I agree about being able to answer questions that's part of the job you are always held accountable. Its a tough profession people get fired all the time for reasons some may never understand. I have no horse in this race I'm just always looking at programs as a whole I came up in a program that no one player was more important than the team. My coach kicked an all-state defensive end off the team because he thought he was above the rules. missed his talent but in the end it everyone understood how things were.

If they have an actual hiring committee then that's fine but the way the post made it sound it was the dad and his best friend decision to do whats best for the QB.

yes you find that best PRIVATE tutor to help your kids you dont hire a band director to help one kid in the band. A coach should not be focused on only one kid. They should be focused on building the program as a whole little jimmy wont be there for ever. Unless you guys are just looking for a coach to come in and use you as stepping stone then by all means let jimmy's dad make all decisions. Don't be upset when coach either fails because of too much parent involvement or lack of overall program growth. Good luck kids have to hate small town politics.

I really hope your friends are wrong about that because that would be terrible. I don't know many coaches who would want to put up with that, having to answer to a parent that would ####.

We shall see this coming year hopefully the rest of the athletic program can get it turned around they've been down in all sports except football for the last few years. I remember a time when Cooper was good in all sports on both boy and girls side.

Punish the coaches for letting him play but don't punish the whole team for something stupid the coaches did. Idk if you fine the coaches or what to do but the kids don't deserve to have their year ruined for something they had no control over.

I sure hope so I know that their DC left last year heard from some former players that he pretty ran things. Also they had the best player in their district this year and could only beat chisum. I understand it is a team effort but in that weak district should have picked up more than 1 victory.

Its impressive to see district 15 still standing after all the talk of getting swept out of the first round. Pulling for them in this one. Coach King is a great man and he has put up with a lot bad mouthing from some in the longview area. Maybe he can keep them rolling.
