The new HC is a great young man. Met him awhile back and I was very impressed with the way that he carries himself. NL has a great person running the program. Hopefully they will give him the support he needs.

I agree but my nephew showed me on twitter where the CH coaches call their offense the "greatest show on turf" The show has apparently slowed down a little since district play began.

Gilmer by 3 TD's. LE has not beaten anyone of significance and has really struggled in some of their wins. Gilmer is good.

Yes. I still think it would be an upset. Would ANYONE suggest that Mabank has better athletes? Most people would claim that the “Greatest Show On Turf” is going to blow them out.

I think it would be an upset for Mabank (a team many thought would finish last) to beat CH (a team that was once ranked 4th in the state and was picked by many people to possibly win the district) Yeah…sounds like an upset to me

I think it'll be close. Mabank will have an opportunity for the upset if CH doesn't come out firing on all cylinders. Mabank is hard nosed on defense and will be efficient and hold the ball on offense. It can get frustrating for opposing offenses if you do not score consistently. I think ultimately CH will win but I will not be surprised to see the upset. CH is a better team with the freshman at QB.

You’re saying this is a coaching issue? Weren’t you guys talking about how great the new coach is after Castles was let go?

Yeah I don’t know how many sophomores are on Varsity but the JV is winning a lot of games without their top 5-6 guys I think

I saw a post that said Lindale JV won 21-0 and is now 7-1 overall. I am unsure of the 9th score. Anyone happen to know scores of subvarsity games for our district-mates? I wonder if we have a shot a a district championship on the JV. Very excited about tonight. Hope the Eagles are ready to play!

I think a lot of teams could say this. That's why we play the games!

Just depends how you look at it. I thought Henderson was much better against the Pass than the Run. I think Lindale ran for over 250 last week.

Yeah the Eagles definitely need to get healthy. I don't know if they've been at 100% since about week two. The bye week comes at a good time. Just have to take care of business this week first.

I’m taking Henderson but they’ve got to come out hot in the first half like they did in the 2nd half of the Lindale game. Lindale had some dumb penalties that woke the Lions up and let them back in the game. If they will play like they did in the 3rd/4th quarter last week then Henderson is definitely a playoff team.

I agree with you but from my perspective it looked like they were running the ball really well. The problem seemed to be penalties at bad times and fumbles in the second half. I understand the conservative approach due to the situation.

It’s homecoming for the Eagles. Coming off a tough second half against Henderson but currently on a 3 game win streak. Thoughts?

Mabank is better than they've been in the past. I don't think they'll beat Kilgore but I will not be surprised by a close score.

Gilmer by as much as they want. We should go ahead and let the clock run from the opening kickoff.

From the film I can find on Maxpreps and youtube, I think Henderson is better on the defensive line than Chapel Hill. I think Henderson's defensive line is pretty stout. Should be a good matchup between the Henderson defensive line and the Lindale offensive line.

I think Kilgore wins this one but I sure hope they're not overlooking Mabank. Lindale saw first hand a few weeks ago...those guys are scrappy. They've got a couple of kids on defense that will fly around!

The difference could be that there isn't as much of a threat of the pass by Palestine. I could see CH struggling if they do not put together a good defensive gameplan, but if they are lined up correctly the CH defense has the capability to stop Palestine IMO.

Carthage backups should get plenty of playing time in this one...
