  2. It is the only game Friday. All other teams are reserving for Saturday. Sorry Ron, but being one of the coaches lets me know just a "Little Bit" more of the inside scoop!!!!
  3. It is the only game being played that night.
  4. "Big Poppa" and The Boys will definetly be ready to Wreck!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. I agree Jabo you guys are going to kill them!:yankees: I appreciate the vote of confidence!!!! Hopefully ya'll are right!!!! I know we aren't going up there with our "B" game!!!!
  6. He had the wind knocked out of him!!!!! When you are that big it takes a while to get it back in!!!!
  7. Brownsboro will be ready to play!!!! The tradition of Pilot Point is Duely noted. (I used to coach in the area and know much about the storied past of both PP and Celina). With that said -- the Bears will not make the mistake of overlooking anyone again.
  8. He got the wind knocked out of him. Landed on a foot and couldn't catch his breath. He missed 2 snaps on defense is all.
  9. Inside Veer -- Read first man head-up to outside the tackle. Block down with tackle, arc release with TE/slot. Outside veer -- read first man head-up to outside the TE. Block inside with TE.
  10. Personally, I have always liked the points when more than one team is tied. Head to Head is only viable if 2 teams are tied. Head to Head works because somone beat the other team, but there are 4 teams involved and head to head they split... go to points. It considers the outcome of all 3 games, not just the games you choose. Canton only likes it because they get in. They get beat by 21 in one game and 7 in another. There win was by 5.... so they are odd man out. Now I am hoping that this does get settled on the field, because either way a tie-breaker goes, someone gets there feelings hurt.
  11. I disagree with the Head to Head argument. It completely disregards the fact that a team lost to someone they shouldn't have. In this case say Van (and No I am not against Van in any way), sure they beat Canton and Athens, two quality teams and lost to a quality Brownsboro team. But they also lost to the last place team (at this moment). Why should that loss be disregarded? While a team such as Canton or Brownsboro take care of their business against the last place team and sit at home. Losing to good teams should weigh more than losing to a last place team. The only equitable way to handle it is through the point system, it allows losses to be equal and also handles the head to head aspect. Who was the most consistent against the better teams.
  12. I saw the Brownsboro game and thought the Cummins kid was better than Buker. Buker had like 11 yards rushing.
  13. Chapel Hill can also get it with a win and Brownsboro win.
  14. Most 5A schools have the ability to have a year round class for each sport due to the number of participants that specialize and the number of coaches on staff. Here in ET the majority of the schools are small.... meaning less athletes and less coaches. The coaches are coaching 2-3 sports, and the players are playing multiple sports. It only makes sense to have an off-season that benefits all sports, since the coaches and players are involved in multiple sports. My girls who do not play multiple sports are lifting and running during the period and after school going to the field (with parent supervision) to work on their skills. You get out what you put in.
  15. We keep hearing about 14-AAA, what are the scenarios for 15-AAA?
  16. canton had 169 yards of offense. Their running attack accounted for 89 (with an 85 yard run). Both defenses played very well, it came down to making plays.... and Canton made 2, Brownsboro made 1. Congrats to two Great defenses on Friday.
  17. I stand corrected. I predicted a Van "blowout" and obviously that did not occur. Congrats to the Panthers of Bullard and good luck in your next game vs. C-Hill.
  18. Good Luck to you and the girls!!!!!!!!!! Where else have you been?
  19. Mouse is actually Kasey Denton. Chelsea we called Weasel. Every girl had a nickname, they were a neat bunch of kids.
  20. JunkyardDawg...... Great place to coach is Caddo Mills. I was the softball coach there for 5 years. This years seniors were freshmen my last year there. A great group of girls.... 5 started on varsity as freshmen on a playoff team. Keep Nicole pitching and Mouse hitting and ya'll will be fine. Good Luck to you, and tell the girls Big Poppa said HI!!!!!!
