Only one with AD/HC experience, and he has been 3 rounds deep as an AD/HC, and has won 70 plus games. Looks like a no brainer!
Creeping up on a MONTH since this post......

They’re doing a pretty good job of it!
Guessing the "old" PP choice decided it was NOT in his best interest to return or PP decided that a "new" direction was definitely the way to go here. Job is posted on THSCA.

How does a committee every make the assumption a kid is not moving for athletic reasons?
Not always, but usually, the previous school checks the box that says "moved for athletic purposes."

Did he play not play varsity football at Jville last year? Because if he did, doesn't he have to sit a year out?
If a kids parents physically move and the PAPF is filled out and the DEC determines the move was NOT for athletic purposes or the previous school does not contest the move then the kid is eligible to play. People move for a variety of reasons and as long as there is no "recruiting" involved or there was not a discipline issue at the previous school, then I don't see what the problem is.

No one likes daddy an buddy ball, we want the best lineup. You want daddy ball go coach summers
If you don't think Cody is putting the best lineup on the field or preparing the team for success in District play then you don't know the man at all. He's the most objective coach I haver been around.

Most successful coach in school history by both wins AND the character/ relationship building Ghost was talking about. There are few people that are more respected in the coaching profession than Russel. Considered a high character guy. Had almost every kid in high school athletics, was considered a great boss and had low turnover. Everyone knows he got forced out because of some selfish parents. Hey they got what they wanted Jenkins did well with that group and now they are gone and so is he.
I will never blame a coach for doing what he thinks is best for his family and career. High school coaches are always considered outsiders, and parents will always put their kids over a coach's family, or other kids in the program. Jenkins has gone 1 year, 2 years, 2 years at schools, but has gotten to leave on his own accord and done well at all. Russel invested 15 years at Harmony, called a place home and got mobbed out anyway.
Yep, and unfortunately that is what our profession has come to. High character, loyalty and doing what is right by kids has gone by the wayside and the win at all cost mentality has taken over.

I wouldn’t say these boys succeed because of him, we’ve dropped 3 so far due to him an his choices
So you are blaming Cody for 3 loses?
You are NOT getting a better baseball coach or human being in Peaster.
You should be thankful that someone of his quality chooses to be in Peaster.

shouldnt of beat fairfield. There was no defense or offense Hunington rain at Fairfield that caused Fairfield to lose...it was literally Fairfield missed every shot but 5 shots in second half...Fairfield scored 11 points total in the second half...They missed wide wide wide open shots.
Fairfield gave up 22 points first half and 20 points second half...If Fairfield makes 1/4 of the wide open shots at the elbow that brackens missed in second half it is a run away.
The lay ups missed by fairfield...it was crazy to watch
Huntington will get blown out by Columbus you can take it to the bank
Columbus will win 64-42
You giving me Huntington and 22 points?
How much you want to bet?

Huntington ain't beating Columbus.
1A - Neches
2A - Martin Mills
3A- Rains
4A - La Vega
5A - Mansfield Timberview
6A - Duncanville
Not sure Huntington beats Rains, but Columbus???
Didn't they just beat Fairfield?

Which one would not be a surprise?
Duncanville #5
Timberview #1
LaVega #2
Huntington #22 - Never been to the state tournament
Nacona #9 - Last rip to state tournament was 1953
Neches #16 - 8 trips in 16 seasons - 3 titles
I guess you could say Huntington and Nacona would both be surprises based on pedigree.
