  1. 79 what you think of the new baseball coach? Heard he was a assistant under Coach Holder. Holder was at Yoe under Sapp.
  2. 79 Rumor is that Rhoades has secured a Head Baseball Coach and Girls Head Basketball Coach he is working to fill those 10 vacancies.
  3. 79 rumor is line coach Dooley is leaving Yoe.
  4. I understand Mr. Hemphill had problems recently at the end of track season. I believe it was like either you are with us or out the door. Mr Hemphill and his handlers chose out the door. Best of luck to Mr Hemphill at his new destination. Yoe don't kick the ball to the guy or you will be sorry. Yoe has been pretty much irrelevant for the last six years, what I mean by that is not really in the conversation as a state title contender. Rhoades and staff making a effort to change the culture at Yoe. Guess Yoe fans will see if it works. Lot of athletes have been on easy street in Cameron for awhile.
  5. Nation 79 what are your thoughts on the the unofficial hire of the co coordinator from Hallettsville.
  6. Yoe Nation 79 your statement about educators/ coaches is very factual. I believe you will be satisfied with the Yoe DC selection. Yoe may actually surprise some folks this season in Football.
  7. Balch may be coming home. Yoe fans ready for that? Oh Boy!
  8. Would you say Brashear and the Administration during his tenure created the attitude and culture problems? Yoe fans had high expectations for Rhoades when he came to Yoe for the second go around and a lot of fans have had to crawfish a bit. If Rhoades can turn the program around it remains to be seen. His past history at Yoe would lead you to believe he will make them elite again. It will be a new season in 2022 and the State championship is up for grabs. Good luck to all.
  9. Coach Rhoades certainly does not avoid a tough non district schedule.
  10. So true, the Rhoades hype means nothing until his team proves it on the field. Yoe may need a transfer or two to make them a true contender. Staff changes may be coming. I pick Lorena until they are beaten. Also keep a eye on Rockdale.
  11. It all starts on both offensive and defensive lines. Yoe had break downs on both. Secondary was poor tackling and busted assignments all year. Special teams were erratic all year. Offense could not score at the end of games when they needed to drive the length of the field to win a game. One positive was Rhoades got them to play hard for him against Hallettsville. The staff has to take a long hard look at themselves. Potential is a great word with this group, players have to block and tackle and coaches have to place players in the right positions to succeed. Watch the offseason evaluations and see what they bring. Rhoades is not afraid to make changes if needed. He is cleaning up the dysfunctional house he inherited. I predict there will be 2 changes on staff. Good work 09 on breaking down points scored on the Yoe defense. They were a very weak link this season. Keep up the good work 09. To all a great holiday.
  12. Was a good game. Yoe does need some time in weight room for sure. Missing starters just part of the culture change going on at Yoe. QB playing injured did not help the Yoe cause. Yoe got the ball with with 4 or 5 minutes left to play in the game with a chance to put a drive together to win. Yoe failed to move the ball, I believe the same kind of scenario took place in Academy game an Yoe failed again. Should be a interesting off season in Cameron. Rhoades continues to make a effort to shape the culture more to his likening.
  13. Opinion by some of the Yoe faithful is there is a culture problem inside program surprised 2 or 3 players are still on the team. Rhoades will do what it takes this spring to bring the players in line, if not they will be out the door. The Coach from Westlake has been coaching a group of players who can not tackle or don't want to, makes his job extremely difficult, 5 yard gains turn in to 25. I sure he will be evaluated by Rhoades this off season. I suggest he deserves a chance to prove himself. Good luck to the Yoe in their playoff appearance. Maybe the players will tackle and block and the coaching staff will elevate their game. Throw the ball on first down to open up run game.
  14. Last realignment 3A D 1 top number was 514 I believe. Rumor is that Academy and Lorena are headed to 4 A D2 Yoe will be in a world of hurt if they bump up. Good luck to Yoe in the playoffs, maybe they will tackle. every once and awhile. Yoe out of top 25 was a good choice. If those players don't spend some time in the weight room, next season will have the same results.
  15. New Coach, new defensive system, and new culture. You are correct, it has not clicked the way fans expected. I heard that Rhoades advised some supporters that this was going to take awhile at Yoe . Folks at Yoe don't like to talk about it but I heard there have been disciplinary issues with some of the players this season. During the previous five years of the athletic administration--- In the opinion of some--- things got out of hand at the field house and Junior High level. It is going to be a tough spring boot camp for Yoe football players. Not changing up the offensive system at Yoe may not be a option for Rhoades if he wants to win at Cameron.
