  1. No team is better conditioned than the Panthers?? Pretty much EVERY team is better conditioned than the Panthers. I actually had the Panthers sitting at 4-1 at this point before the season started. They are 3-2 thanks to that debacle in Emory. Confidence is one thing, but I'm a realist. SH hadn't played anyone remotely good except for White Oak, and how did that end up? Now, we lost our QB, but seeing how we avg less than a 100 yards a game passing, that might be a good thing
  2. I'm going to stick with my original prediction: 1. Gilmer 2. Gladewater 3. Atlanta 4. Pittsburg 5. PG 6. SH Gilmer should be the favorite until someone in district steps up and beats them. I also think Gladewater has the Best chance because of their great defense, but will be enough?
  3. I don't want to even think of a score, but the Bears take this pretty easily
  4. This game is interesting. Before the Krum game, I figured it would be pretty competitive, then KRUM almost scored 60. I know Gilmer has moved some kids around, and those kids will play defense ONLY for awhile to try and figure out the defensive issues and try and get some of those fixed. The offense will do whatever they want, and keep scoring until they get pulled back. I don't see PGs defense stopping them at all, I mean to just run the preseason gauntlet they did and avg. almost 60 points a game is crazy! Everyone knows the defense is struggling, but I think they get it figured out this week. Even though the game is in PG, I predict: Gilmer 61 PG 21
  5. Eh, a bit of a surprise as Krum is horrible. Put it behind you, y'all are home this week. Oh wait.....
  6. Awesome news! Ryen is a big part of the offense, glad he will be ok!
  7. I agree with you to an extent. Carthage did exactly what it takes to beat Gilmer. Balance, with a good defense. To beat Gilmer, you will have to be balanced on offense. Just being able to run the ball won't do it. Gladewater has a great running game, and a stingy defense, but they haven't played a game against anyone that has a strong offense like Gilmer. I don't count Carthage since that game wasn't completed, but Carthage was ahead. You will have to be able to pass, and not really anyone in that district can pass except for Gilmer. I will say Gladewater stands the best chance, but the game is in Gilmer, so no beating them there. Possibly in the playoffs at a neutral site if they were going to get it done. 1. Gilmer 2. Gladewater 3. Atlanta 4. Pittsburg 5. PG 6. SH
  8. Noticed # 10 K Collier didn't suit up. He ok? Did some kids not suit up for precautionary reasons??
  9. Y'all don't have the personnel to run Gilmer's offense
  10. This game was played last week, they have moved on to THIS weeks game
  11. That I'm not sure. Collier starts on defense as well, so probably not. R Ward gets a few caries throughout the game, as well as some passes out of the backfield, but I believe he's used mostly late 3rd and early 4th to move the chains and work some time off the clock. The problem for defenses with that however, is they are gassed and worn out and can't bring him down. He's a load that's for sure, and since teams haven't been able to tackle him, he's got a lot of yardage. Agree BuckeyeBob? BlackFlag?
  12. They have 5 or 6 RB's that rotate in and out, I believe it depends on the play being run. This is why you rarely see a Buckeye leading in any offensive stats other than QB. 11 different receivers catch passes and 5 or 6 RB's carrying the ball make it difficult.
  13. Celina struggled defensively in that game. Was up pretty big, but ALC battled back with their passing game. Celina ran all over them. I think Gilmer will score so fast and do often, ALC will have to abandon their run game and pass more than like. Gilmer has a really good secondary, so should be interesting. I feel the starters should be out by the end of the 3rd to rest. Next 2 games (Carthage & Nac) will be the most difficult on their schedule.
  14. Argyle Liberty Christian's defense is allowing 52 pts a game. Something tells me that number will increase on Friday
  15. They are balanced, but I guarantee they will test the secondary. #2 (Evans) is Div 1, and primary target. It's no secret he will get the ball a lot! However, he's not the only receiving threat. If the Bear secondary is suspect, expect a lot of points on the board.
  16. Perhaps, but this SH team is different. Biggest difference this year is confidence. Past teams would give up if they fell behind, but not this one. Coaches have these boys playing with confidence and pride. They are giving everything they have until the game is over. SH needs to hold onto the ball, clean up some mental mistakes, and play smart football. SH CAN win this game, will they? Depends on the above mentioned, plus anything can happen in a rivalry game!
