  1. Yes they are. Collectively as a group they are about as balanced as any team I've ever seen. They have a couple of boys that could probably play on varsity right now. Not start, but play and contribute. The future looks bright around here. Coach Driskell and his staff have changed the culture in Malakoff. As the old saying goes, we don't rebuild we reload.
  2. Anybody who thinks district 10 isn't a beast is obviously a fool. Lol Point being, we were up on Yoe by 25 at one point in the game, scored 44 and it still wasn't enough. You don't become 3, almost 4 time state champs without being battle tested. D or no D Rockdale, Cameron, Franklin and McGregor are tier 1 programs. Last year Yoe had one of the best nose tackles I've ever seen. Some of you just need to go away! Lol
  3. Hell maybe you should take up coaching. I'm sure with your vast knowledge of the game Jaime wouldn't hesitate to put you on the payroll. And to be a "so called" ex player you sure do sound disgruntled. Everyone that I know that has ever been around him or played for him knows he is a great coach and have the ULTIMATE respect for him. I'm sure he would jump at the chance to get advice from such a seasoned pro as yourself. SMDH!! Lol
  4. I'm not sure your definition of weak but Malakoff and Teague both gave Yoe all they wanted. May have come up a little short but I guarantee we earned some respect from them. And the fact that was the first time playing each other and only losing by one to the 3 time state champs I'm pretty proud. Yoe is a borderline 4A school. We don't have those kind of numbers. Yoe had 22 starters while we were playing iron man football. That was the difference!
  5. So how do you think district 10 is going to play out? I've seen several scenarios. Right now Troy is sitting in the 4th spot. Will they stay there or does McGregor have a chance to slip in there?
  6. This will definitely be a good game. Looking at our common opponents and the results I truly believe Malakoff wins this game by 3 scores and that is not my homer prediction. If I thought Teague was better I would say so. Just think we have the edge this year. Everyone knows how good our offense is but our defense is playing lights out and will flat out light you up. Teague is a very good, well coached team and will come ready with all they have. I truly don't think it will be enough though. I hope we come out victorious and all players, both teams, come out healthy with no more injuries than we already have. But if I have to eat crow I like it wrapped in bacon around a cream cheese filled jalapeƱo. Grilled preferably. Lol. Safe travels to you Teague folks and may the best team win.
  7. Our defense has stepped it up a notch this year and is probably one of the best in 3A. Malakoff will be 9-0 after this one. Too much speed on both sides of the ball. Malakoff 45 Teague 14
  8. Is there anybody else in region 3, maybe district 11 or 12 that could make some noise?
  9. Malakoff's O line isn't a slouch. Personally I think our defense is better and faster than it's ever been. Taking nothing away from West but if they can't match up with our speed it will be a long night for them. Malakoff 45 West 14
  10. Question: Current districts 9 & 10 didn't play until 2nd round last year, playing 1st round this year. Which direction will they go 2nd round? East or stay in same district?
  11. You are absolutely correct Mr Pucket. He had a great teacher in his dad who was very successful in Crocket for many years. He has definitely been a god sent to us. He knows football, he holds the kids accountable and in return they love him and play hard for him. He is a great guy with a lovely family. Blessed to have him here. Thank you for recognizing his accomplishments.
  12. Malakoff and Teague will be blowouts. Groesbeck and West will be one to keep an eye on. Haven't seen any film on West but everyone speaks highly of their D. Groesbeck has some talent and I think they are starting to find their groove. They will be a tough out for their remaining opponents. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Elkhart beats Eustace, but in a close one. From what I saw Eustace has one weapon, #25. If Elkhart can contain him they will be ok. Malakoff and Teague by a lot. Groesbeck by 14 Elkhart by 7 My top four: 1. Malakoff 2. Teague 3. Groesbeck 4. West
  13. And it was Kirbyville not Rockdale. See told ya memory wasn't as good anymore. Lol
  14. I guess my post was kinda confusing. Lol. Sunnyvale should make a deep run.
  15. I was talking about Kemp not Sunnyvale. Kemp lost in first round to Rockdale I believe. My original post was about Kemp not being one of the teams to look out for as a sleeper.
