  1. If it's all on the kids then what are the coaches for? Give the new staff a chance...hell its been one game. Let's evaluate at the end of the year, in two years and then four
  2. So whenshould the parents and community be heard? Should the Supt risk his job by not taking action if the community is unhappy? At then end of day, like it or not, coaches are in the people business.
  3. I heard that ND hired a coach Martinez that was previously at Longview as baseball coach for next year. Is that a good hire...I know nothing about baseball.
  4. Here are a couple of thoughts... 1. Being a good man doesn't let you keep your job...its a business 2. The new AD obviously has a plan...trust the process and see what the results are in a couple of years 3. Changes needed to be made throughout the entire program 4. Baseball (which is the flag ship sport) hasn't won a district championship in a long time...maybe 4-5 years. 2nd or 3rd place finish in the district and then one and done doesn't constitute a dynasty. In the words of Ricky Bobby "if you aint first, your last" 5. Maybe the new AD doesn't like the baseball coach, maybe he doesn't like the color of his truck, or his dog or his wife...whatever the case may be, its his call.
  5. Tree hugger, the only way for you to raise your IQ would be for you to stand on a ladder. Invest some time and go sit down with the Supt like I did...and stop spewing lies. You don't do anything but stir the pot. If you weren't hiding behind a screen name you wouldn't be so quick to post these rumors.
  6. I think I heard that he is expected to bring his own coordinators.
  7. I don't know who this big wig is....but according to salty1 and tree hugger he has: 1. Single handedly got the coach fired 2. He put the committee together 3. Manipulated an 11 person committee to get his guy to the finals. 4. Directed the school board to turf the field 5. Strong armed the Super to get his guy 6. Convinced the board to hire him And when the dust all settles, ND has a Chad Morris disciple with 5 State Championships who is a quality person and by all accounts a great coach and a new turf field to boot. This guy is either John Gotti or needs to run for Presidebt of the United States.
  8. Captimo.....you were part of the process. Do you think the Super was pressured?
  9. ND...although they were battered...started 8 sophomores and 1 freshman on each side of ball. Should be much better in 2016. New turf field, new coach.,.they should be pumped. Looking for the playoffs.
  10. Robbie Coplin: Stephenville Lake Travis Joshua Sadler Liberty, TX CE King Supt to make site visits and check resumes over the next two weeks. Bring to the next board meeting (February 15th) and hire that night...start the next day.
  11. All...great conversation yesterday with Supt. Here are the facts. * Finalists are Joshua Sadler. DC at CE King High School. Hawkins graduate. The other guy is Robbie Coplin that worked for Chad Morris at Stephenville for 4 years and followed him to Lake Travis where he worked for him for 5. This was his first year as OC at Marble Falls. * It is unfair for you guys to say that the QB's dad had an agenda. He saw that a change needed to be made and he sent an email to supt. He also complained about softball and basketball in same email. Through this process the supt has seen all the components of a "program" and sees what has been lacking. He brought up a good point...the QB's dad has remodeled the field house, landscaped the high school, used his on equipment to seed and take care of the football field, hosted events for all programs at his house...all on his own dime. He was a huge supporter of this staff till he saw that change was needed. He was valuable part of the committee process and contributed all the information he collected. * The finalist may or may not be related to him, but both guys stood on their own merit. * Supt has no knowledge of the booster club owing money. He did say that he will investigate and if it is true, they will pay at once or changes will be made in that organization as well. On a side note, I want to apologize. A statement that I made was that it was a "crappy" QB. The kid is 15 years old...he works hard and from all accounts he is a great kid. My statement was made from what I read from Salty1...who should also apologize. The statement that he fumbles, throws interceptions and avoids contact are just rude. Do we really think that they went 0-10 because of a QB? They gave up in excess of 400 points...the kid doesn't even play defense. I called a friend of mine on staff at Troup and he watched the film after the Diana/Troup game and he stated the QB never has a chance. He rarely had time to throw and when he did, he had lots of drops. He said he would take the kid right now...cause he is a good kid and he will be a winner. It takes a lot for a 15 year old kid to not miss a single practice or game and never give up. So shame on me, shame on salty1 and shame on all the rumors. I have learned my lesson...investigate and get the facts.
  12. So we have people ranting about a crappy QB, his dad is on committee, cousin is finalist out of 100 applicants and it was transparent process? Uh ok....
  13. Since when did facts play a part on here?? I am just a dumb country boy...but "come to the meeting, we are broke" means we fixin to pass the hat!!! And let's get 2 the point....does the association has have working capital? You assets cover your debts?
  14. also heard that the booster club can't pay local businesses and is in debt and has lost 10k in the last two years....I bet he has something to do with
  15. Well...sounds like the QB's dad won in the process. His cousin (Lake Travis passing coordinator) is one of the finalist.
  16. I have heard Joey Hector applied and Scott Calloway. Total of 60+ so far...
  17. CaptMo True the 3 teams are were still in playoffs...but those 3 teams could have beat us by 100 points. ND also got beat by Troup by 48 and it's the only game they won.
  18. There is no way that ND couldn't not make a move. Team gave up 667 points and scored 67...worst team in history. So you risk a new system...how in the hell could it be worse?
  19. We obviously define "successful" programs differently....
  20. Not a single comment...not one, has said anything negative about Brett Ratliff. He is obviously a good man. I don't even think that there has been a negative comment about his coaching ability. I don't think making a change after you have lost 18 of your last 21 football games is unreasonable. After 3 years, you own the program so time was not an issue. I saw the booster club guy asking people to come to meeting to build and improve the program...not even sure how that would help. I also saw the list of mediocre performance that was being touted. When you list 3-7 4th place in district as an accomplishment, you are grasping at straws. There is nothing wrong with the community demanding better. ND always has provided a first class education and the community can certainly hang it's hat on that fact. Bottom line is that wins matter. You have to win or you face the consequences. All the coaches that read these posts know it. The Tyler Lee guy was let go and he was .500....it's the nature of the business. I support the school board in their decision and wish the Eagles and Brett Ratliff both the best of luck.
  21. And the story doesn't jive. The only real successes on the boys side were powerlifting and track...but we finished 3-7 and 0-10 in back to back years in football.. That's a head scratcher
  22. So what happens at the booster club meetings that build up the program? Are you having trouble getting people to work in the concession stands?
