Non district for Kilgore is one of the toughest I can remember in a long time for East Texas 4A ball. Chapel Hills non district is extremely tough as well

My 2 cents in early March:
1. Kilgore - until proven otherwise in my opinion...the defense was incredible last year and they're all back it seems
2. Lindale/Chapel Hill - Lindale and CH both replace a lot. CH has the dudes in the backfield, but they lost the monster offensive linemen...Lindale loses Thurman and Poe...hope the Eagles have something to replace them in the pipeline.
3. Lindale/Chapel Hill - Loser of this game
4. Pine Tree - Good athletes and coming down from 5A. I'd be shocked if they don't get in.
5. Palestine - Reyes is a good coach. Interested to see if he can execute his system in Palestine. They haven't exactly thrown the ball a lot recently.
6. Henderson - Growing pains and recovery from the previous staff continues.
7. Mabank - Welcome back to 9-4A...unfortunately it's a bad draw for the Panthers.

Reyes will do a good job at Palestine. Going to be interesting to see what he does on offense. Palestine hasn't thrown the ball much over the past several years.
@Raider20 any thoughts on this?

Agreed. I just see a lot of coaches sharing this stuff (as they should...always promote the kids!) but I think it has significantly less merit than other publications. I'd be embarrassed if I were a school that had 10 kids land on the "All-State" team and my team finished 4th in district play behind teams with 0 kids on the "All-State" teams!

Congrats to these kids...but I've never understood Padilla Poll all-state lists. Don't know how you can call it an "All-State" list but only people who pay your subscription are eligible. Several teams across the state get left out of "the godfathers" list...

The athletes are there. Interesting to see who gets this one and how the philosophy could differ from Coach Angel.

Yeah...I found a way. I just think its dumb that every year I have to create a new account and then cancel because I refuse to pay for it year round. 1st world problem for sure...just wish it were a little more simple.

Someone who knows more (Maybe @MattStepp) fill me in...how long is the contract with Bally Sports to broadcast the UIL State Championship games?
I'm tired of jumping through hoops every year to find a way to watch because my current TV provider doesn't carry Bally.

I am pulling for District 9-4A to get it done, but my gut tells me Anna (with an enrollment of about 500 more kids than Chapel Hill) will win it on their way up to 5A...

4 Regional Champions from this district (Lindale 2020 / Chapel Hill 2021-2023)
2 State Championship Appearances (Lindale 2020 / Chapel Hill 2023)
Lindale/Kilgore/Chapel Hill have combined for 35 playoff wins over the past 4 years (CH 14 / Kilgore 12 / Lindale 9)
Hard to argue that success over the past 4 years in 4A-D1
