  1. With realignment out of the way...what are your thoughts? Athens Henderson Jacksonville Kilgore Lindale Palestine Chapel Hill Lost Mabank and added Jacksonville. Other than that....we are running it back in 9-4A I truly believe this is one of the toughest and deepest districts in the Great State of Texas in 4A. Looks like these schools are scheduling some pretty tough non-district ball games as well. Looking forward to 2022.
  2. This is probably the best hire that SS could have asked for
  3. Someone gave you some weird info? Or do you know for sure of someone that was a finalist?
  4. That was my point....seems like a no brainer to stay put, yet someone suggested Riordan
  5. Rumors of a big name from the Golden Triangle involved in this weeks interviews
  6. Interested in seeing what happens here. Is Jacksonville a better job than Tatum? 26 seniors? Does that mean times are about to be tough for a few years? Will Tatum put up with a coach going through a "rebuild"?
  7. For what it's worth...I thought clock management was questionable by both teams in the Chapel Hill / LBJ game. I am not stating that they have poor coaches because nobody plays in the Semis without some form of good coaching. I do think that they are both heavily reliant on getting athletes the ball and letting them make the plays. Neither team is "out-scheming people" in my opinion. That is also a sign of not trying to be too cute as a play-caller.
  8. Sounds similar to Lindale this year (I am not saying it will be the same outcome) but it seemed my Eagles struggled defensively and when the offense could not carry the load they struggled. I am expecting improvement from Lindale next year. I think we have 7-8 starters coming back on defense and we lose one senior on the offensive line but he was not playing much in the later games. Should make for a fun 2022 season!
  9. CH definitely needs to up their game in non-district (and they may not have a choice because many teams will not want to play them after this season) I think CH has a chance to be really salty next year. My concern is the defense. Don't they lose alot? The Linebackers specifically?
  10. Guys like you make me not want to root for CH. luckily, I know that you’re just one of a few really annoying/lame CH fans. I am still pulling for the Dogs, despite your annoying posts.
  11. I appreciate this response. Pulling for you guys to get it done!!!
  12. I agree with that. The district really helped CH grow! I will admit, I am surprised to see CH representing our district this late in the playoffs, but credit to their coaching staff for getting the pieces in the right place just in time. Crazy to think that this team was close to missing the playoffs and now they have a shot to play at Jerryworld.
  13. Crazy talk. Abron will be first on the list. There is a nice little list of possibilities for SS. It helps that they're dropping. If they can stay down for awhile then this has potential to be a good job. Owens did an outstanding job upgrading the facilities...they are top notch.
  14. I think the last three times they've played Lindale the score is pretty outlandish in favor of the Eagles. Pretty cool that they are experiencing a run. Kudos to Chapel Hill for that. Revisiting a thread against a team that has absolutely smoked you the last three times you've played to brag is a little weird though....
  15. No offense here, but I think Liberty Hill is a little different than Hallsville and Greenville..... Best of luck to the Dogs this week, but I think LBJ takes it. They are very good.
  16. Dropping to 4A will help. Supposedly their JH was pretty good this year at the 5A level. If they get the right coach in there, they may be a playoff team.
  17. Gilmer should win but Van has a scrappy group right now.
  18. Let's not pretend that Lindale has not completely DOMINATED Chapel Hill the last three times they have played. Don't come on here talking about the refs in those games when the score over the last three is a combined 124-27 with Lindale winning all three. I agree that no one should be blaming refs but give me a break...pretty sure there were about 10 penalties against Lindale and only about 3-4 against El Campo. Maybe El Campo was just more disciplined last night.
  19. Tough way to end the season for the Eagles. 2nd Seed is the toughest road and unfortunately for Lindale, El Campo is very good (Owens/Davis are very tough to stop) I think Kilgore can beat them though.
  20. Gameday! Safe travels to all involved. Looking forward to watching our football players and all other students involved compete and perform tonight! Let's Go Eagles!!!
